I found the salon online and called the number to make an appointment. The website price stated $100 and there was no fine print or disclaimer. However, when I spoke with *****-the salon owner, on the phone she stated it would be $125 and that the prices on their website was old and she hasn't updated it yet. I was discouraged to proceed but wanted to get my hair done on 8/24. I was called to the back for wash and proceeded to take my locs down from the style when I was approached by the stylist who informed me it was an additional $30 to help me take the style down. Which later on, she didn't charge me that fee since I had already taken down 90% of my hair. I was highly infuriated at this time because I should've listened to my instinct to try somewhere else. None of this was explained to me when I made the appointment with the owner or posted on their website (these additional fees). As my hair was being washed and conditioned, I asked the stylist if she could two strand twist my hair. She informed me that would be an additional $40. Livid at this time, I already made it up in my mind that I wouldn't return. After she finished doing my hair, I approached the front desk to pay and now the price was $140 for washing, conditioning and palm-rolling my locs plus $40 for the two strand twist plus tax and tip. I ended up paying $210. None of this pricing was quoted to me from the beginning and the excessive charges exceeded my affordability and my expectation. I felt like I was being robbed for services that were not equivalent to the price nor was I consulted on the amount before the process commenced. I will never return to this salon and I will continue to use my prior salon which practices better business ethics with their clients. I was truly disheartened by this and if I would've known the pricing upfront, I would've opted to not to go. Poor business practice.
