Brought my dog (******) to the East End Veterinary Center. My dog was in extreme distress. They sent me home with over the counter allergy meds(at $78 at CVS $30) and an antibiotic and said it was seasonal allergies. I was very upset because my dog is 13 years old an was in more distress then just seasonal allergies. She told me the dog would get worse before getting better. I questioned her and asked about possible steroids and something to help with her extreme discomfort. I was told if it gets worse to bring her back... I asked if this would be a follow up visit if I had to come back... she said no, it would be ****** to come back. I explained to her I just head neck surgery and out of work now, trying to handle the dog in this condition was alot. I also explained my father had just passed away days before and I wanted to make sure my dog was going to be ok. Just hours after leaving the Hospital my dog got worse. My poor dog was suffering so bad, I truly thought I would have to put her down. The allergy pills did nothing... it takes a couple weeks for them to take affect (useless). About a day or 2 later I wet back after coming home from my fathers funeral, my dog was throwing her self onto the floor violently and smashing her head into walls and furniture. I went back and saw another *** she was obviously surprised how the first *** felt with this case. Needless to say my bill all together came to almost *******. We almost put my dog down that second evening, even the 2nd *** was contemplating that as an option. I made a formal complaint that evening with pictures. Everyone in that office that evening was disturbed by what may poor dog looked like, and was going through. I made numerous call and sent emails trying to speak with the supervisor this facility, I was ghosted every time. When I finally spoke with ****************** he was insulting rude and condescending. My entire family was effected by this situation.

We still haven't received any information about biopsy results, received reimbursement on overcharged fees and this was our experience with staff; Our dog was operated on by **************** and he was the ONLY one who was professional at this veterinary center. Theyre understaffed and our dog had to sit in a cage 8 hours because the surgeon was too busy to bandage her. The secretary for the surgery department only talks to you ONCE and only about billing procedures and then doesnt answer the phone, doesnt return calls, sends e-mail responses without explaining anything regarding billing which is not at all clear nor does she forward urgent messages to the surgeon. When calling to get someone to answer questions about our dogs post surgery symptoms we were hung up on! Then, the staff director, ************************************* got on the phone and said, You cant get much higher up than me. then she proceeded to hang up on me after repeatedly interrupting me. She talked over my pleas for help with my dog as she stated wed be e-mailed instructions on going elsewhere for our dogs symptoms and follow up appointment after interrupting me again and hung up on me AGAIN. These two women would be perfect employees at a meat packing facility for the amount of compassion and respect we were shown and the level of care they have for our poor dog. Please be warned that youre going to be treated with disrespect and may end up losing your pet in their incompetent care due to the lack of professionalism and competence of this companys staff. This center wants your payment which is ALL THEY CARE ABOUT & then your dog could live or die they really dont care. We are filing complaints with:************** Veterinary *************** ********************************* at NYSED ***************** Affairs *** Attorney General We are also leaving reviews to prevent others from this experience which is a consistent issue at this facility as youll see when reading other reviews.

My family took our dog to this place after she had gotten ran over by a car and this was (UNFORTUNATELY) the only place open during that time (around 9:45 pm). So, they took her to this horrible place and they seemed to empathize at first and told my family members that our dog wasn't looking too well and that she might be in a life-threatening situation. This should've been the first red flag we should've noticed, but we were in so much distress that we did not realize that they were giving us super vague updates about our dog without having even said what they found to be the actual conditions our dog was in. Another thing, when they finally came out with "results" they had taken x-rays of our dog's pelvis and said that the bladder could possibly be ruptured but that they weren't sure until they opened up our dog for surgery to insert metal plates into her broken pelvis. Okay, so first, they tell us our dog might be a life or death situation then when my mother tells them that if she is then to put her down, they suddenly change up their dialogue and start saying "oh no, she can be saved she only has some fractures and a split on both the left and right side of her pelvis." Again, I feel as if they took advantage of our distress and took the opportunity to start claiming that our dog could be saved if we pay for the surgery and pay for the overnight stay so they can run multiple tests on her to see if she has any other issues. To our surprise, they send us an "estimation" in my email to confirm the estimated price of what the surgery(ies) could cost and they are such tricksters because the way they worded the email sounds as if they simply want you to approve that you acknowledge that it could end up costing up to THOUSANDS of dollars and if you approve it. In actuality means that they will immediately hackle you for the money and start calling you up with how you would like to proceed with the payment. Okay, fine, whatever. It's paid for (UNFORTUNATELY). Then, we wait for the next day to come to which the receptionist had said would be when the veterinarian, Dr. ********** would be in and able to perform the surgery, but NOPE turns out the receptionist was wrong and the vet would be in the NEXT day meaning they would be charging us the high-end cost because they have a low end and a high-end cost and of course they want to scavage for more money so they either purposefully told us the wrong schedule for this Dr. ********* or they are all really incapable of communicating with one another to see when people are scheduled to come into work. Regardless, the doctor performed the surgery, great, right? Well, you see my mother needed a translator