Nothing nice to say about the quality and the interaction with Morris. Paid almost 5 figures for chip and seal driveway. Left a mess. The driveway looked worse after they left. Dropped gravel in the ditch, left tar spots around the siding of house where driveway is. Was told that the one spot on side of driveway, where we had a tree cut down and stump grind into a neat pile with tarp covering it. That pile had tire marks and the guy got stuck. I contacted Morris and he was rude, disrespectful and acted like I was the problem. I sent him/company a email with pictures and I get a call and I was in a surgical consultation and I'll call back. He texted 4 times in a row. Finally speak with him, he is irritated and asks me why I sent a email. The fact he didn't say anything about working out discrepancies at the end of the call nor about supplying a receipt as i asked 3 times for one. That's I sent 2 emails because I couldn't load all the pictures. Said he could send them out that day or mumbled about July but it would cost him thousands of dollars. We spent nearly 5 figures and didn't care about the consumer here. Didn't give me a specific date if they were coming. He proceeded to say, and I quote from Morris, "I am tired of hearing from you and I never want to hear from you again!" Because I called about the job? Because we did try to talk to the crew and felt on deaf ears. A few days ago, no heads up and they're at our house. They fixed the driveway, not what we expected and not too happy with for us spending so much on this "fix". I did at least get our receipt and on the contract it did say what we wanted!!!! BTW, it wasn't exactly what we paid for. For shotty service and if you have to call back, you get the distinct pleasure of being talked down to, hear raised voice and an attitude, you got the place. Steer clear of this company. As you can see the other reviews and complaints.

When Lisa called and had some minor detail issues I sent my crew back out within a few days of her call she told my crew she was happy and have not heard any issues from her since we are eager to satisfy her as so far we done extra work for her just to be nice but even that was overlooked by Lisa

Chip Seal Paving has proven to be long on promises but a little short on results. When weeds began to come up two weeks after the application process, I called to request a redo; the talks did not go well -- the owner ended by telling me to go to church. I then wrote to say that for $10,000 I would expect at least some consideration -- he reluctantly said that he would come out and spray, even though he was under no such obligation. Needless to say, he has not shown up and I'm sure he won't. My words of wisdom to others would be not to rely on what is said. The crew worked hard, but failed to adequately prepare the drive before applying the tar and stone -- and they left some tar on the side of the garage, as well. It would be best to check out other providers. They might prove to be nicer to talk to and more accommodating to your requests -- like providing a paper statements.

We had our driveway done in Sept 2021. He said would be in about 2 weeks. A little over 2 weeks went by heard nothing. Called a few times to check the status. Told us to stop rushing him. Finally had the driveway done and after, noticed the new section was squishy. We could step on it and see it bounce. He told us he didn't want to roll that section yet. We could also see mud and tar coming through the loose gravel on top. Within 2 weeks there were weeds coming through everywhere! The edges of the driveway are not even remotely straight. He told us that everything we were seeing was expected and that he knew he would have to come back in the spring to touch some stuff up. Over the winter the end of our driveway developed some pot holes. So we called July 18, 22 just to say we have this issue and a small area to spot in where it lost everything and is just mud. And the weeds are out of control and we have spent a lot of money spraying. So we want to use our 1 year warranty you provide just to have it corrected. He said he would come out and look at it and see what he needed, to get it fixed. And he would spray for weeds at that time. He came out July 21st and sprayed the weeds and visualized what needed fixed. Finally today 8/11/22 his crew came out. They did not fix the fill in spot. I called him to ask why or if they were coming back and he told me that it was my job to go outside and tell them what I wanted fixed. I told him i had to work and have children inside. He proceeded to start screaming at me and using the F word and couldn't understand why I didn't go out and tell them what I wanted them to fix. I put my phone on speaker so my husband could hear him screaming at me to the point you couldn't understand him. He doesn't let you talk. He is a nasty person and should not be running a business! I told him do not come back or call. He called again left a VM said would have guys out tomorrow if I apologized? I want nothing to do with him! Waste of 20,000!

Chip seal paving is not cheap and can be problematic. This was my second application which, on top of the first coat, will make it good for many years. I can't say enough about the company. They corrected the problem areas, before coating, and went beyond what I expected. It is unusual to find 'pride of labor' and friendly attitudes. This is a family operation and it shows in my new driveway.

I wish I would have read the reviews on here before allowing this company to do our driveway. What a joke. I have never been more disappointed in any thing in my life. They did this in November, 2021. We were concerned that it was too late in the season to do it, but we were assured it would be fine. We were also told that it would pack down fine, and it would be like the roads that we drive on. Some areas are solid like expected, but a lot of it is not. One reason we wanted it was to control spraying weeds in the driveway. He told us that we would probably have to spray the edges at the beginning of spring to control them, but after that we would be fine. Well, it's a train wreck. We have grass and weeds coming up everywhere. The stones basically lay on top of the driveway. It's impossible to blow leaves, or use the snowblower on this driveway without blowing the stones around. There are areas of blacktop exposed, I was told to rake some of the loose stones over on top of the areas-they would give the driveway "character". He told us last fall that if we weren't happy with the driveway that they would come back in the spring and fix it. I spoke with the company this week and was told that I should expect these"loose" stones, that's what I paid for. I basically paid a lot of money for a load of stone on top of a thin layer of tar that didn't set up worth a darn. I would never recommend this company for anything. I learned a hard lesson, we got a post card in the mail that was impressive, unfortunately their work is not. They left no paper work or invoice with us, I guess that should have been the first clue. They claim on their web page they have been in business for over 65 years, but listed here on this BBB page as 8 years? They claim no job is complete until the customer is satisfied on their web page. Ha....I was told he would come and look at it when they are doing a job in our area, something tells me I will never see them again.

I would not recommend Chip and Seal, 1.) they are not accredited by the BBB 2.) they do shoddy work and 3.) They misrepresented themselves. In early fall of 2018 I paid $12,880 to have my gravel driveway paved with the chip seal process because I was having to spray weed killer to control the weeds in my drive and I was concerned about the effect of the chemicals on my health. I assumed that the tar and gravel would control the weeds but before starting the process I ask if there is any maintenance to which I was told no. It looked great when they finished but by spring of the following year the weeds and grass were already growing. 4 years later the gravel is still making a mess in my car and house because it gets stuck in our shoes and tracked in, the gravel never settled and sealed because not enough tar was used. As of right now my driveway has been taken over by weeds and grass and I have to continually spray with toxic chemicals, which is the reason I contacted this company to start with.
