      I have Metlife Dental. I will be choosing a new plan in a few months. I've had to have a tooth extraction and dental implant. Out of a $3K ****, they've paid $300. I've been back and forth with Metlife and the ********************** They've supposedly committed to pay more towards the claim but keep denying it. It seems like their business model is to deny claims and hope that no one follows up. They nickel and dime and will attempt to get you lost in insurance jargon and paperwork **** if you attempt to get the coverage you paid for. This seems like a fraud/scam. If you have any other choice, I'd steer clear of Metlife.

      I had an approved FLMA claim for 4/29/22-6/22-22 for a disability. I filed a short term disability claim against my short term disability policy I have with Metlife. They sent a denial by snail mail which I did not receive until 5/20/22, twenty days after I filed my claim, and too late to recover any lost pay. In their denial letter they stated that my condition DID meet the condition for a disability claim, yet they would NOT pay that claim. I filed an appeal based on that statement, and the appeal was denied on 6/24/22 -30days later-again 30 days too late to recover any lost pay.They do everything by snail mail, which means everything is delayed by 7 days to get to me, and 7 days to get back to them- ridiculous when dealing with lost pay. There is no reason they cannot communicate such important information much quicker by email. They allow themselves 45 days to make a decision on an appeal!Even though my condition DID meet the qualification for a claim, they refused to pay my claim!!!!They did not pay my valid claim so what use is the policy I am paying for! They should lose their insurance license based on all the complaints I see here.

      I chose MetLife because I had payroll deduction at work. They are charging me $3000 a year, progressive is charging me 800 a year. I just spent five weeks trying to get them to cancel my policy, and give me a refund. Its like pulling teeth with them and constant battle to actually cancel your policy. I live in a no insurance state and they demanded I send them proof that I had insurance. They just want to hold their customers hostage

      This insurance company is a complete scam. They wont pay you your claim. It doesnt matter if you talk to a supervisor. It doesnt matter if you call them 100 times. They say the money is being sent but it never sends. They owe me over $500 in unpaid money for my disability claim. The claim is from 3 months ago. I should have had the money in my pocket the week afterwards. All the staff acknowledge that I am owed this money, but it never gets sent. Not only is what this company doing illegal, it is pure evil.

      Worst company I have ever dealt with. I had 3 doctors working with me for back problems. Off work for 1 month per doctors order because I could hardly walk and in extreme pain. Denied because their doctor, whom I never saw, said he thought I could have worked. Numerous paperwork constantly, Numerous letters from doctor to no avail. Denied disability. I have been fighting this with the help of my union since last October. So many many many phone calls. To no avail. I have insurance but they refusecto pay

      I have filed a claims with Metlife, since February, only diagnose Covid-19 was paid my heart condition diagnoses has not been paid, and every time I call and speak with a supervisor I am told several different reason s as to why the claim hasn't been paid, and when I give evidence to the fact that all the documents they are requesting have been submitted for over four months.Then I'm told I will receive a call shortly, from claims since customer service can no longer help.It's been a absolute nightmare doing business with Metlife, there should be a law to protect customers from all scammers even Corporate scammers.

      Metlife has got to be the most difficult insurance company I have ever worked with. It has been 6 months since I filed 2 accident claims and I am still trying to get them processed. I have made more calls than I can count, I talk to a different person every time and have to have them escalate my calls to management. I was finally escalated to 3 managers on the separate calls and dates the last 3 months, ***** ****** **** whom have all instructed me that they can see they have everything needed for my claim to be processed but they are not sure why it is not. They have all said they will follow up and call me back with the progress and status of my claims yet none of them have done so. I have never had such a difficult time working with a company as I have had with Metlife.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. I failed to update my card information causing my policy to lapse. Totally my fault. I called in to correct card info. They were excellent and seemed to totally help me out. They offered to let me pay for lapsed months and maintain coverage. I appreciated that. However in the same conversation told me they have rewritten their policies and could now offer me a better rate and plan if I start a new policy. Sounds great right? While they did warn me that I would have a lapse in coverage and informed me I would have a 2 week waiting period for accident and illness they conveniently left out the 6 month cruciate ligament waiting period and wont approve a claim that I filed right at the end of the waiting period. As I tried to escalate the supervisors got ***** and *****. The waiting period is mentioned In the fine print on page 11 of the policy packet. Apparently I was supposed to notice that on my own. The packet was given to me AFTER I ended my first policy and started the second. The first rep I spoke to was lovely and told me they could pull the phone call and if indeed it wasnt explained to me they would make it right. Phone call was pulled and they did not make it right. The customer service became horrible after that point. Condescending and downright rude.