to help her out with certain sentences in English and so they got a translator to come in and help out, this translators "name(s)" was ****** ***** *****- who even knows at this point as she clearly didn't want to be held accountable for not really doing what she was hired to do. Anyways, this ***** **** ***** translator was supposed to be HELPING a woman out with her desperate questions as we are not swimming in high-income gainings and so she was simply questioning why they were charging her as if our dog was a large dog, and why there were certain things done badly to the poor dog. Oh boy, you guys. this Dr. ********* did a WONDERFUL job at the stitching and the insertion of the metal plates to help heal up the broken pelvis process - NOT- as our dog managed to save her bladder and so it was only her fractured pelvis that was causing her pain and luckily no bladder ruptures. Dr. ********* did a horrible job stitching up our dog's open wounds as you could see the clear split in her skin and the stitching looked jagged as well as loosely stitched and as if it would open up any second. Anyways, this translator seemed to get very annoyed at all the incoming questions that my mother was asking as money is something she does not have much of due to being limited to too much hard work as she herself has suffered many losses and surgical procedures due to growths that needed to be stopped ASAP. Anyways, the translator didn't seem to care for her questions and would not really bother asking the vet these questions and would simply tell her to speak with billing because that wasn't her job. Meanwhile, it is her job to translate including, but not limited to, the vet and billing department. These people were all about the money and whenever my mother would have this supposed translator try and help her translate the translator would dismiss and disregard the VERY VALID questions my mother had. After the surgical procedure on our dog, they told us that they might need to keep our dog an extra day or two and that that would be an EXTRA cost due to it being over the 7-day original charge amount that they charged us. So, basically, they just wanted more money to keep our dog there for even more time not even because it was necessary but just because they wanted to. I'm saying this because my mother had confronted them and asked why they needed that and they gave some vague answers basically saying just because and then the translator got rude and dismissive with my mother as my mother grew more frustrated with her because she did not want to ask that to the billing department (mind you this was over the phone) because it wasn't her job to do so, like what. Anyways, then the translator decided she would just speak to me in English over the phone as my mom got ***et that they were trying to take advantage of our sentiments towards our poor 9lb dog's conditions. When the translator got on the phone with me she decided to be completely unprofessional and voice her opinion about my mother being a "difficult person" and that she "can't believe she pulled that on (her)." I was appalled at the fact that this woman thought that it was okay to just say that aloud when you are supposed to maintain calm despite how infuriated you may get with a customer. As a result of this, this woman calls me up the next day while I am at work, and I have to excuse myself from work and walk outside to go talk to this lady over the phone to which she begins pressuring me to make a decision on whether or not to take the dog because she asked the vet if she would just let us take the dog so that we wouldn't have to waste any more money to which I reply "well if we can take her home that would be perfect" and I said this as calmly and as politely as I could muster up and she gave me an attitude and started raising her voice at me and repeating herself as if I didn't understand her the first time. Then, I begin to tear up and choke up because this woman is now emotionally distressing me and causing me to have a mental breakdown while I'm at work because she's yelling at me telling me that "you can take the dog home, but I need you to come in to pick her up today because we have written instructions here to give you and your mother." And so I reply, completely choked up while crying now and saying "listen, I'm not trying to be rude or mean or anything. This is a genuine question I have. Is it absolutely necessary for her to stay the two extra days because if it is then okay I will pay," to which she yelled at me again stating that I can take the dog home but that I need to be present at the time of picking her up. I replied that I couldn't as I had a very busy work schedule and on top of that I am going to night school. She seemed absolutely agitated that I said this and said that she couldn't give the dog if I couldn't make it because I would have to be there if we were going to pick her up after like 5pm because apparently she wasnt going to be there after 5 pm. I again told her I can't make it and so it would be my mother picking her up and probably around 7pm to which she got quite flustered and I had to explain the crazy amount of stress I was in as I cried to her because she didn't seem to care that I couldn't make it so I had to get personal and explain in tears that I had things going on behind curtains and only then did she kind of calm down. Alright, so then we get our dog back again in a really horrible condition not just because she was just recently operated on but because they gave us a bad cone for her that didn't fit her neck and was choking her and with a terribly-done stitch job. Then two follow-*** later this translator once again stirs up emotional distress in my family. My mother went to the second follow-up around a month and a half later and this woman is supposed to TRANSLATE, not act as if she has the say and as if she's the one in charge, but no. Instead, when my mother tells the translator that she's noticed a piece of metal sticking out of our dog's hip the translator doesn't say a WORD, picks up our dog, and leaves to the back to "translate" aka say whatever it is she wants to the vet, who then comes barging in through the door YELLING AND INSULTING/HUMILIATING MY MOTHER TELLING HER TO "SIT DOWN" AND POINTING DOWN AS IF SHE WERE COMMANDING A DOG TO SIT DOWN TO A HUMAN BEING! Why!? All because this ***** **** ***** translator woman decided it'd be funny to go and spout evil mutterings under her breath to the vet about what my mom said. I highly DOUBT that this woman went and told the vet that my mother had simply asked