We're sorry for the frustrating experience! When you edit an order but don't use all the credits you're allotted, the rest are converted to rollover credits and can be used later for add-on items. We're sorry that we didn't refund the value of those credits when you cancelled, but we did so today. Your refund will finish processing in 5-10 business days, if not sooner. Our system will always create an default order for customers based on their Food Profiles, but when editing orders, customers can go above their usual plan size for an additional charge. You cannot cancel your subscription without them retaining your last payment (no delivery). I have been asking them for 2 weeks. As soon as you use what is in your "wallet", they automatically charge you for the following week. See the catch 22 here? You order from what they pre- charged you and as soon as you place your order, they charge you for the next. No matter what, you lose one payment. They claim they will hold that money in your account until you decide to return. I don't want to return. So, they get a weeks of my payments without delivering anything. As close to bait and switch in their policy as anything I've seen. Not an ethical company. They make millions if not billions on canceled accounts.Hungry Root

We're sorry for the frustration caused! While we will first credit the account for any refunds owed (damaged items, etc.), we can also refund to the card on file if requested. Other credits, such as rollover credits, remain in accounts unless used to add more to a delivery, or the subscription cancelled, but we can also remove rollover credits from accounts and refund the cash equivalent to the card on file. Food arrived warm and inedible. When contacting their customer service the response time is over 72 hours.... which I never heard back from. I spent $218 on spoiled meat and some vegetables. Never again!!! Be warned and save your money and time with another company.Hungry Root

No customer support at all. I didnt receive an order, and I am trying to get a refund. I have texted, used the bot, sent an email, and reported it on the app. I have received no response for a week. This is ridiculous. There needs to be a way to reach a real person, but no. They will not take phone calls, and everything else is bot-driven.Hungry Root

I had ordered less then a weeks worth of meals. I was charged $311. I have been trying to get a hold of someone to explain the cost and no one has answered. I would not recommend ordering from Hungryroot. I can go to a grocery store and pay way less.Hungry Root

We're so sorry for the frustration caused! When editing your delivery, you'll have the flexibility to add items beyond the allotted credits for your plan size. If you do, the difference between your plan price and the additional items/credits will be charged when the orders are finalized. The total cost listed was split between two orders, both of which were edited beyond the regular plan cost. We were experiencing unusually high volume that delayed responses beyond our typical response times, and we regret not being able to answer your questions in a timely fashion. When I first saw their ad, I found it intriguing and answered their questionnaire. One of the first questions they ask is how many people is this service for and I answered the question one. I live by myself. I continued because I believe that they catered to a one person household. They require that you I provided them with my credit card before I provided with the information that all their meals are for two servings. I immediately attempted to cancel this service and have tried for almost 2weeks. I followed their instructions, but never received a confirmation regarding a cancellation, which I was told I would receive. I ve received text messages from them, reminding me to make changes to my order before 7 PM tonight. I responded that I had already canceled my membership that I didnt want anything which I had already done to every single text or email that they have sent to me since the beginning of this madness. As you asked, I absolutely have buyers remorse but have done everything in my power to cancel this subscription following their directions on how to cancel unfortunately their system just doesnt want to accept the cancellation.**** LHungry Root

Terrible communication and only with a bot. No humans work there apparently. They promise to respond within 72 hours - lies. There is no phone number anywhere to call and speak with a human. They specially note on their website they do not accept calls. My hands are tied and they have my money. You can't see what you are ordering before you subscibe - I tried to cancel within minutes of subscribing and have been bombarding them with texts and emails to no avail. I will receive my first order tomorrow even though I've tried for a week to cancel. Scam. I'm only giving one star because I am not allowed to give zero stars.Hungry Root
