Enrolled in debt payment program in 2024. Sent payoff amount for all debt received on 3/1/25 by Gitmeid. Emailed Gitmeid on 3/4/25 to follow up. Called Gitmeid on 3/11/25 to find out why debts still unpaid and was told they were cashing the check and would transfer the money to customer ******** to pay off the debts. Called Gitmeid again on 3/17/25 to find out why debts still unpaid. Reversed payment on cashier's check sent to Gitmeid on 3/17/25 (as they still had not cashed it). Reissued cashier's check directly to ******** on 3/17/25 and shipped to be received by ******** on 3/19/25. Want debts paid off immediately as need this done for the selling/buying of new house to go through 4/24/25.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. We are still in the process of getting confirmation that all of the bills were indeed paid from each creditor, but this business seems to have made those payments in accordance to our contract.

I'm unhappy that it took escalation of the issue to the BBB to get a response from the company and will never do business with them again.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

Last May 2024, I signed up with ******************** to help Me during a financial hardship and help me with paying down my debt. They are operated and managed through Robert Gitmeid *************. This is a scheme. The had six of my accounts they assured me they can negotiate down and probably cut it in half. We worked out a plan for ACH withdrawal of payments twice a month.I was concerned about the amount and twice a month and they were very demanding of that. I lost my job at the end of May ************************************************************************************************************************************************** to send two payments a month. Then in September, I had a car accident and my car was a total loss and I had some health issues and injuries and I contacted Gitmeid Law to decrease the amount and request that I only send once a month. There's so many fees that are taking out of these payments each month. None of my six account balances are going down. Only one was negotiated since last May.. they also do not allow me to just pay once a month. I sent an email on 3/9/25, Authorizing and requesting to cancel the services and refund me my $350. they ach withdrew in 3/7/25. I called Gitmeid Law today and was harassed by ****. He was demanding payment of $2000 to the one creditor that they negotiated. After I have paid them $6891 and not one single bill has been paid off, not even the smaller ones. I could've paid off a few of my creditors with $6891. This law firm /******************** needs to be audited. Extreme fees and my creditors are not being paid. This is a scheme. I am requesting a full refund of $6891. They have done nothing to help me pay off any debt. Gitmeid Law withdrew my money for 10 months and **** is demanding $2000 from me. I want this service canceled and to confirm that no more withdrawals will be made. I notified my bank. I am requesting Confirmation email for a full refund and cancelled.

They have a holding company separate from them called ******************, out of ***** and that company has a one star rating out of five with over 100 complaints, so I am worried I am being ripped off.

Received an email from an Attorney at Gitmeid Law on November 11, 2024 and called them to verify payment satisfied the same day. I was transferred to the ***************** and I spoke with them. I was advised that my account was paid and should not have any further payments. They are autodrafting from my account and not reporting correct information to the credit bureau. Each time I call the client success number, I speak with someone who speaks English as a second language. Oftentimes, they do not understand what I am asking, and I receive varying inconsistent information about whether I owe a debt. Additionally, their statements on the Gitmeid Law Client Portal are misleading and difficult to calculate any balance owed. It is usually filled with attorney fees. I was by several agents that the balance remaining is only the Attorney fees. That was confusing for me given the documentation from the Attorney that my debt was paid in full with "0" balance owed. The hold time to contact anyone is usually excessive and draining. I have repeatedly asked for further clarification of balance due if any at all about the letter received from an Attorney ***** S. ***** at Gitmeid Law. I have also asked what the payoff balance is and requested a lesser settlement amount if paid in full , which they would not negotiate or offer any lower amount. I was continually transferred and believe my personal information, including my email, is being outsourced or monitored without my permission by the Law Firm.

We came to this company to help with our debt relief. We noticed from the beginning that there were lots of fees for everything they did, we continued paying thinking they were going to help us. We came into hardship and asked to pause our payments for a few months. It took about 6 months to get back to paying them. We started again in January 2025 and noticed that our first payment of $582 went all to fees and not our creditors. I called to say I no longer wanted their services and now they tell me I owe them over $4000. I went to them to help pay my bills, now I owe them. Makes no sense to me.