what the metal piece was in the dog's poor little hip was. I genuinely think this woman had a vendetta towards my mother simply because my mother needed help translating as her pronunciation isn't always the best in English, BUT, my mother understands the majority of it and so she noticed that the translator was giving vague answers as to what the vet's responses truly were and that she wasn't fully translating what my mom was trying to explain to the vet. Anyways, at the end of the day, the vet kicked my mother out of the vet center and my mother called the police to file a report as this was clearly an injustice being done not just to her but to our poor dog! Even the cops said that what they were charging for our small 9lb dog was as if they were charging for a really big dog and that this translator seemed to have gotten into an agreement with everyone else to treat my mother in this unjust form. ON TOP OF THAT! The cops gave her a vet recommendation on where else to take our dog for the follow-up as they didn't even actually look at our dog at this follow-up and so my mother did just that and she went to another vet a bit further up the island and when they checked our dog's x-rays, OH THE HORROR! They found that our poor baby had a broken metal ***** on the left side of her pelvis where Dr. ********* performed surgery AND that the piece of metal sticking out wasn't part of the staples that they had LATER put on after we called out their bad stitching job -that looked as if it would open up any second- but that it was IN FACT A PIECE OF WIRE THAT THE DR. ********* LEFT WRAPPED AROUND THE ***** PLATE AND HAD STUCK OUT AND PIERCED THROUGH HER HEALING WOUND!!! I AM FURIOUS AND UPSET AND STRESSED OUT OVER OUR POOR DOG BECAUSE NOW SHE HAS TO SUFFER FROM THIS AND ON TOP OF THAT SHE CAN'T FEEL THREE OF HER POOR LITTLE TOES! ADDITIONALLY, this vet told us that they couldn't fix it for her because they were not the ones who had operated on her, to begin with, and that unfortunately, it would have to be whoever operated on her, to begin with, that would need to fix it. If I could give these people zero stars I would, they do NOT deserve that 4.0-star rating on ****** and shouldn't even be left in charge of the poor animals that go in there to get help because they clearly don't care about the animals and they took their anger out on my poor baby simply they didn't like being questioned about every little thing that is important to know about such as the procedure, the things used, the medications, and the pricing!

This veterinary center does not deserve even a star. Frankly they are quite rude with their customer service specifically their translator, *****, she has been the most rude person I have ever encountered. Not only did she attend us but she kept acting as if she was the veterinarian herself and she was not properly translating for us when we needed the assistance. I was unable to attend the visitations for our dog but my mother went instead and she mainly speaks Spanish. The translator would treat her as if she was a nuisance and would give her lots of attitude simply because my mother was trying to ask simple questions about why they were double charging her for the first night and they dismissed it and said it was part of it and even created a new receipt due to that. On top of that this woman called me at my job when I was having a stressful day and kept pressuring me to come to an appointment when I was completely booked for the day and was giving me an attitude over keeping our dog for an extra day. Turns out the extra day was not even necessary and I asked her kindly if it was an absolute must that our dog needed to stay there I even had to justify myself and tell her that Im not trying to be rude it was just a genuine question because she was raising her voice at me and taking out her anger on me. On top of that I began crying over the phone because she was being extremely rude and dismissive of what I was trying to say. I truly wish they speak with her or hold her accountable for the way she treats people she is supposed to be helping out instead of being rude and an awful person to them. It is already unfair enough for them to be unable to speak English properly and for the one person who knows how to speak their native language to be treated rudely is absolutely ridiculous to me. Im sure theyll know exactly who I am as they persistently kept tabs on us and even decided to treat us harshly and rudely just because of a few misunderstandings because once again this ***** translator wanted to act as if she was the veterinarian herself and kept telling my mom only whatshe wanted to tell her rather than properly explaining in detail what the vet was truly saying about our dogs broken pelvis. Unfortunately I was not there to defend my mom and try to calm the situation so the situation escalated because lord knows what ***** the translator told the veterinarian that my mom said but all my mom had said was that our dog still had a little piece of metal in her leg due to the staples they stapled up her surgical wounds with only after they noticed that they did a terrible job with stitching it up but once again Im pretty sure they simply had a vendetta against her because the translator was giving attitude and my mom was only trying to ask questions to get the reassurance that they werent accidentally overcharging her nor that they were trying to take advantage of her lack of being able to properly speak English. Yes, she knows how to speak English but unfortunately people have always mocked the accent and some of the mispronunciations so she felt more comfortable with a translator and so she thought that this would be quite helpful but instead the translator turned everyone against her only because she didnt feel like answering my moms questions fully and felt the need to give her attitude when they spoke. Honestly, if I could give them a 0 star rating I totally would because Im sick and tired of people only telling their side of the story and acting like they are always in the right despite them completely blowing us off and not hearing her out and only saying what they wanted to say to cause more trouble and hardships for others. You dont know what people have been through and you dont know what causes them to tick. People need to be more understanding and more patient despite it being difficult at times. It isnt fair for you to go into a place thinking theyll help you out and then they go and turn their backs on you and treat you like garbage just because they didnt like how inquisitive you are, etc.
