    Do not do business with this company. My 2 business day delivery took 3 weeks to arrive. When I inquired with customer support I was accused of giving them an incorrect address. When I sent a screen shot proving my shipping address was correct and voicing my concern over the health status of live aquatic plants held over in a box for weeks because of a ***** shipping error, I was told to wait and see how the plants looked when they arrived. When I received the plants they were brown and rotted. I sent pictures of the rotted plants to customer support live chat and received no reply. Finally I called Modern Aquarium and the person who picked up told me everyone was too busy to get back to me right away and maybe someone would get back to me in a day or two! No apologies, no refunds, no healthy plants. I was ripped off. The Modern Aquarium website promises healthy stock and fast shipping- They do not honor this. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!!

    I do not recommend giving your business to this company. I purchased an aquarium as a surprise gift and it arrived poorly packaged, no styrofoam, no bubble wrap, absolutely nothing to protect the glass except two thin layers of cardboard. They sent a replacement in the same exact packaging and of course it was shattered. My gift was not there by the surprise date and I never received an intact aquarium, as advertised. They refused to send an intact aquarium and offered 50% store credit. After reading the reviews, the store credit would mean nothing to me since all their plants and animals seem to arrive in poor condition or even dead. They only offered to give a full refund after I had put in a claim with my credit card company. Really abysmal service. I wish I wouldve read reviews here and on Reddit before purchasing. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

    I received my plants in a timely manner which is good, however, the plants came in plastic bags with no water to keep them moist. They looked kind of iffy to begin with, but I planted them regardless.Now I will add here the I am very well experienced in live aquarium plants, having had multiple aquariums and years of planting and growing them.2 of the 4 plants died within a week of planting and a third is on its way out. This is about the worst way to spend 30 plus dollars. I just thought I would give them a try as they had this special going on. Now i realize why they were "special". These were about the worst quality of plants that i ever bought and no response from Modern Aquarium about the matter as of yet.Don't waste your money on them, I already did that for you.

    I have ordered here two times, and the second time I realized why I hated them. Their plant packages are extremely small for what you get, first off. If you get a 12 plant package you truly get 6 different plants with 2 plants of the same. They are usually a stem each, too. I got more plants from one bundle at my local pet store, for a 10th of the price. That, and the plants from modern aquarium are in poor condition, they are mush by the time you get them, as they dont send any water with them, to cut down on shipping cost. The driftwood is a joke, too. Its no where near what they advertise, and I got blocks of wood essentially. Nothing cool about them, not worth the money they charge. Not only that- they monitor their reviews, and only let their good ones go through- so their ratings on their products are not true reflections of their products! So it looks like they have a 4 or 5 star review on a good chunk of their products, but reviewing this and their ******** page, that is no where close. Their staff is incredibly rude, too. I sent a message on their ******** page and website- they advertise they respond the same day, but it took me 3 days to get a response. My package got stuck over the weekend- they did not care about this, and said the plants were fine. I knew they wouldnt be- I got my package 4 days late and only 2 looked good, and they werent part of the bundle. At this point I started a claim with PayPal- because I knew I would have to fight hands and teeth with their 100% alive arrival or whatever. They took forever to respond to PayPal, and PayPal actually chose on my side without them responding on the last interactions. Also, my driftwood was thrown into a box with no protection on it whatsoever. There wasnt any stems to break on them, but imagine if there was!

    Please know we have reviewed all communications and found that staff was extremely sympathetic but we were limited in our options since the address you provided was not correct which caused the delivery issues. Providing accurate address sis needed in order to receive plants and proper condition. There were multiple stems per bunch plants as well. Thank you

    i have ordered twice to this company, first order was canceled because they didn't have fish stock, second order was plants, no contact no order had to contact bank to get a refund, never again will i order from this company or s*** business,,,

    DON'T BELIEVE the 100% Live guarantee!! I've been a loyal customer for over two years and the FIRST time I had dead snails delivered, I asked for a replacement shipment. Not only did I not get replacements, but they would only give me a partial refund equaling less than half my payment to them! I tried very nicely to get them to make it right and I was finally told that "this is the way it is". They have definitely lost my future business.

    Yes, after reviewing the live chat transcript, our customer service did make a mistake. You had 2 sets of snails purchased and our store understood as if only one set had an issue. We will correct this and issue a refund for the remainder, our apology.
