1 starThey cancelled my dog's insurance policy without my knowledge and locked me out of my account so I am unable to retrieve any information. After calling customer service and speaking to multiple HORRIBLE women, they informed me they would not cover my dogs death because he was a brachycephalic breed however his death was due to aspiration pneumonia after anesthesia for dental surgery which had NOTHING to do with being a brachycephalic breed. My dogs regular veterinarian did a full exam just prior to surgery stating my dog respiratory function was completely NORMAL. I have been charged for 2 months insurance when they cancelled my dogs insurance. In addition, they will not cover the cremation of my dog which is supposed to be 100% covered. They basically stole my money and now I'm unable to pay my rent because I trusted them to do what I paid them to. PLEASE DO NOT EVER INSURE A PET WITH NATIONWIDE. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!Review fromAndrew H

1 starMy car was struck by another driver while leaving a parking lot who then fled the scene but with police assistance I was able to track the driver down and file a claim with Nationwide. What followed was some the worst experiences I've had with an insurance company. The claim agent would go for weeks without performing any action, he never picked up his phone or checked his email, and he would only contact me back after I had called his supervisor directly. After all these delaying tactics, by the time they actually got around to investigating the incident it was already months old and most of the crucial evidence was out of date or gone. As such, after yet another week of silence and delay they informed me the claim was denied.Review fromCory M

On May 2 My ********************************* several deer at night during a rainstorm. The vehicle sustained heavy damage! After reporting the claim to Nationwide Insuranc I gave a recorded statement on what happened. The claim was assigned to an adjuster named ******** who went on vacation a few days later and my truck sat at the Bodyshop till ******************** came back from vacation! After finding this out I voiced my displeasure and asked how come no one took over the claim why the adjuster **** ******** was on vacation! No one at Nationwide had a good answer! So, a lady by the name ***** called said she was working on an estimate the body shop I took the truck to have an estimate of repairs of about ****** dollars this lady ***** came up with repairs of ***** I knew right then this claim was going to be nothing but trouble!! Several days later the Adjuster ******************** came back from vacation and sent another field adjuster to look at my truck at the Bodyshop! To no surprise of mine here came the nickel and diming from Nationwide Insurance About how some of the damage was not consistent with a deer strike! When I asked if there was a book or manual on what was consistent in a collision with a deer the Nationwide Adjuster said there is none! So, when asked how they can pick and choose what Nationwide was going to fix they said Well send pictures of the truck before the accident and we will reevaluate the claim, so I did and now comes a call from a Nationwide Investigator who thought he was the original Inspector Gadget asked me all sorts of questions and treated me like a criminal! Keep in mind Nationwide is holding up a ****** claim over a 400 or 500 tailgate on the truck they don't want to pay for and rather coming out and being a big boy and saying "We don't think we should pay for the Tailgate" Nationwide wants to drag the claim out have all these Investigator and outside adjusters hassle you! Nationwide is definitely not on your side! There claims suck!!!Nationwide

I agree. Nationwide dropped our homeowners policy because of wildfires concerns and gave us almost no notice. The document stating they were dropping us was generated on 5/10 but only got here on 5/25. They are dropping coverage on 6/13.We have paid premiums on time for 20 + years for both auto and home. Never a claim of any kind. I would never recommend them.Nationwide

I was rear ended by a driver insured by Nationwide in December of 2021 and had the absolute worst experience possible dealing with the claims adjuster and every individual that we dealt with at Nationwide. The Claims adjuster actually told me that she no longer has to speak with me or answer my calls after I answered her question of not requesting any pain and suffering payments. after several calls and finally getting another person and 2-3 weeks the car was finally scheduled to go into the body shop for repairs. at this point Nationwide denied paying for a rental car for me and thankfully the body shop was the only decent thing that happened during this experience with getting it completed in about a month. Once all repairs were done, totaling over $6,000, we filed for a diminshed value because according to a trade in offer it was now worth about $4,000-$7,000 less than before the accident. At no surprise Nationwide is is denying any diminished value reimbursement. We have supplied appropriate documentation and they are still denying any reimbursement. I hope I never have to deal with this company again and if I have any recommendation for anyone that is in the process of a claim with them to get an attorney before even speaking to anyone from Nationwide.Nationwide

I posted my first and only claim for a pet insurance coverage of 7 months. They automatically denied the claim due to image issues, which was not an issue. I was told to fax in additional documents in hopes I would not continue the claim. This is unacceptable behavior for any stage of coverage but to do it on my first claim was clearly intentional.Nationwide
