On 3/06/23 I met with Alexandra P and the OWNER of a home that I was trying to rent. Among meeting with Alexandra, the owner and I had agreed that the property was mine to occupy we just had to meet with the realtor to sign documents and get income proof, which we did. Over the course of 2 weeks both the landlord and Alexandra assured me that me and my family would be approved since we got a co signer. We make over $93,000/year and well over the $5400/month that they required for us to rent this property at $1800/month. Alexandra blatantly lied to me on sever occasions, and went against what the owner specifically stated he wanted, which was to rent with us. She accused me of not completing a background check which I did and have proof and today sent me an email telling me that she contracted the property on 3/23 when this property was supposed to be mine, PER our agreement. She has discriminated against me because she doesn’t like me and that is very apparent. It’s very unethical and I believe she needs to be held accountable for her actions.

    Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my apologies for receiving a complaint from the consumer, and to assure you that I did not do anything wrong during the transaction. As a Real Estate agent, I represented my client, the Landlord/Owner, and treated Ms. ***** N with respect while being ethical and honest throughout the process.
While I understand Ms. ***** N frustration, her accusations are incorrect and unfair. Her mother even harassed me over the phone, and I had to inform her that I would involve the police and file a restriction order against her and her daughter if she continued to do so.

I would like to clarify the situation. I was hired by the property owner, Alexey C, to find a qualified and trustworthy tenant for the property located at **** ******* **, Loveland Oh *****, which was purchased for rental purposes in distressed condition. During the renovation, the neighbor contacted the owner and asked if her daughter could rent the property. The owner hired me to assist with the application process and communication between the parties, but I was not a decision-maker in the entire process.

My role was to meet with the possible tenant, show the property, explain the conditions and requirements, collect all necessary information, and deliver it to the owner for decision-making purposes. One of the most important requirements was the income and background check. The owner didn't want to work directly with any prospective tenants, which is why I was involved in the process.

When the owner, I, and the tenant met at the property, I showed Ms. ***** the property and explained the application process, including the importance of having a clean background and an income. I also advised her that the application process was free, but the background and credit history check was essential, and they would have to pay $42 to the third party for the final approval. If there was anything on the background or credit history worth discussing before they paid $42 per person, I advised her to inform the owner at that moment.

Ms. ***** stated that her credit score was low and she did not have any proof of income at the time. I advised her to find a co-signer. The owner decided to screen all applicants since they would all be financially responsible. Only two of the three applicants completed the background check, and Ms. ***** did not complete it. The primary payee was denied by the system as a high-risk tenant due to criminal charges and other criteria, as seen in the attached screenshot of the background/credit history.

The decision not to rent the property to Ms. ***** and her co-applicants was not a personal one but based on objective criteria such as credit history, income, and criminal background. The owner, my client, made the decision, and not me, the Real Estate agent. I sent an email to Ms. ***** stating that their application was denied, and my client asked me to find another tenant.

Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope this clears up any misunderstandings. Thank you for your time and understanding.

Please, let me know what my next step should be regarding the matter.

    Best regards,

    Alexandra P
