Took vehicle in for 2 issues - failing alternator and hvac blend door actuator not functioning. We confirmed they honored our warranty before making the service appointment , when we dropped it off, and when we received the estimate. They did not fix the actuator, but instead tried to charge us for a thermostat (which had been replaced in the past 2 months, but they didn't check it at all) flushed the cooling system and claimed it is "much better now" even though it is not any different. They did not submit any of the repairs to the warranty company, claiming they were not told about the warranty until after the work was completed - and since the warranty company won't cover repairs after the work is completed, we had to pay fort all of this out of pocket. On the way home in the car, the heating issue is no different. Also found out when returning home that the radiator now sprays antifreeze all over the engine and pavement once it warms up; it began leaving coolant on the pavement 3 blocks from their facility. After them trying to charge us for a thermostat for no good reason, I do not trust that any compnents other than the alternator were actually in need of repair. Additionally, we now have to take the car to another service center to have the radiator inspected / repaired.

Yes, I purchased a car for lease January of 2024 a 2014 *** optima. It recently started having a problem that makes the car not drivable. Advantage car and credit let me know that I can take it to the AAA on *** **** **** in ***** ******* **** *****. I took my car there, they told me two days after that the problem was the power steering motor. Which by the way didn’t make sense to me because the power steering was out AND traction control was stuck on but I went with it because they are the ‘professionals’. Anyways, I paid $500 deductible and advantage car and credit paid $1700 for the repair. I took my car to them Thursday and they called me three business days later telling me the car was fixed and I can come pick up. Well, two days later the same issues accrued. So they told me bring it back, and I did that Saturday, one day after the issues started again, and they called me the same day two hours after I dropped it off and told me the car was fixed and just needed recalibrated. Well, after I pick the car up a few hours later same problems happened again. They told me bring it again, I took it a third time and they told me take it to *** because they can’t fix it. Even though we already paid them over $2000 for the repair. I paid my part and my car still is not fixed. They need to give me a new car or give me a refund for what was paid so I can get a rental and take my car elsewhere. I should not have to be dealing with this a month straight because my car was taken to them 3 times and it still is not fixed. They told me bring it in again but now I have no way to work when I already dropped it off to them three times and it still is not fixed. This needs taken care of asap. Because they took my money for the repair and three visits later the car still is NOT fixed. They told me take it to *** where I have to pay everything out of pocket even thought they were already paid for the repair. This is the AAA on *** **** **** ***** ******* **** *****.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against AAA Tire & Auto Service regarding the improper alignment service performed on my ******** * at their **********, ** location on January 21, 2025. Despite assurances that the alignment would be properly completed, my vehicle is now pulling severely to the right side, indicating that the service was not performed correctly. On January 21, I had all four tires replaced at the AAA ********** location, and I was advised that an alignment was necessary. I approved the service based on their recommendation. However, after the service, I noticed the pulling to the right, which prompted me to contact the ********** location on January 23. I spoke with a representative named Megan, who informed me that they were booked until the following Thursday and suggested that I visit another AAA location. I subsequently visited the AAA ********* location, where I was informed in writing (attached receipt) that AAA Tire & Auto Service is not authorized or equipped to perform alignments on electric vehicles. According to ********, the alignment specifications for my vehicle have not been released to the public, which means that the technician (ID #***********, Timothy) at the ********** location should not have attempted the alignment on my vehicle. As a result of this improper service, my vehicle is experiencing severe pulling to the right, which could lead to further damage or safety concerns. I am requesting the following: A full refund for the alignment service performed on January 21, 2025. Compensation for any potential damage caused by the improper alignment. I am seeking a prompt and fair resolution to this matter. I trust that AAA Tire & Auto Service will take responsibility for their actions and resolve this issue in a professional and timely manner. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your assistance in resolving this complaint.

      Dear BBB,

Thank you for reaching out to AAA. Below is our response from the Car Care Manager.

We have spoken with this member several times and have refunded the amount she paid to us. We have apologized multiple times for her experience and offered to have her vehicle serviced at another one of our locations at no charge. However, she expressed that she would not allow anyone from our stores to work on her vehicle. I had to terminate the conversation when she became verbally abusive towards my staff and me.

      Thank you,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The corporate department at AAA conducted an investigation into the incident and ultimately covered the cost of repairs for the damage caused by their shop. At no point during my interactions was I verbally abusive toward their staff, as confirmed by their review of the recorded phone call. However, during the conversation, William from AAA was uncooperative, repeatedly interrupted me, and exhibited demeaning behavior toward women. Based on this experience, I would not choose to work with this company again and would caution women and electric vehicle owners before doing business with them.

