    I purchased a package deal from TopResume for them to apply me to 20 jobs. They used an incorrect resume to all 20 jobs despite me telling them explicit details. The error was significant as it excluded my work history! They offer satisfaction guaranteed and an interview increase. Neither of these have been satisfied. I estimate their mistake has cost me 4+ hours of work and nearly $20k in a salary increase. I request a full refund of $239

    Like many other complaints, I started off by purchasing a Professional Growth Resume Writing Package in hopes of improving my resume and chances of landing a new position. After reviewing my "updated" resume with a recruiter, we discovered that some of the responsibilities listed in my prior roles were misrepresented and nowhere near the industry the company was in.For example: This was listed as a responsibility on a billing coordinator role for a company that is in the Transportation/Trucking industry. The company sold truck parts. "Assisted with medical billing and coding, including entering patient information into billing system"I tried to request for a refund three times, but they have continually refused stating I received the services I asked for when their inaccuracy could have cost me employment opportunities

    I ordered a resume writing package from Top Resume on 2/9/2025. Top Resume claims to write professional resumes that are personalized for each customer. They promise experienced writers who understand your industry. This is far from what I recieved. On 2/12 I recieved my first draft from my assigned writer. I cannot even begin to explain how horribly written the resume was. The format was awful, it was clearly not written by a professional or someone who has knowledge of the healthcare industry, and it was completely unusable. I sent my writer my edits and issues that I had with the resume and his response to me addressed zero of my concerns and went on about the importance of proper grammar and that their formats are top of the line. I then called customer service to complain stating that the writer was not doing a proper job on the resume and not addressing any of my concerns. I was told that they would ask that writer to stop working on my resume and assign a new writer who is one of their top resume writers. On 2/17 I recieved my second first draft with the new writer. This writer had access to all of my information, including the original resume written for me with my edits and complaints. Imagine my surprise when the format is the exact format I had issues with and was not only even worse than the first resume, he had written complete fabrications in my job descriptions. 2-3 fabricated accomplishments for each job description. This is when I contacted custumer service to request a refund. After going back and forth a few times I was told that they submiited my refund request to the internal review team only to be told they do not offer refunds.

    As I have stated before I will no longer be communicating with Top Resume outside of the Better Business Bureau thread. I would also like to add that there was no effort to resolve anything in the email sent to me by your customer care team. The message stated that they have been alerted that I filed a dispute with my credit card company, which I have, and that they will need to work with my banking provider moving forward. That is not an attempt to resolve an issue, just another attempt to waste everyones time.

    On Feb 7, I purchased the Career Confidence package. This came with a lot of perks including a "professionally" written resume and a rewrite of my Linkedin Profile. Firstly, I noticed the person who I was matched with "*****" was never the person writing to me "*****." Secondly, after the FIRST draft, I could tell there was an issue. The writer cut out all ** information about me and only added three lines to each job I held when it came to qualifications. He also didn't highlight my career which the core is **************** I had to write him to ask why and gave him ideas. I had to give HIM ideas. I get a second draft and it's worse than the first. He didn't change anything only added words I used to assist him. I immediately wrote to Top Resume (only four days had transpired) to ask that they cease all services, that this felt like a red flag and I had lost all confidence in their services. Instead of adhering to my request, it was a succession of emails gaslighting me, offering other services to make up for the poor writing and then finally a follow-through of everything I had formally asked them to stop doing. They never acknowledged my requests to cease the work. I had 20 messages back and forth with them asking them to stop. They only kept offering more services. I have not reviewed or used any of the services they continued to provide. I want my money back, not more services. I was denied a refund because they said the written resume had met THEIR standards. Without even using the resume to see if recruiters responded to it, they're claiming it has met their standards. That's not logical thinking. Lastly, I tried to get my purchase history and that was removed. Interesting. So, no receipts will be provided here. This company behaves unethically.

    I'm still getting the same resolution as before, more services in lieu of a refund. I have asked countless times for this company to cease your services, to not continue to create a resume and to stop the re-write a Linkedin profile. I did this all within the time allotted to me; actually in the first four days of service and immediately when I found your resume writing service to be sub par. I am again asking for a refund, nothing more. I have not utilized any of the other services I paid for including the resume or ******** profile. I've not downloaded any of the completed files. Again, Top Resume was asked to stop all services four days after purchase but even now continues to offer more services. This is not a resolution. I do not want to do any business with your company.     On December 16, 2024 I ordered professional resume services from Top Resume that included editing my resume and drafting a cover letter for $369 - Order #: *********** I also ordered a thank you letter, interview prep coaching, and auto-apply as an add on for $135 - Order #: **********. Autoapply gave very specific promises that they would tailor my resume and cover letter to the applications. They did not do this. Instead, they applied to jobs for me without submitting any cover letter and attached the first version of my resume I submitted to them prior to them making any edits! They caused me irreparable harm at about 5 companies by submitting applications with less than the bare minimum standards for applying because my field is very competitive. I demanded a full refund of $504 and they refused to even give me the $135 back. This rises to the level of false advertising and egregious business practices.

