My pillow, my shower, my dishwasher. These are all places I have found cockroaches in my apartment over the past 10 months. I have lived in ************** from 2021 on, with no issue. From March 2024 through present, Related Management has overseen an unmitigated cockroach infestation. I have reached out to management over 15 times in the last ten months regarding this situation.I asked the WEEKLY exterminator if there was anything I could do to help this situation, and he said no. Unfortunately, I am in close proximity to a unit that is the known source of the cockroach infestation, as I was informed by a Related employee. The property manager, ****** ********, mentioned that the roaches coming by my apartment were travelers, implicitly acknowledging that my apartment shares contact with the problem apartment. She came by my unit on 11/1/2024 and said the problem is not coming from this unit. I distinctly remember this, and have documentation of messages I sent my parents. I followed up with ****** and to my surprise, she attempted to gaslight **** requested an *** accommodation to be moved to another unit, something that is frequently referenced in disability accommodation. I have ADHD and anxiety, and seeing roaches consistently for ten months has wreaked havoc on my mental and physical health. My two mental health providers shared their attestations. Related denied my request for reasonable accommodation after months of me asking for help, follow-ups, and, bare minimum, acknowledgement. Due to malignant negligence, ****** ********, **** ***** and ***** *******, have allowed an ongoing infestation. Glancing at the *** site, this is evident. They have disregarded my legal rights as a tenant (health hazard-free living conditions) and my rights under the American Disabilities Act. There are unresolved pest issues in this building, and inadequate communication/communication hurdles.Customer Answer

To whom it may concern,My name is **** **** and I rented the studio apartment 49H of MiMA (a child company of Related) on ************************************* starting from 09/26/2023 - 09/26/2024. There were some bathroom floor stains before I moved in, but was not taken care of during my whole stay there. After I moved out, they wanted to charge me 600 dollars for the cost of floor replacement, which I dont think is my responsibility at all. I have provided all the pictures/videos I took the day I moved in (09/26/2023) to show them that those stains were already there when I moved in and likely caused by the previous tenant. However, they havent responded to them but kept messaging me the fees and the due date. I would like to file a complaint regarding this and have attached all of the proof. Please let me know if you need any other thing from me. Thank you very much! Subject: Request for Investigation Regarding **** *************** and Refund of Invested Funds at ********************************* A2 Dear Members of the Better Business Bureau,I am writing to express my deep concern regarding an investment made under the **** **** program. As investors, we strictly adhered to all the terms and conditions set forth in the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM). Our project, located in ******************, *********, ********, and developed by the prominent developer "****************** *************** A-2 / Related LLC / **** Blow, ***** ****," successfully created the required job conditions and completed the mega-project within the stipulated timelines, which transformed the Manhattan landscape. However, despite the project's successful completion and the fact that we made the investment nine years ago while complying with all the requirements, we have yet to receive the return of our $500,000 investment plus interest. According to the contract, the funds were scheduled to be returned within a five-year period, with automatic one-year renewals for three consecutive years, amounting to a total of eight years. It has now been nine years, and we still have not received our investment return. We contacted Related a year and a half ago and were informed that there are no plans to make investment distributions in the short term and that payments will be at the discretion of Related's Board, meaning there is no set timelinethey will decide at their convenience when to distribute the funds. There is no entity regulating them, imposing deadlines, or enforcing limits. We respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) urgently address this issue to ensure compliance with the relevant financial laws and regulations that protect our rights as American citizens and help resolve this difficult situation.Sincerely,**** ******** ******** ********* The whole situation the letter is attached in a PDF FileInitial Complaint

I moved into ********* at *********, in ******, in November 2021. The summer of 2022, my water heater broke and flooded my apartment. No big deal. These things happen when they're old. After replacing mine and cleaning the apartment, which took maintenance over 2 weeks to do, I told management to check all the other units in my building. They assured me that they would.Since then, to date, my apartment has flooded 4 more times after that. Do to water heaters from neighbors and poor plumbing. The amount of days I had to take off work was ridiculous. Not to mention the many nights I had to stay at a relative's house while my apartment was being "aired out." The baseboards started to accumulate mold, which I practically had to beg for maintenance to replace. My current lease is over in November of this year. I decided in March to break my lease, and moved out on June 3. During this process I have been calling this company multiple times a week, to speak with someone in upper management. Given all the problems I've had at my now previous residence, I don't feel it fair for me to pay the fee for me breaking my lease.I went to the leasing office to speak with yet another new property manager. Whom had just started working there a few days prior to my visit. He said that the fee couldn't be waived because I didn't have any current issues or open maintenance tickets. Which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. Again, I've been calling this corporate number since March and still haven't spoken to anyone other than the receptionist. I'm starting to think she's the only one working there. She won't give me her name and just keeps telling me that she's send the message to management again. Being frustrated is am understatement. I'm enraged. I called the leasing office a couple of days ago to ask about my security deposit. The lady had no record of me moving out or returning my keys. And she's the one I did everything with in her office!Customer Answer

I moved out of my affordable apartment @ ********************************************************** on 10/31/22 and turned in the keys and notified management of my move. I requested my deposit to be mailed to my home address and no one responded to my requests. By law in the ***************** when a tenant moves out the former landlord is supposed to provide a statement but that was never done. I have reached out to the property manager multiple and even the assistance at this building. I have left messages and even emailed ************ and no one has responded to me.Customer Answer

For the last 7 years, I have lived at the ************************* apartment complex in **********, ** (Unit ****). I have serious concerns about Related apartment management practices and the service that is provided to residents. I am concerned about the safety and wellbeing of my fellow residents as well as myself. Since Related purchased the property in 2020, this once "luxury" apartment complex has turned into a slum. For the amount of rent we pay, we should not have to be dealing with the following: Poor communication from management, including inaccessibility by phone or in the office. Trash being left outside of resident apartments which leads to horrendous smells and exposure to unsanitary conditions, including attracting wildlife. Maintenance requests not being attended to in a timely manner due to "lack of maintenance personnel." No onsite security which has allowed for multiple car thefts and vandalism. Way past 10pm quiet hours, there are loud neighbors (including teens and children) and cars racing down the street. (We have young children and pets on the property!) Recently, mail has been diverted to the post office for pick up because the mailboxes are in poor condition where mail can be easily stolen. In addition, I have heard reports from residents that when they first moved in, they arrived to non "made-ready" units with floors missing carpet, filthy appliances, and old warn out appliances. Some others have reported mold issues that have not been addressed. I would like to be able to get out of my lease early (within the next 90 days) without having to pay a reletting fee or additional rent because of the environment I am living in! (My lease is up in May 2023.) Thanks for reading!Customer Answer
