On April 12, 2021 I visited a CITYMD for mouth pain. After a brief exam the Dr diagnosed me as potentially having TMJ. There was NO treatment - just a diagnosis. The $300 bill was submitted to my medical insurance and was not covered. My medical insurance had advised me to have CityMD resubmit under my DENTAL plan so it would covered. They have not yet submitted it under my dental plan, yet continue to harass me for a payment of $225. Their billing **** is impossible to get in touch with, as their wait times are over an hour each time. For the past year, I have been on numerous calls with numerous CityMD reps, and this still has not been rectified. I am a recent college grad and am worried about how this will affect my credit rating which is why I am reaching out for help.Customer Answer

I went to the CityMD in *********** back in May of 2020 for Covid testing. I was told to provide my insurance information but that the testing was free of charge. Over 2 years later I received an email stating I have a past due bill for over $200. This is truly unacceptable. *** tried calling the phone number provided multiple times but no one ever answers. I tried emailing and it says the domain does not exist. I really need to speak to a human and get this resolved asap.Customer Answer

Attempting to accept the new marketing about trusting horrendous CITYMD after spending almost a month in hours on hold to get test results and after care last year, I went to CityMD in extreme pain and rectal bleeding. I shared what had been giving me even the most minute solace in prescription ointment. The doctor ***** validate my pain, shoved her fingers up my r***** with extreme force when taking a look, which left me tearing and the nurse concerned. I told her I needed something to manage the pain until I could see the doctor they were going to refer me to, given the weeks wait time. The medical professional at the ***** ****** *** ******ay location, named ********************** decided instead to steal more of my money by prescribing me a steroid very similar to Preparation-H and put me back on the street before saying I could go to the ** instead for my pain. The rep ******* agreed after seeing me and hearing me on the phone I needed something to help with the pain. She tried to advocate for me and then when she left for the day , the rest of the team just kept putting me on hold / sending me to voicemails. Uptown ones always mistreat their patients and I feel for anyone that comes in with even more serious illnesses, such as Monkeypox.Initial Complaint

I visited CityMD ****************************************** in mid July, and when I checked in and made my co-pay, I was told that I had some legacy unpaid bills, but no one could provide any details on what they were for ($70 Copay and $132.56 in other payments on 7/15/22). I was told to make the payment, then call the ************ phone number for details. Ive called three times, and after waiting on hold for 30+ minutes each time to speak to someone, gave up and have resorted to email. I have sent two emails, and both have gone without response for nearly three weeks.I visited that ********* location a few times over the past couple years, primarily for COVID tests. The medical assistance has been great, but the billing has been more challenging to understand. If it is helpful, my name is ***************************. My addresses over that period of time include:55 ********************************************************** ***************************************************************************** ******************************************************** I have had the same ***************** information throughout this period.I believe that the $132.56 I was asked to pay relates to a 10/28/21 visit ($66.28 amount due) from ********************************* and a 12/23/21 visit ($66.28 amount due) from *******************. Both of these visits were solely for COVID tests. I'm not sure why I am being charged for these visits, given both my health insurance and federal government policies in place at the time. If you could clarify, that would be helpful.I'd also like to note that it states that these were only partially covered by insurance (the document I downloaded from the CityMD website states I have ************ HMO). Technically, I have a Fidelis Exchange plan.I also noticed that on my 7/15/22 bill from last week, it states that my insurance is ************ ********* Replacement - HMO). I don't think that is accurate. I previously emailed a picture of my insurance card, as I was asked to do, and that email went without a response.Customer Answer

I have over $400 charges for Std testing from city md at 33rd st I went to one at * **********. They said my insurance was in network and my insurance ended up to covering none to barely any of it. This should be covered under the *** as well. My insurance covers preventive health care too. I went i for the testing around the 17th of July and got two medical bills for $270 and $167. This is clearly a mistake and I want to ask them to submit to my insurance again to correct this charge. I tried calling their billing department and no one would answer and I was on hold for 30 minutes with no answer. i tried calling again for 15 minutes on hold with no answer. They dont answer emails. They have the same complaints from others being over charged and not answering their phone. I even tried emailing them last week to no available.Initial Complaint

BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO CITY-MD FOR ***** TESTS- NEITHER OF ** SEEKED TREATMENT.AND NONE WAS GIVEN. WE HAVE BOTH RECENTLY BEEN BILLED BY CITY-MD FOR A COPAY. I HAVE TRIED CALLING CITYMD BUT THEY DO NOT ANSWER DESPITE STAYING ON HOLD FOR HOURS, PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON CITY MD'S WEB-SITE I SHOULD CONTACT MY INSURANCE CARRIER, SO I DID, I WAS TOLD THAT CITY MD BILLED THEM FOR TREATMENT, NOT A ***** TEST AND THAT **** HAS BEEN PAID. THEY ALSO ADVISED ME THAT I SHOULD CONTACT CITY MD AND SAY THAT IF THEY ARE SEEKING THE COPAYS FROM US THEY NEED TO REBILL THE INSURNACE CARRIER FOR JUST THE ***** TESTS SO THAT WE WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY COPAY. I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU BECAUSE I CANNOT REACH THEM TO GET RESOLVED.*************************** BILLING *****************/ ACCOUNT #******* DA E OF SERVICE 4/9/20211 *********************** BILLING ID- **************/ ACCOUNT #******* DATE OF SERVICE 3/25/202 PLEASE HELP AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORTS! ***********************************Initial Complaint

I went to CityMD for a covid test on July 4th, 2022. A nurse or nursing assistant performed the entire procedure. I was not billed at their offices but a claim was submitted to my insurer a few days later. But instead of a bill that reflected the actual services provided (covid test), CityMD billed my visit as a "New Patient Visit" instead. Under the CARES act, covid tests should be covered and my insurer will cover the cost if and only if the Covid test is submitted. I did manage to speak with their team once, and they told me that my insurance would have to insinuate the the Covid test was performed because a diagnosis was given. But my insurance said that is not the case. The insurance company has also tried numerous times to get the provider to update their claim to include the Covid test, but to no avail! CityMD knows exactly what procedure was performed (and what was diagnosed), so I don't understand why they aren't willing to adjust the billing! Based on online research, this is something CityMD has done to multiple patients! People trying to get a covid diagnosis in order to reduce community spread may be turned off from testing due to all the additional work needed to get billing issues like this resolved.Initial Complaint

I went to CityMD in Astoria, ** for a COVID test on May 25, 2020. It was the height of the pandemic and I was terrified to leave the house but I had run a fever and had to make sure I hadn't contracted the virus. They told me at the visit that I wouldn't be charged anything. Now, 2 years later, they sent me a **** for $200 and it is impossible to reach them for resolution. I already spoke with my insurance company and they have revised the claim. They say I don't owe anything. CityMD needs to step up. If they continue to hound me for this money I will have to take legal action.Customer Answer

On 5/24/2022, I went to a City MD site located at ***********************************************. I had a physical completed for a job. I was told by the physician completing my physical (***************************) that lab work was included and that I wouldn't incur any extra charges outside of what was being charged for my physical (totaling $225.00). I returned on 06/06/2022 to pick up my lab results and the same rhetoric was repeated to me (no further charges would be incurred since I had already paid $225.00 out of pocket for my physical which included lab work). I've recently received a bill for $830.15 from Quest Diagnostics charging me for lab work. I've contacted the site and they were unable to resolve this issue. I will not be taking on these extra charges because City MD's on site physician (***************************) and staff reiterated to me on both days (05/24/2022 and 06/06/2022) that all lab work was covered/included in my physical. No further information was provided to me as a patient on either day about receiving billing from Quest Diagnostic.Initial Complaint
