Hi! Thank you for contacting us. We've already been in contact with this customer and worked on a refund on the most recent renewal. Each month we were sending out boxes and never got a cancellation or refund request over the last year till now. Our system will only let us refund the most recent order as they signed off on our policies and we sent them all of our FAQ info. We will send them a new email and try and fix this going forward.
Thanks!

Purchased a 3-month subscription with a gift card on Christmas Day 2023. Never received any confirmation email for the purchase. Two days before the third box arrived, the subscription was auto-renewed and charged without any notification or email. There was no clear message from the company during purchase that any charges would be made to my card, since the purchase was made using a gift card in full. The purchase was made as a first without an account, so I am unable to log in to cancel any subscriptions. Company has no phone number to contact for disputes, only an email from which they have yet to respond.Customer response

I purchased a 3 month subscription from this company as a Black Friday deal. I was supposed to receive 3 boxes of their food products. I received the first 2, did not receive the 3rd, and then was charged $150 for another 3 months. I did not authorize the transaction and never received my 3rd box. I contacted the company, asking for a refund for my $150. Nothing came of this, so I filed a claim with my bank. A couple of weeks later, Try the World reached out to me asking me to cancel my claim and that they would send me my $150 back in 3-5 business days. This seemed fair, so I did. Once I notified them, they said the claim was still there and they needed documentation that it was cancelled. I provided them with the documentation. They then had the audacity to tell me they would send me my 3rd box but there was nothing they could do about the refund. I said I would resubmit the claim if I didnt hear from them (having yet done so) and received an email stating that since I resubmitted the claim they would not refund my money or send the box. They are liars and scammers. I now will be resubmitting that claim in hopes of getting my money back.Customer response

I had this exact same experience as the complaint listed below and couldn't explain it any better than this user. I ordered on December ********* and haven't even received my 3rd shipment and it hasn't even been sent out even though it has been 4 months but was charged for another 3 month renewal yesterday March 17 2024 with a refusal to refund with no notice or indication of renewal.Other users experience:"On December 3rd 2023 I ordered a 3 month subscription as a Christmas gift for $105. The 1st box took over a month and a half to receive. After only receiving 2 boxes so far, I have been charged again for another 3 month subscription for "the current rate" of $150. I complained to the company today about not agreeing to an auto-renewal subscription and they said, all subscriptions are auto-renewal subscriptions by default and that if you'd like to cancel the auto-renewal feature, you need to do so in a minimum of 5 days before your next ship date. But how does anyone know when their next auto-renewal ship date is going to be? They do not email you letting you know that your subscription is going to auto-renew in X # of days, and if you log in to your account there is nothing there showing you that a new subscription is going to begin. There is also no where on your account to cancel your subscription"Initial Complaint

I ordered a 3-month subscription to "Try The World" as a Christmas gift on December 5, 2023. With the holiday discount code, I paid $120. It took well over a month for the first shipment to arrive and now they have charged me again for another 3-month subscription. The site was very deceptive about any sort of recurring subscription, let alone one costing me $150 every 3 months! As well, when I try to cancel, there is nowhere to do so, despite their claim there is. There's hokey email address to use, but who knows if or when that's checked. They don't even offer a telephone contact.Stay away from Try The World. You will regret doing business with themCustomer response

In August of 2023, my daughter saw an ad for the company's product and purchased what she believed was a gift card for a three month delivery of boxes for me for my birthday. When I went to use the gift card, I was charged a little extra which seemed odd but I paid it with my credit card. The total came to $117. I thought I was getting three months of snack boxes because that is the box I checked. The confirmation email did not offer me the option of creating an account nor does the confirmation email mention a renewal. (See attachments.) At no time did I receive an email saying "You are about to auto renew." Unbeknownst to me, the company charged me $150 in November for more boxes to which I did not agree. After I notified them in February, they charged me another $150. (This second charge has been refunded but they refuse to refund the first amount.) The concern I have is that this is consumer fraud. The product is advertised/packaged as a three month gift. The confirmation does not indicate that the one time gift will then be transformed into a subscription. Without warning about subsequent charges, there is no way to know that there should be a cancelation. It is problematic that people believe they are giving someone a gift and what is actually happening is that they are being tricked into signing up for a subscription.Customer response

In reference to complaint ID ********, the company did not respond via BBB. They did sent me a private email letting me know that they would fully refund me and further asked me to remove my complaint to the BBB. This resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved, but I do think this business is shady and would never recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a one-time gift card for my parents to try this for 3 months. Somehow either I missed when I purchased what was clearly a one-time gift card, or my parents missed it when using the gift card, that "subscription" was automatically applied. There's not even an option to NOT choose subscription, it JUST IS. No one expects to be subscribed to something when they are using a GIFT CARD. Those are reasonably expected to be ONE-TIME not reloadable! They use totally deceptive practices, preying on the fact that you wont know you're subscribed until too late. My parents' were had for over $200! and the company's response was "It was there in the fine print".Plus, it was awful food. Nearly everything was stale like its the left overs those countries didnt want in the first place. None of its **********'re getting sold what those countries couldn't sell themselves first.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Try The World is a scammy company and no amount of refunds will fix that. This is evidenced by the number of complaints about how bad the product is, how many are unexpectedly charged, & complaints of refunds NEVER being received. Try the World would have to change their business model of automatically signing people up for a subscription, or doing so secretly, and not making an auto-subscription out of obviously one-time gift cards.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:It is the same generic response as ever. "our customer service will reach out to you" Does not inspire confidence, it gives no concrete action or promises. And like I believe I said last time, they could fully refund everything, and I would not be satisfied because the core issue is that this company uses deceptive practices on customers and I see nothing addressing that either.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Hi!
Thanks for following up. On our side all we can do is cancel and refund her order. We've reached out again to her. Overall for our website/business practices it's important for customers to read all the info before placing an order with a subscription company. We're deeply sorry for any issues and we will work on this going forward to reach out more before a new renewal.
Best,
********

I was charged on October 25th. I never have received any information from the company. I emailed them multiple times that I didn't order anything yet 2 months later they have charged my card 3 times and get these random boxes in the mail of junk. I tried numerous times to contact them to no avail. I tried several numbers online that don't work. My credit card is investigating the charges. This is not acceptable.Business response