    On 12/14/24 I purchased the Executive Priority Plus package, the highest offered package from the company. I submitted my CV hoping to receive a full makeover and impressive new format. The first draft was delivered the 18th and was discombobulated, incoherent, and poorly formatted. When I expressed concern, a revised draft was sent on the 23rd. While more coherent, the resume misrepresented a previous job. A third draft was sent late on 12/26 and the order was closed on 12/27 without the opportunity to give feedback. I was told the documents were in Word and I could change them myself. On 12/28 I politely requested a refund due to my dissatisfaction with the quality of the product delivered since the resulting resume was ***** and turned bullet points into complete sentences. This requires a low level of effort and is unacceptable for an executive service. They suggested they pair me with a more tenured writer who would rewrite my resume. This response was unacceptable because per their own website I was supposed to be paired with a tenured writer and expert from the start of the process. They failed to deliver on the original promise and lost my trust as other emails continued to admit a tenured writer was not offered up front. The company response has been that a new writer assignment is my only option and their team determined the draft met THEIR standards. I responded and let them know their standards further erode the trust I have that this product will ever be acceptable since the previous revision was so poorly done. I will have to edit my own documents from now on, I have not received any assistance applying for jobs as promised on their website. After continuing to reach out to resolve the issue expediently, I received an email dated 1/10 which gives me the impression they will no longer work with me. In summary, I have received poor service, a low effort resume, a generic cover letter that is not specific to me, and have received no other services.

    I requested resume writing support on November 6, 2024. They promise to help you improve your resume for improved applicant tracking compatibility, design and formatting, and keyword/skills. They also promise to have the resume improvements back within a certain time frame. They did not meet the time frame requested, they did not improve the resume and did not respond to requests in a timely manner. The resume "improvement ideas" were not in line with business/professional norms and were not improvements. I requested a refund based on promises not met and they declined to give me a refund.

    I paid for TopResume in order to get a well crafted resume. What I received instead is a re-digestion of my previous resume through the use of ****** Complaints:1. Company used AI to generate products despite advertising that I would receive one of their "top 20% of writers" and a "professionally written resume."Note from my writer detailing their use of AI to craft my resume's content: "Regarding the cover letter (CL), we exclusively use AI for crafting resumes to ensure they are optimized for AI scanners that most recruiters now use for evaluations." 2. Provided feedback multiple times without company addressing the concerns or issues (I have called, requested a new writer, etc. all to still not have received a product as advertised) 3. Received another persons personal information including name (first and last) as well as profession when receiving my resume.4. Company sent the ******** re-write and proceeded to close the feedback review stating documents were ready and approved by me the client.5. Did not receive a Resume Template (resume is in the same format as before except now it contains a header and color) 6. Company issued a second resume (not by request) that was far worse even then the first and is highly inaccurate to my experience and skills.Example Statement from Resume: "Dynamic and resourceful professional with a 12+ years of experience". Twelve years I was a kid.7. Company denied refund despite failure to provide products as advertised.8. Other products I have not received in addition to what is outlined above:- Recruiter Outreach - Interview Coaching session (canceled when requesting a refund)Overall products are poor at best and for the most part unusable (if received at all).

    I ordered resume writing services from Top Resume on 10/30/2024. Specifically, my order was placed at 9:41 am MST on 10/30/2024. A short while later, on 10/30/2024 at 10:44 am MST I ordered additional services, including a 48-hour resume rush service. I did not get a detailed receipt, but I recall the resume rush service was approximately $75 additional dollars. A questionnaire was presented to me which I filled out on the same day. My resume was not delivered to me until 11/2/24 at 5:00 pm. This was in excess of the 48-hour timeframe I paid for. The 48-hour window to deliver my resume expired on 11/1/24. I need to emphasize I prepaid for the 48-hour rush service and did not receive my resume within 48 hours. On 11/5/2024 I reached out via email to Top Resume and asked for a refund as they did not deliver the service I prepaid for within the promised 48 hours. This was the response I received: We are sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the rush service, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused! Please note that our policy states clearly that all sales are typically final so refunding is not a feasible option for us at this stage unfortunately. Do not hesitate to reach out should you need further assistance. We wish you well and hope you have a good day ahead!. While I understand the concept of no refunds if services are delivered as agreed upon, I also understand the concept of breach of agreement, which is exactly what Top Resume did by not delivering the resume within 48 hours as promised. I feel at minimum I should be entitled for a refund of the part of my additional purchase that was for the 48-hour rush fee which I believe was $75.00. I am hoping to see that promise made to me in writing and the money to be refunded otherwise I will not consider my complaint resolved.

    I hired Top Resume on November 4 to write my resume. The resume had to undergo several rewrites as the formatting and grammar were inconsistent. I was only given a week to go back and forth with the writer to do the rewrites. The resume does not look like it is written by a writer but by AI. I also received an AI-generated professional pitch, which makes no sense to me, as you can tell AI did this. The package that I purchased for for $349 includes an interview coach. I also paid another 30 for them to apply for jobs for me; however, not much is on the job board, and no suggestions ever come up for my field.Furthermore, I had made several appointments with the coach, but because of the nature of my job, I had to reschedule. I received a message stating that I could not reschedule per the policy and that I was being assigned a new coach. The new coach has no appointments available (I believe this was purposely done). I am the client, and if I need to reschedule (I shouldn't need to give a reason), that is my right. I am not happy with my top resume and the service provided, and I would like my money back.

    I am not satisfied and would like a refund. I have right to reschedule a coaching session when I need to. I am the client and those running the coaching sessions need to be more accommodating. Also, I paid to have the resume auto replied and that was taken away from me. I really want a refund of the money for both the resume and auto-reply. I feel the advertising shows deceptive practices and I wouldn't use the resume going forward. It is very messy and does not flow very well. This is a lot of money to pay to not be satisfied.
