Transaction Date 3-9-2022 Paid - $3,752.90 out of $7,505.79 The business committed to business tax prep, personal tax prep, tax advice, payroll, bookkeeping, and platform access On 5-2-2022 I wrote the billing ***** to cancel this service and request a refund for what was paid and got no response On 5-5-2022 I called to follow-up on my cancellation request and a trouble ticket was created while I was on the phone to start the process. At this point I was transferred to a ***** to discuss and was promptly told they would not offer any refund (not even a portion). I was a little caught off guard as I planned on revisiting this service when I actually needed it. The services to be provided on the uploaded invoice have not been satisfied. The rep I spoke to cited a 30 day policy and since I am outside of 30 days no refund will be issued.To be clear, I was given bad advice from the start. My personal taxes were already complete by my CPA and this is a newly formed business so there was nothing to file for tax year 2021 ***** services boasted on the invoice were payroll for 1 employee (As I am just getting started I have no need to setup payroll at this time. All monied vested into my business were my own personal funds Lastly, I liked the team members I spoke to but could tell signing up for a service like this was not in my best interest at this juncture. I at least went through the rounds of scheduled calls to hopefully find a benefit. The onboarding calls did NOT happen within 30 days so trying it on in reference to this service for 30 days is a moot point. That is blatantly false. My initial "cancellation request" phone call was with a representative saying this would not be an issue. Once I was told that she said she would need to transfer me to a "cancellation group," which is code for I'll transfer you to someone that is paid to NOT issue a refund as requested. Also note, the sentence saying " I've been in lending for over 16 years and there are quite a few channels for me to pursue. I'm asking for a reasonable outcome. I'll keep moving in the direction I am headed as of now until something is done about this" in the attached correspondence was clearly to inform them of agency complaints to follow
Since the attached correspondence took place May 5, 2022 @ 10:39am I have had zero contact with 1-800-Accounting. Their response further displays lack of candor within their organization

Last November 2021, we were contacted by **** accountants that they can help us with filing our taxes. Given that we are a newly formed LLC. I said yes. However, it has been May 2022 and my business tax and personal tax returns have not been filed. I was not contacted as to what would be the next step and I found out that I am in a recurring payment of which we have to pay almost ***** dollars a year for the service which seems to be a waste. I really feel helpless as we got a letter from the *** stating we are getting fined for not filing our business tax. We had help with only one person in this entire business and she has been wonderful but I am not even sure if our personal taxes have been filed or not. There was no communication and I wonder if this is a scam since we have given them alot of our information and yet we do not know on how to proceed. I need to know that they will help us get through the previous tax year and cancel our plan since it doesnt seem to be working for us.Business Response

We paid 1800accountant$365 to do our 2021 tax return. We also paid $115 for Peace of ************** and $50 for them to file an extension with the **** 10 days after the deadline for taxes, we called the company and found out they did not file the extension and now we are 10 days late paying taxes. We complained and they reimbursed us $50 for the extension, saying it was their fault. We called several time and different days to speak to someone to find out when they would be completing our taxes and was always told someone would call us before the end of that day. There are no refunds to be issued as the extension submission required necessary by submitting party/ies data which was not provide or provided in a timely manner.
There was more than reasonable time to submit for an Extension as the process was initiated by the end user Taxpayer on April 8 2022 - But Never Submitted or completed.

They took our money, and on April 11 they refunded $50 that we had paid for them to file the extension. They said it was their fault they didn't file the extension. They never once called us to ask us a question about our taxes or the information I had sent to them.
On their portal it always said, "our personal return 2021 has been prepared and is currently awiting to be reviewed by their internal review department.
We are requesting a refund of the total amount paid to them including the $115. for "peace of Mind insurance."
They are now saying in this email from you that I never sent them everything they needed, yet they always told us it was in their review department.
No one ever called us with one question about our taxes. They dropped the ball here and don't want to admit it.