I had a vehicle towed to this service center 9 weeks ago for repair. As of today 1/5/2025, the vehicle remains in the same spot in the parking that it was placed in originally by the tow truck driver. Despite being told and guaranteed that it has been "looked at". On 12/20/24, I was assured that a technician from a location in *********** was willing to work on the vehicle as he had "wide open schedule" to avoid it waiting for their technician to get back from vacation. The vehicle was to be towed Per Andrew, that day to the *********** location and he would follow up the following week. I have attached photographs of the vehicle as it sits today in the parking lot of 200 West Third Street. We have asked for transparency if the job was too much for them to let us know but we have continued to be assured that they are "Just busy".

I paid for struts assembly at Tire and Auto. The following year, I began having problems with the struts again. I called Tire and Auto and asked if the struts were on warranty and was told they are only good for one year. I went to a different mechanic who replaced the struts. That mechanic told me he called **** ****, who makes that strut assembly and was told they have a lifetime warranty. I took the struts to **** **** and they were willing to make a refund, but it had to be refunded to the account that purchased the parts, which was Tire and Auto. I contacted Tire and Auto and they said they were unable to take the **** **** refund out to refund me. I was told that only corporate could refund me.

      Dear BBB,

Thank you for contacting AAA. The Store manager spoke with the customer and explained because the customer had the parts replaced elsewhere and did not return the parts to us, we were unable to conclude the struts were defective, thus voiding the warranty. In response to this inquiry, the store manager spoke with the customer and in good faith, offered to refund the parts cost only. The customer was pleased with this offer and the store manager is processing the release paperwork and initiating a check request for the sum of the parts.

      Sincerely,

Went to Michel Tires on ******** *** on 9/30 for oil change, car care package special. On 10/8, car began running hot, engine began shutting down. Able to pull off next exit; white smoke coming from under hood. After cooling off, son popped hood, saw coolant reservoir empty. Bought antifreeze and filled, returned home. On 10/9, took car to Michel Tires in ****** **** to get diagnosis, see if possibly it was something original store had done (wondered why they didn't mention as potential problem when given report w/recommendations). This store diagnosed 3 hoses leaking coolant, gave me estimate w/written report. (Could not be determined there was damage done w/original service on ********.) Because I am AAA member (eligible for discounts), took the car on 10/11 to AAA Tire & Auto on ****** ** near ***** **** Rd. When telling the manager the services and diagnosis both Michel Tires stores had done, he laughed, asked me to please don't go back to any Michel Tires. I trusted him, left my car to be fixed. I authorized coolant/hose work to be done (along w/new tires, tie rods). AAA T&A also changed my oil w/o authorization. I told manager I had just had that done on 9/30; he told me no, they (Michel Tires) hadn't changed it. However, he did not charge me for it. I picked up car on 10/14, paid $2755 for all other work. On 10/15, car began smoking again and there was now a leak stain in driveway. This time I called manager, told him I was bringing someone with me who knew more about cars than I and knew what questions to ask. After popping hood, manager and mechanic still seemed confused about what could be wrong other than cracked reservoir. My friend and I mentioned heater hose. After lifting car, they agreed; it would cost an addt'l $457. Picked up, paid on 10/17. Car smoked twice (though no longer), small leak stains still. Manager has not returned voice message left on 10/19. Called AAA 11/6 to file complaint, was told I had to go back to store; AAA won't handle.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I do wish, however, to dispute that there were faulty repairs done by another business. After the initial repair actually did not fix the leak, a friend who accompanied me on the third time to AAA asked them if they had checked the thermostat unit. They lifted the car on the rack and determined that yes, in fact, it was the unit that needed repair. They did give a free tow and offered to fix it at 50% cost, but my friend convinced them to fully repair at no charge.

