AAA uses this company for towing in Ashtabula - my 77 year old mother needed her car towed to a local garage - she was told she would be charged per actual mile - Davis Towing charged HER for 27 and AAA for 3 miles for a total of 30 miles, actual miles should have been 19.3! She was over charges by 8 miles, which may not seem like a lot, except when your living on a fixed income! SHAME ON YOU DAVIS TOWING For exploiting the elderly!!

Can you please let us know the date of service so we can look into this for you?

I have gone over records from this time period and I believe I have located your mothers tow appointment on 03/08/2023. If her name is ******* and her car was towed to * *** * ******* ****** ** ***** ********** the total mileage towed was 6. She is a classic member so AAA covers the first 3 miles. She should have been charged $21 in overages based on our contracted overage rate of $7 per mile. Our drivers are independent contractors responsible for collecting overages. Please let me know exactly how much she was charged by ***** ****** and if it was cash or credit. We do tell our drivers to be sympathetic to people especially in these situations where it was only 3 miles in overages. The typical overage situation has a rate of $7 a loaded mile because they usually take our trucks far out of our service area and we do not receive compensation from AAA for deadhead miles and time(miles back to shop). In this situation we would be happy to refund your mother $21 and if she was charged a higher amount we need to address this immediately with the driver and will refund the amount paid. Please let us know how much she was charged by us and method of payment. I did see a note in the aaa call feed that her membership was expired and she paid to renew it, that was paid to aaa and not us.
