I am well aware that the warranty is expired. As the current owner of the home built by KHov, I believe I am entitled to know issues that were not disclosed to me that were supposedly “fixed”. I am very disgusted by the poor quality of work, as I pointed out in my original complaint. How can baseboards be wavy? How can a large crack that goes from the bottom of the window to the floor not be covered before the end of the warranty? I thought doors leading from the house to the garage had to be fire safe (self closing). Isn’t that code? It’s obvious that KHov doesn’t care, as they have “better lawyers” as stated in other complaints. The company is huge and constructs houses like they are on an assembly line. The quicker the better with no regard for quality.

Self-closing doors were removed from the code years ago, the garage service door only requires to be fire rated.

Far as the other concerns we followed the NHAB guidelines.

No further action will be considered with the above concerns.

I purchased a home in a 55+ community built by KHovnanian. The home was three years old. There were issues that were not disclosed by the original owners. The wall in the great room had been torn out twice to fix bowed studs. The repair work is sub par. The baseboard trim is now wavy, because of the repair. The floors are not level. The home is on a slab with no subfloor, thus they are uneven.. None of the interior doors are level, and three of them will not close. Most of the cabinet doors are not level. There are trim pieces missing such as the “drip pan” for the threshold of the door to the garage, which is not a fire-safe door. The water pressure is very low in the faucet in the master bath. There is a large crack underneath the south window and on the ceiling in the dining room. The homes in this development were built very cheaply, but the homeowners were charged a premium for them!

So I wrote a review on this website before because if issues with garage door, paint and bathroom. Now after less then 3 years living in this house we have to replace all the windows because if how horrible they were installed!!!! THREE years!!!!!! Beyond upset is an understatement. We brought this concern up in our warranty time and the guy was a joking saying we have no wind block thats the issue well nope you guys just suck! I repeat never build with them! Over $300,000 house and still putting thousands into to fixing all their mistakes. Makes me sick.

We are truly sorry you feel this way. With it being 2 degrees and 40 to 60 MPH winds gust this weekend we cant control the windows leaking some cold air. This is beyond a builders control.

BBB review of KHov I wrote: I am very disappointed in the quality of construction of our home that was built 4 years ago. The day they poured the basement we had 17 cracks in our basement floor. After many years of arguing and getting Construction Engineers involved they have told us that they are washing their hands of our situation with no solution to fixing our shattered basement. We have had nothing but issues with the service people returning phone calls, lying about contacting people when they did not actually do it (we called the other people to check), and not returning phone calls or emails promptly. I will never ever build another house with KHov. Wouldn’t care if they were the last builder on the face of the earth. Their comment to us when this first happened was “Go ahead and take this to arbitration (since their contract states that you can’t sue them). Our lawyers are better than yours.” Pretty gutsy for a company that is in the “service” industry. That quote came from a former military soldier who was the Construction Project Engineer who obviously doesn’t understand the meaning of integrity.. Buyers beware!

We signed a contract in the summer of 2021. Despite our repeated inquiries, meetings, site visits, and correspondences were continually delayed for months at a time. We did not break ground until June 2022. We were passed from one manager to another, and that back to that same original manager. We have had 4 different construction site leads. Once the walls were poured, it was discovered that a footer was placed incorrectly by us, not Khov. This delayed us several weeks. Start dates are promised and never made. I am often calling the construction lead saying x or y party didn't show up as promised to work today and am met with surprise as Khov wonders what happened. We were asked multiple times to send checks to cover things that were accidentally left out of our original contract. They almost made us pay for a second change order despite us already having paid for the service in a previous change order. We finally have the frame of the house built, but the siding was delivered a month ago and still sits untouched and the house exposed to the elements. Plumbing/hvac/electrical was supposed to be finished a week ago. Plumbing still isn't completed. We are getting fined by our mortgage company for the length of time it has taken to built our home, with all delays stemming from Khov's lack of organization, communication, and ability to deliver nearly any service in a timely matter. Who knows if we'll ever have a finished home at this rate.
