1 starI had a sewer pipe replaced in Dec. of 2024 and while the workmanship was great the follow up regarding fixing the hole, making ruts in my lawn and not fixing them, plus damaging my water shut-off valve was non-existent. Their claims, besides not returning my calls, were baseless concerning they had nothing in their contract regarding fixing the ruts. It took them 10 months to fill back and groom the hole that they stated would be done especially after numerous calls from me regarding this situation. They were going to call me first when they were to come over and did not especially when I was out of town and again not calling me when they would come. I spent over $8500.00 for this and not having the decency to call me back was not what a company should be doing to its customers. I am forwarding them a bill from a company that I called to make the repairs since, once again, they failed to return my call. Stay away from this company since the word promised is not in their vocabulary.Roto-Rooter

1 starDo not fall for the RotoRooter jingle or the initial response that they will give to you. We had multiple problems with the same issue and finally called ********** to fix what RotoRooter had done to our septic tank and drain system. At one time, they left a giant hole in our backyard for a week because they dropped the lid to our tank into the tank. It rained several days while the lid was off, and they had to pump out the tank again before getting the lid. The Project Manager and the Regional Manager were the rudest and most unresponsive people that I have ever dealt with for a project. When I called to complain about them not calling me back, the person that I spoke with never got back in touch with me. My backyard stayed looking like a war zone for several months because they were constantly digging it up to fix things that they had no idea of how to fix problems. I am not sure how they submit jobs to their team, but the crew that covered ************, ** was incompetent. This company is possibly the worst company that I have ever dealt with.Roto-Rooter

1 starTerrible experience, came out charged me $400 and nothing was accomplished and were in my house for nearly 5 HOURS. Tried to put fear into me by stating the only alternative to my issue was a 16 THOUSAND dollar excavation to fix a tiny portion of my sewer line. Mind you at the end of the job the plumber tells me I should just sell my house. I spent $400 for them to shove a snake down my line and clear nothing out. Also left bathroom a mess with toilet and ***** residue all over. I had a local company come out and fix the issue the next day within 30 minutes. They also quoted me to excavate the line for less than 2k. Terrible, unprofessional and useless experience. I wouldn't call these guys if my life depended on it.Roto-Rooter

1 starI had roots in my main sewer line so I called roto rooter out. ******* said that I needed the work done immediately because they struggled to clear the line and it could happen again advising not to flush tp down the toilet. He asked me what my insurance coverage was and I told him 10 grand. So he wrote up a bill for 10 grand. I told him I didnt have that kind of money and he said I could finance through them and put it through my insurance. So thats what I did on the spot. I called my insurance and the insurance adjuster wanted them to send an itemized statement with the work they did and the cost of each job that was performed. **** said that they dont send prices with their itemizations because of competition reasons. So my insurance company did their own estimate of what was sent and came up with 3 grand. I went back and forth with roto rooter and they flat out refuse to send the information my insurance company needs. ******* told me they work with insurance companys which was a flat out lie because if they did they would send the needed information. Im sure had I not financed and they had to submit an itemization they would have no problem getting that right in to get their money. What a disappointment and I will never use roto rooter again.Roto-Rooter

1 starLooking for a plumber in Central NJ? DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER! ***** - DO NOT GET SCAMMED, DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER. They overcharged me for a repair quote and disappeared! Terrible experience with this company, clearly they do not care AT ALL! Here all the facts: I called to have someone coming to my house for a drain pipe leaking. They sent a technician on 25 Aug 2025 who did not do anything more than asking my wife to flush the toilet to confirm where the leaking was coming from, and providing an OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive ($2500+tax) quote for the repair - 8 minutes from stepping in the house to stepping outside, measured looking at the Ring camera. He charged an astonishing $264+tax for a "Search and diagnostic fee"!!!! I was not home at that time and my wife paid the technician. As soon as I came back home, I called the customer service to complain, and was transferred from one dept to another, and finally I was told there was a mistake in the invoice and I was charged for 2 gallons of some product (which I did not ask for nor received). I was told that a ticket was opened, and that I should expect a call from the manager to fix the situation within the same day. This was communicated on 25 Aug 2025. I never received any calls or messages from the manager, and I called them back 4 times to ask and complain: 28 Aug 2025, 2 Sep 2025, 5 Sep 2025, 8 Sep 2025. Last 3 calls were to the direct manager line, and the guy never picked up once. Every single time I left a voicemail with the ticket # and my phone # to be called back. It goes without saying that I won't let this SCAM company near my house ever again. I ended up going with a local company that charged 0 for the quote and completed the work with professionalism and experience for 60% of the cost ($1500). ONCE AGAIN: DO NOT GET SCAMMED, DO NOT USE ROTO-ROOTER.Roto-Rooter

1 starOpportunistic, unprofessional and manipulative. They misinformed me on their procedure, and were dishonest about several issues. They left some equipment in my place to remove dirty water. Plugged in some machines and left. Then wanted16,000 dollars in payment!Review fromCarlos D

1 starAvoid using this company for any plumbing needs you may have. They deceived me into purchasing a costly faucet to replace my old one then I overpaid for the service. He said there wasn't another faucet that matched my sink when he was told to select the less expensive one, they bought a faucet that was over my budget and had me pay for it. Furthermore, I tried to settle this issue with management, but nobody returned my call or tried to make things right.Roto-Rooter

1 starThis place is a scam. They take advantage of the elderly and disabled people. Over charge for services. Would not give any stars if possible. Another company came out and stated they would have only charged before $500-$700 for the job roto rooter did just disgusting they charged my disabled brother $13.000Review fromRichard F

1 starI was quoted $1,500 - $2,500 for a small job to cleanup some very minor water damage. After spending 30 minutes at most in my house during the job setting up dehumidifiers and spraying antimicrobial spray, the final bill was $3,000. No explanation was given as to how the job could have possibly gone over budget, it would have been difficult to spend less time on the property than they did. You can find a better alternative for any work you need to have done.Review fromBarbara A

1 starThis review is for roto rooter in Hampton Va. I wanted a washing machine box over my washing machine so everything would look uniformed, clean and neat. So, I contacted roto rooter. He did alot of unnessary damage to my home. First of all, he cut the sheetrock to place the washing machine box on the left side of the wall when my washing machine is on the right side of that wall then he cut the sheetrock behind the washing machine and exposed the studs in the wall and started cutting it almost in half. If that wasnt enought damage for him , He cut the pipes that came out of the wall that connected to the back of the washing machine two different lengths, He goes under the house and started cutting the subfloor.
I came out of the room when I felt the house move an saw what he had done and told him to leave. He took the signed estimate with him when he left and the DPOR could not find anything to fine him with other than not giving me a copy of my contract. This was a licensed plumber doing this work. I see all of these reviews for this company so when do they start to take responsibility for the type of work they perform. WATCH OUT
