      I would like to prepend this with evidence that transgressions of this nature have been punished in class action lawsuits previously. To Qapital, please take note of this $4.4 million class action settlement: *************************************************************************************************************************************** of the transaction:The most recent transaction from Qapital related to this complaint was on February 7th, 2025 $6.00. The oldest transaction was on October 10th, 2019 for $6.00.-The amount of money you paid the business:I have been charged $390 for Qapital's subscription which my free acount was automatically signed up for. For 65 months straight without my consent I was charged $6.00. 65 * $6 = $390.00.-What the business committed to provide you:Qapital committed to provide me with automatic investment services free of any monthly subscription fee. This was only true for about the first couple months I was enrolled with their service.-What the nature of the dispute is:Qapital began charging a monthly $6.00 fee to customers that enrolled in a service without subscription. Customers were signed up for this fee without being asked or notified.Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem:This business has not tried to solve this problem.

      Thank you for writing on our BBB page.

      As a reminder all BBB postings are public therefore any sensitive information such as bank statements and personal information can be viewed by others.

      After a thorough review of your account, it looks like you signed up with Qapital on March 30th, 2019. Qapital's monthly membership fee had already been in effect during sign up and therefore you were given a FREE 30 day trial. Upon linking your bank and selecting your membership tier, you agreed to this monthly membership fee once the trial period has ended. Your first monthly membership fee took place on 4/30/19 and has been reoccurring on a monthly basis.

      We did notice that you reached out to us 2/9/23 requesting account closure which we confirmed at that time the account is closed. However it seems there was an error on our end and your account had not been fully closed therefore the monthly membership fee continued to occur. With that being said, we can refund the membership fees that occurred from 2/9/23 to 2/6/25. Any fees prior to 2/9/23 is not refundable as this was a service you signed up for and we received no communication from you requesting account closure prior to 2/9/23.

      They closed my account with my money in it. Now they say they dont have an account with my email at all. It wasnt a lot of money but if they do it for small change I can only imagine what they do with big amounts. You can not get a real response when you email them they only send you links that dont have nothing to do with what your asking I just want my money back and for this to not happen to anyone else. What gives them the right to take my money and keep it. I didnt agree to that Im anyway.

      I had a qapital account and cancelled it 11 months ago. I disconnected my bank account before requesting for it to be closed. However, they continued to withdraw $6 from my account monthly for 11 months. Due to the nominal amount, I didn't realize it was coming out. I contacted them again stating my account should have been closed and that my bank account was disconnected from the qapital account. The app even said my bank account was disconnected. I have no idea how they were still taking the money out of my account. They refuse to refund the $66. It like like a common theme from them. I just want my money back.

      Prior to this, your account was still open/active hence the reason why the monthly membership continues to occur. Users are able to delete their account from their end of the app, which you did not do. Additionally we received no prior communication from you requesting/confirming account closure.

      Again, your account is closed as of 1/6/25 therefore you will no longer be charged.

      This company is misleading. I originally downloaded the app because it said that I could create a free account. (Basic). Then all of a sudden my account gets upgraded and money was taken from my account without my permission.

      For close to a year now, Qapital has been taking money out of my account at $6. I've been trying to log in to see what's going on and how I could stop all the payments that I thought have been stopped over a year ago. I can't get any help. It doesn't make any sense for money to be coming out of my account when I haven't used the service and closed it.

      Sounds like you still have an active account with us as this $6 deduction is for Qapital's monthly membership fee. When you first created your account with us you selected a membership tier and linked your bank and upon so agreed to a monthly fee once your free 30 day trial period is over.

      With that being said, I was able to locate an active account from the phone number you provided which is associated with different email from what you provided here. Double check your records. For security reason we cannot post the email associated with your account here, so feel free to reach out to our support team so we can close the appropriate account and stop the recurring charges.

      I had signed up for an account with ********************** to help me save money in which I connected my personal bank account the app. I chose rules where when I use my bank account in certain ways qapital would pull money out of my account automatically and put it into my savings account there. It was connected for a couple days, and I was accumulating money in my savings account. Then all of a sudden, my bank apparently couldn't be connected in the app and money in the savings in qapital was gone. On my personal bank statements they are still pulling money from my account, yet SOMEHOW IN THE *** MY BANK ACCOUNT ISN'T CONNECTED. THE *** MAKES OBTAINING INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL INQUIRES VERY DIFFICULT.

It is important to keep in mind that even though there are connectivity issues with your bank, it is still linked via your banks routing and account numbers so transfers can still occur. The issue is that we are unable to retrieve data from your bank such as balance and transactional data but again, your bank is still linked.

      Date:04/11/2024 Time: Approx. 5:10pm - A PNC bank ATM withdrawal transaction was denied by banking institution (Qapital) prior to funds being dispensed. I was able to type in the amont of $400.00 for the withdrawal and accept the $3.50 ATM fee. Just before funds were dispensed, the transaction was denied. Funds were not dispensed, yet the $403.50 was drafted from my Qapital account. I reached out to PNC for assistance and they told me to dispute the transaction through my banking institution. I then reached out to Qapital's support team. I informed them of my circumstances via chat and email. Qapital replied that my request was denied and did not reimburse my funds and refused to reach out to PNC Bank to resolve the situation. When I questioned further, they closed my account and eliminated all access to all my accounts. I am still out of $403.50 and I don't know why.

      I opened my qapital account Its telling me I cant transfer because I need an external account. I used to be able to just put it right back into the same account. I would like to cash out my entire savings. The app completely crashed when I tried to add an external account to cash out to. I currently have ******** as of my last statement 3/1/2024 in this account that I am unable to move and now even see in the app. Support has been no help I just wanna close it and be done with it.

      I initially reached out to Qapital o on March 5th regarding a recurring change of 8.00 from my checking account when the account was termed out a year ago and yet was still charging me a subscription. I was charge over the course of the year of 136 and requested a refund due to my bank account was unlinked. I spoke to *********** who told my account was not permanently closed and that a refund will be submitted on 3/26/24 and should be in my account by 3/29/24. I havent received a refund and sent a follow up email only to say they will speak with their supervisor. I have yet to receive my refund or response from Qapital.