I have sent a total of two ********* checks in an effort to pay off a debt consolidation bill:I inquired where I should send the first ********* check back in September. After reaching out to Gitmeid Law Offices, they informed me of the address to which the check should be sent. The address that they gave me turned out to be the wrong address (************** ** **** **, **. *****). From September to December, I was told the check that was sent to the given address was the incorrect address as they could not find nor had any record of having received a check. In the interim, I cancelled the first check; they went on to provide me with another address to send the check after not having received the first one. I went through the process of sending the check by registered mail so that they would receive the check within a days' time. This was roughly two weeks ago. I have spoken to several people and they told me that they would have to check with a manager/ I requested to speak to a manager -- to no avail as said manager was always in a meeting whenever I called. No one has returned any of my calls inquiring about the whereabouts of my check as of today, January 15th. I need some sort of closure as there is no way that they have not received said check. The expedited shipping that I paid for for the second check had to be signed for by the recipient, else the check would be have been returned to me, the sender. The knowledge of me not having received that check back suggests that they did indeed sign for the check and they are in possession of my money.

Have been paying $290.52 every 2 weeks for over a year now for debt consolidation they haven't paid any of my debt and have been just taking my money. I want a refund of all the money I have put into this that they have been taking and not been paying my debt off I could of had my debt lowered on my own by now. They are scam service and it's ridiculous they took my money from me saying they were paying and never did.

I contracted this company to resolve and negotiate a buy out price for my credit cards bills. It has been over a year since I have given them the amount required to pay all my ******** return they have yet to settle on a $600 dollar open account. Everytime I call the company to follow up, they claim they are still waiting to settle and hear back from the creditor. They say a manager will look into it and call me back and they never do. It has been over 7 months and I have yet to get an update. It seems as if they want to continue to keep me enrolled in their bill consolidation program. This is just the tip of the iceberg. While in the early stages of this program, they would get an offer from a creditor and encourage me to accept the generous offer only to lead creditor to cancel their offer when I didnt have enough funds to pay. This would be a vicious cycle of me paying creditor a large chunk of my reserved money in the account and then losing the offer when I couldnt pay the restonly to start over at a later time when I had money in my account and then losing credit for what I had previously paid to said creditor. Also, for those times I declined the offer, as I knew it would take a few more weeks for my account balance to go up in $$$ as I kept depositing into the account, ********************** would tell me that the creditor could decide to have me pay the whole original balances owed in full. This created a threat in my eyes and would make me accept creditor offers that I knew could possibly cancel on me at a later date because I would not have enough funds. Its horrible, just simply a horrible experience. Now all I want is out. They have more than enough money in my account to resolve my last two creditors for the past two years and have not settled or updated me. Why cant gitmeid just settle and let me out of this program. I have been in this program for over 4 years. It seems like forever. Please help. Im ready to rebuild my credit and this is a hinderence.

Please see the attached details of the letter that was sent to Gitmeid ************************ (National Debt Relief). In the $8,832.56 of payments, I made to them, $3,490.84 of my money went to unjustified fees. Gitmeid took 40% in their pockets when it was communicated to me upon signing up with them in January 2023, there would be minimal service fees. I am seeking $1,259.56 to be payable to (2) of the creditors on my account that should have already been paid in full by now. In the 2 years of being with this program, I should have 4 accounts resolved and completely paid, not 2.

I lost my husband in 2022 and half my income. I hired National Debt relief in January 2023 to consolidate and settle eight of our debts incurred during our marriage. ******************** pushed me off to a law firm they have in their company Gitmeid to settle my debts.National Debt relief told me in case their was any legal issues I would be covered. I went into this contract at $260 a month for 48 months under the impression and told by National Debt relief that the money I give them will cover the settled debts. They settled 4 of the 8 debts which where the smallest. This year I received 2 letters from a law firm demanding payment on two accts with prosper. I forwarded both letters to Gitmeid who told me they will contact them and negotiate a settlement. Well they never did because I received two lawsuits which I forwarded to Gitmeid and again was told they will negotiate a settlement. They negotiated after the lawsuits with one being settledfor three $500 payments which they told me I would have to make. I do not have that money because I thought the money I was paying every month for the last eighteen months would cover that as that was the contract I enered into. Now there is a court hearing on Monday 9/23/2024 for the second amount of $2200 which I was rudely informed by a Gitmeid lawyer that I wouldhave to pay out of pocket or they will take some of my disability pension til it got paid. I have spoken to an attny who informed me this was a breach of contract however it would cost me more money than I owed to fight it. I feel that I entered into a contract with them and the money I pay every month should cover it and I feel that they breached the contract with me and should cover these amounts due to sitting back and not negotiating these accts sooner. I have been suffering from extreme anxiety and need help in enforcing the contract I have with them as I have no money and cannot afford an attny to fight them and was told they would tach my disabilty pension.

BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