Took my truck in because my truck would not want to go whenever I would have to stop at stop sign or stop light it acted like it didn't have any power. Also break light on. They called me told me i needed breaks and Catalytic converter. I said okay. Then they call me back and said it need calibers also I said okay. They called me when it was done I went to pick it up I drive away They called me within 2 minutes and told me to come back since They saw oil leaking so I took it back left it with them again picked it up the next day They said it was fixed. Then a couple days later I was on my way to a doctor's appointment I had to stop at a stoplight and when I went to press the gas it would not go the same thing that was happening to me before I took it there so I took it back to them and they called me the next day told me it was my transmission. And sorry but they don't even do transmission work and I would have to take it to someone else. I said well what about the $1875 that I paid you that is not right if I would have known it was the transmission I most likely would not have got the truck fixed since it's a year 2000. They said they fixed it based off what their computer told them was wrong with that and the symptoms that I told them I told them the symptoms that I told them was the same symptom that it was doing when it broke down after I got it back and all they said was sorry I called back asked to speak to a supervisor was told he was not available and would call me back. I never got a call back. I feel like I should have got at least some type of refund. I am very upset I am a single woman who knows nothing about cars I took it to this facility because I have AAA and they are a AAA service center therefore I thought I could trust them. Now I am out$1875 and still have no truck to drive. I took truck to transmission place told me it was misdiagnosed at Bob sumerel and transmission what cost me at least 1,600 did not recommend I put that in my old truck

I had my car towed to Bob Sumerel to get my a/c fixed and it didn't work, I took it back to see what was wrong and the blower wasn't working now and they charged me $460.61 the second time and they wanted more money to see what the problem was so after paying them a total of $911.72 I couldn't afford to keep giving money and nothing to show for it plus now I have an additional problem and that's the blower for my heat. I am 85 years old and I've been taken by these people.

from what I can see from 2 invoices, customer requests were addressed and any other diagnostic time needed to address blower issue was declined by customer, technician used 1st FREE hour of diagnostic with tow in to try to address, unfortunately vehicle is very old and electrical issues require time to track down, technicians do not work for free regardless of how much we ask them to.

Around 6/20/2024 I had a tire order from Tire Rack sent to the ********** ** Location of Bob Summeral. The location was to change out 6 of my tires on my **** *** **** **** *** ****** Truck. Upon pick up from the location I noticed damage to my factory rims. There was major damage to the front driver side, and the other rims had indents in the paint into the aluminum. I talked with Mike C*******, the Store manager and he said there was no way that they did the damage. Since I did not have photo proof when I dropped it off I was on my own. A few weeks later at my dealership the mechanic showed me everything that was wrong with the rims and how the damage occurred. I have a video of the walk through with the mechanic and I called Mike C******* again to let him know that my mechanic described what happened and it was indeed their fault. He asked me to send him pictures to his cell phone. I sent him the video showing all the damage and I have never heard back from him. Dealership has quoted over $4000.00 in damage. The damages include: Major Gash in front Driverside Rim- Caused by lift arm not in the clear and vehicles striking it. All Rims- 6 dots... 3 rows or 3... in several locations on the rims... these are the teeth that are used in the bead breaking on steel rims, not aluminum. I am able to send video from my mechanic.

I have talked to the claim’s specialist, I have talked to her boss while she was on extended leave and my mechanic has talked with the claims adjuster. Insurance company wants to refinish my rims, at a cost around $900.00. The dealership mechanic says that the type of rims that I have cannot be refinished due to their finish (it being powder coated) and they would need to be replaced. Replacement would cost close to $7,000.00. The insurance company is also missing on their payout that a center cap was damaged, and needs replaced as well.

Although there are numerous complaints similar to mine within the community, I will only speak of mine. I scheduled an oil change for my car. Upon scheduling, the representative confirmed the services that go along with the oil change such as tire rotation. Upon receiving my car after the oil change, I did not receive any diagnostics and paid a high price for an oil change. After driving it, I noticed the tire pressure was the same and on the same tires as before. I emailed AAA Bob Summeral who had me come back in. They claimed they checked everything, informed me of false information about the front brakes, claimed everything was completed and checked. Shortly after driving my car again, I noticed the windshield fluid was empty, and a little after that, the notification for maintenance came on (oil and filter). Usually there is a sticker on the windshield to tell me when it is due for an oil change, none was ever put on. How do I know if one was even completed? Based on reviews from other community members, lately Bob Summeral at this location have claimed to do work and never completed the work they were paid to do or falsely claim things need done when they don’t. This appears to have started the past year or so, so recently. We were very loyal customers until Jason left, then it all started to go down hill. We tried to stay loyal but after this type of treatment, we cant trust them for us to remain loyal.

No Response was given. The plug they used on my tire leaked too! It wasn’t plugged long time, maybe a few months. Had to get it fixed.

Yes we spoke to her back in march the price for the oil change for her vehicle is actually 84 dollars and it was discounted for her down to the 70  she did come back and had the vehicle checked out she did mention that she was going on a road trip out west so not sure how many miles she went so maybe she hit the miles interval to need another oil change when she stopped back everything seemed fine and she left happy that was almost 2 and half months ago now.