I have been demanding a refund from 1 800 Accountant since October 2021.I have attached all documents that shows my problem.In summary, 1 800 Accountant charged me for a service that was never done, and they have been ignoring all my attempts. The services that I paid for were NOT rendered.After many attempts and with 1 800 Accountant failing to respond, I am seeking assistance and remedy. On July 2nd 2021, my *********** bought your companys tax package for a total of $4743.46-which included business and personal taxes with the representative name ***********************. Unfortunately, your service were severely inadequate because no tax fillings were done since the purchase date. We have tried communicating with your staff, spoke to managers, had an investigation done on October 7th 2021- yet was still left unsatisfied with the results as well as losing our hard-earned money to have nothing to show for it.To resolve the problem, we want a full refund. To add injury to insult on November 19 when logging into the portal- under the Payment tab it read:October 15th 2021 / Chargeback received October 20th 2021 / Paid by Check / CB# ************, Chargeback Won November 1st 2021 / Refunded with Check / CB# ************, Chargeback Won / Manually Refunded Yet, when we reached out to the billing department via e-mail on November 27th 2021 to ask which address has the check refund been mailed too we are told that We can confirm that we have not issued a refund, and there is no refund that is due to you at this time. So when logging back into the portal the November 1st 2021 row disappeared. If the claim is that a refund cannot be issued, then I will escalate this matter even further. The short answer response provided is disrespectful to say the least and in no means shows that your company takes any responsibility for the lack of service that was provided.
A refund needs to be issued; services were not rendered by this company. It is an absolute scam to think that you can collect payment, not render the service and then ignore the customer.

Provide me the time span because when logging onto the portal my subscription shows cancelled. Clarify this immediately!!
You also keep writing that "There are no refunds to be issued as it is outside the 30-day period from purchase."
Even though I have provided full proof that 1 800 Accountant never completed any of the paid service that was paid for during that initial time frame. A policy cannot stay in place when the company is at full fault for not keeping their end of the bargain. How do you take someone's money and not complete the service and fight them on it?!
I have written letters, emails, called for months and now through the BBB is the only time I receive a response because you don't want your company's name to be tarnished?

I contracted this company as a 1st time business owner under the impression that they would provide the accounting and tax services promised . While I only spoke to an accountant once or twice and they falsely advertise their services. This company failed to prepare my taxes timely and after having contacted them multiple times send the return to me with multiple errors on the irs tax deadline . In addition to the fact I essentially had to load everything , speak to an accountant and was promised a turn around of 24 to 48 hours after that call these people sat on my information , make it impossible to reach a live agent and only responsive when they are swindling you into contracting their services . As a result of their gross negligence and incorrect prep of basic taxes for the 1st time in my entire working history my taxes with irs havent been file and they continue to avoid making the necessary corrections and even listed my employer as the **************************** when I am an employee of the social security administration and my w2 which they have on record clearly states department of interior for tax purposes . They also missed deductions of expenses I provided proof for and that the accountant told me they would add when completing all my uploaded documents review . It was past 10 pm on 4/18 when I received an email to log in to my account and as I looked I provided feedback to the person who made no changes and I was unable to sign the incorrect return they wanted to file . These people robbed me of over **** and could not even get my taxes done or file the appropriate extension. Any proof you need I can provide . Made calls , sent emails , have screen shots and to this very moment they still have not made the necessary corrections and I will now be subject to a penalty . I will have to file taxes myself when I would like a full reason for the Ponzi scheme they have going at this company robbing working class people of money while not holding up theirBusiness Response

