I opened a chase checking account through a link in early March where it stated if I received 500 or more in direct deposits that I would recieve a bonus of $300. I met that on June 7th 2024. I even called on June 8th 2024 to verify that I was eligible and even asked of the 3 deposits from **** *** which were one 4-26-24, and two on 6-7-24. I was assured by the agent that I spoke to that those THREE deposits counted. Which would have made my total direct deposits $517.20 by 6/7/24 which was before the date of 6/8/24. I had nit relieved any deposit as of yet for the $300 bonus, so I called today on 6/26/24 to ask why and no the agents are saying that the deposits I had from **** *** don't count and that I am not eligible after having been told that I had made eligibility and that the **** *** deposits I had counted. I am beyond missed as I was led to believe I was eligible and even assured that the deposits including the ones from ******* counted and then they just change it today and say I was not eligible and that the deposits did not count. I thought when comming to this bank it would be a good bank, but it seems the bank and customer service agents that work for them are liars who lie and bs their account holders. I will be leaving Chase bank as a result of this. How can I or anyone trust a bank that lies and tells two different things to their customers with their money. If chase wants to do the right thing I will remove this and or update this review, but seeing theirnrating on the BBB I highly doubt they will make it right. I WARN anyone go bank somewhere else unless you want lied to.Review from Luanne P

Customer service, and secure message responses are inaccurate. Telephone service reps can not provide any documentation of transactions they assist over the phone? Then the rep tells me I need to go to a branch and have a branch person ask for the documentation? All this to locate $5000 which went missing somewhere in the middle of a transaction from Chase Checcking to JP Morgan Chase IRA--this organization has a serious communication issue inside and out. The people working for this company are surely trying but their system is a MESS! I would give this a MINUS 5 rating if I could. Interesting that this company is NOT accredited by the BBB -- Note to self. . . time to change banks?Review from Jillian T

In about 2006 I had a HELOC with Chase, which I believe was paid off. Regardless, when the recession hit and everyone quit payment me, I filed bankruptcy and my loan(s) were discharged. The discharge was in 2011! Since that time, I believe I have had a Chase bank account and credit card. They did not send me any collection letters. Recently, my mother added me to her bank accounts and this was when their "bills" for an alleged debt 13 years old started to arrive. I asked the bank about it when I went in with my mother but the bank person didn't know anything about why. They allege that I owe $250.00 on a line of credit that was $54,000 and which I believe was paid off anyway. Their "bill" correctly notes that the debt was "DISCHARGED," yet they are demanding payment for $250.00. This is apparently an unethical attempt to rope me in to acknowledging the debt by trying to secure a payment, for which they did attach a payment coupon at the bottom of their bill with the amount of $250.00. This seems to be very unethical and I believe the Attorney General needs to be advised. My mom is 93 and I will be 60 in August. I am not sure if that is one or two senior citizens they are trying to harass and scare and intimidate into paying. I do not acknowledge this as a debt but would mention to anyone in a similar situation to consider contacting the Attorney General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.Review from Darryl S

In late May, a person pretending to be made called Chase and asked for a replacement debit card in my name. They asked to have this card and the debit code sent to a vacant house in **********, an hour away from where I live. This ********** address has never been associated with my account. Once this scammer got my card and code, they charged more than a $1000 at bars and sores in my area. I made a report to two police departments. Chase has denied my fraud claim and will not give me my money. They sent the card to the wrong address and they say I cannot prove fraud. I have closed my accounts at Chase and will never do business with them again.Review from Aliza A

I have been loyal Chase customer for over 20 years, with multiple active accounts, I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I have received in this matter. On May 25, 2024, I was defrauded when attempting to purchase tickets for a ****** playoff game through ***** ***. The individual I paid, using ***** *** via my cell phone, provided fraudulent tickets. Upon arriving at the game, I discovered that the tickets were invalid. The total amount I lost in this fraudulent transaction is 487.50, I have provided police and FBI reports that attest to this. I promptly reported this incident to Chase and *****, fully expecting the bank to uphold its commitment to protect its customers from fraudulent activities. However, to my dismay, my claim was denied, and I have not been reimbursed for the funds lost due to this scam. To add insult to injury, my friend **** *** (we were planning on attending the game together) who is also a Chase customer submitted a claim as she was defrauded on the same day, for the same game, via the same manner, by the same person and her claim was APPROVED by Chase Bank. Considering my long-standing relationship with Chase and *****, the significant financial activity I maintain within my accounts, and most importantly the manner in which Chase is choosing to openly discriminate and treat customers differently that are experiencing the same set of circumstances, I believe Chase needs to promptly refund my money. I hope Chase understands the detrimental effect of discrimination against customers driving reputational damage, customer attrition, legal consequences, and financial impact.Review from Karen W

I am the personal rep for my parents’ estate. I am on my 5th attempt to close out a JPMorgan IRA. I have gone to a Chase bank for support and notarizing of the forms. I have had the forms rejected 4 times now with help from Chase. Now JPMorgan tells me to go to the bank, get JPMorgan on the phone and fill it out with the 3-way. It is a ridiculous amount of time spent getting the money that belongs to our family. Very disappointed. I would never bank with them.Review from Sharon P

I have been a long dependable customer but I am being charged due to an employee's mistake. Well I hope a little $192 is worth losing a good customer. I contacted Chase and asked if wind insurance is required for my mortgage. I have in writing their employee informing me it is not required for my mortgage loan. Due to this economy and my limited income I was trying to find more affordable insurance so I switched my home insurance policy to a company without wind coverage and shortly after was advised I needed wind coverage. As frustrating as it was I immediately had to find an affordable homeowners insurance with wind coverage but it left about a two week gap in coverage which there was no damage to my house and I was not going pay for that time period due to their mistake. Well Chase has now taken out coverage for that period and charging my account for it. This was their employee's mistake and I had to suffer through trying to find another affordable insurance which I think they owe me for my time and frustration caused by them instead of charging me. As soon as possible I will be finding another mortgage company to finance my home. So I hope that little bit of money is worth the loss of my business!Review from Hector A

JP Morgan sent me a letter acknowledging a software breach that compromised my identity. Several accounts were opened on my name without me (nor my wife) authorizing. It's been 2 months, there is no a single department that can handle the problem, jumping from number to number and several visits at the Sugar Land branch. Now they are trying to collect money from me, 1800.00 to be precise from a transfer I didn't do. They are rude and don't seem to listen to the facts I'm presenting. Do not bank with Chase, arrogant group of people.Review from Dorothy S

Chase Bank employees are inadequate and unprofessional! I received a settlement and the check for the settlement was from a chase account, it was written to my attorney who also banks with chase and so do I, but the problem is the bank said they needed to verify the funds which they could do within 24 to 48 hours. It’s been over 48 hours and 15 different people at chase keeps giving us different information. They won’t communicate with each other so everyone has a different answer and when you ask can we speak to 1 person to clear the miscommunication up they said no. I called the executive office spoke with a young man there he told me he was transferring me to a supervisor in the override check department and this time a lady answered and agreed to call my Attorney back to try to clear the issue and miscommunication between the bank override department and my attorney, so she agreed to call my attorney back, but as of 2:24 pm 6/18/2024 nothing has been done. This is unprofessional and the employees or untrained for a J. P. Morgan Chase Bank. The latest information is that the funds would be available tomorrow and that has been told for 3 days straight. I’m now at the point that when my 1/2 million is cleared and available I’m removing my money from chase and going to Capital one bank. I hope all the Unprofessionalism and inadequate handling of my case was worth it. I’ll never refer anyone much less step foot in another J.P. Morgan Chase bank again.