I was billed for two separate subscriptions - one for $1179 for payroll and one for $3079.89 which included business tax preparation ($815), personal tax preparation ($365), yearly tax advisory ($1125), 1800accountant access ($329.89), loan agreement ($0), and quarterly estimated taxes ($445). They did not provide the payroll services that I paid for, so the subscription was cancelled and they did actually issue a refund for the $1179 for services not rendered. 1800accountant did prepare the personal and business taxes, which is why I did not request a refund for these services, however, they did not submit them electronically - I repeatedly asked for proof of submission which they never provided and I had to print everything out and submit it myself. One simply cannot trust this company to follow through based on the numerous BBB complaints and my own experience.I have sent several emails (at LEAST 12) and have called their suggested number (which somehow is never in operation) requesting cancellation of the subscription for which they did NOT provide the services of yearly tax advisory ($1125), 1800accountant access ($329.89), nor quarterly estimated taxes ($445) which were due last Monday. Once they received the money for the subscription, they no longer communicate with you. The only tax advisory I received was an incorrect answer about SEP *** contributions which almost cost me a penalty for over contribution. The repeated response from their "management" to the numerous complaint emails is that they have already issued a refund for the payroll and they completed the tax returns so cannot issue a refund - it's as if they aren't even reading the complaints about which services they are NOT providing or they are just too incompetent to understand their own services, which is likely. 1) Last year, I subscribed to **** accountant for tax/business services for a new small business I started. The gentleman on the phone sold me the service and guaranteed they would file up to six state tax returns annually. The cost of this service for one year was $3099. When I expressed concern about this price, he guaranteed me I'd "get all of that back in the form of a tax return." He also guaranteed they'd file my six state tax return. Neither of these things was true. I was therefore sold this service under false pretenses. 2) My personal tax returns were not correct. One tax advisor stated I should've received an additional $6000 in federal refund. So they did an amended return, and a different tax advisor determined I'd get an additional $60. That is a 100 fold discrepancy! I was told I'd only get the $60. The advisors never did agree. And I was left having to coordinate back and forth among them. This is unacceptable. Regardless of who was correct among their advisors, the original return was obviously incorrect as they determined I'd get the additional $60. So zero confidence in my tax returns and in fact now I feel need to take to someone else to check them over. For additional expense of my own, of course. 3) Tax advisor missed scheduled call on March 8, 2022. He did not explain why he missed the call. When pressed about what happened. He offered no excuse, apology, explanation. And indeed, he never contacted me to reschedule call. After filing complaint with them, they merely said I'd just have to ride out the rest of the year I paid for. I requested a full refund and was rebuffed. But none of my issues were addressed. It was a totally arbitrary decision. So all of these issues, atrocious service, no coordination among their own staff, let alone me, incompetent tax preparers, missed calls with no reason, no accountability, false claims of their services upon retaining the service are why I'm requesting a full refund.Business Response

2 years of regretful taxes done by this company, lack of response and work done in a timely matter. Got a better deal this year from them for taxes due to this problem. Was charged and when time came to submit taxes, no one was available or responded to calls or email. That may be your policy to not refund after 30 days, but you guys did not respond back to my emails or answer my calls. I was assigned no agents to message for my case in which I already paid for, only option was to call on the phone and wait 30 mins or longer for a response and the only time I got an answer was after the 30 days. I was a client paying for a service and received no communication about my file or and easy option to cancel. This is horrible service, you cannot sell something and deliver nothing.

I was offered nothing but a cheaper renewal of next years rate, which I already received the year before due to the companys lack of communication. This company is nothing but a scam, paid for services that were never provided. I expect a full refund at the very least.

Im a new small business owner. Im fairly new to using a Tax Accountant and purchased services with 1800Accountant in February 2022. I was told by the sales rep who signed me up that i would a team to handle all my tax filings, i said thats fantastic. I started my service and scheduled my first call to get started, setting up my account on portal, get to know me type of conversation etc. Everything was going smoothly until i noticed that these calls were fairly short less than 30 minutes and they encouraged me to use the portal. The portal used to submit my documents and connect my bank was glitching from the start, received error messages for uploading documents and bank synchronization. I spoke with my advisor on a scheduled call and explained my issues and wanted some assistance to fix the issue, she advised me that she opened a ticket so technical support could address the issue with no reply. Im already frustrated at this point because i found myself having to do tasks that i was paying for right? I was wrong, they told me i had to file an extension for my filing of a new business which i was under the impression theyd being doing on my behalf. I feel the services i payed for doesnt represent what the sales rep explained to me, i could be wrong. The services promised was not upheld in a professional manner, somewhat misleading. I think under these circumstances 1800Accountant should refund their customers if the services wasnt provided due to technical difficulties with their portal that prevents their customers from uploading documents and syncing their banks and also having the customers file for extensions or any task pertaining to the business and or tax related submissions.Business Response
