      Root advertises that your driving record is the largest determining factor when it comes to your monthly rate. I have had them for 8 months and although the driving test on their app shows that I’ve had a good driving record, my rate has yet to change. When I inquired about it, one of their representatives made up a ton of excuses. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

      They are thieves. After cancelling months ago, continued to charge my debit card. Said can find no emails or phone calls. Lol. Said have to cancel on app. only. Don't do apps. 2 hours for their bs. They know the car was totaled in April and still continued to charge and will not give all my money back. Bank going to investigate. Overcharge and called for a tow. Have to file claim before car can be towed???? lol Waited 2 hours, so police had car towed to impound lot. Paying $400. per month for nothing but aggravation!

      This is the first time I’ve ever submitted a claim, and Root Insurance is not a company that you can count on. The accident I was involved in, occurred on May 8th, which I was not at fault for, as the person ran a RED LIGHT, I also had a witness who relayed the information of the person running the red light, to the Police. YET, with that being said, 40% of the blame was placed on me for I quote “not using evasive maneuvers “, to avoid the vehicle. Which makes zero sense, since the traffic light determines flow of traffic and I had the green light on my end , which was green for at least 2 seconds. In result, I am left to pay the remaining balance of 4,000$ of a vehicle I no longer have possession of, after being low-balled with an offer of a little over 15,000$ when the balance was 19,000$+. This is not right, and insurance companies should not be able to get away with taking advantage of people, just because they think they can.

      Beware of Root Insurance Companies - They Sell Your Data and Bombard You with Calls I recently tried to get a quote from Root Insurance and within minutes of entering my personal information, I started receiving non-stop calls from various third-party companies. It's clear that Root is selling customer data to outside parties, leading to an onslaught of unsolicited calls and spam. The quick turnaround between providing my information and the flood of calls suggests Root has no qualms about compromising customer privacy. I never consented to having my data shared, yet that seems to be their business model. This is a huge violation of trust and shows Root cares more about profits than protecting their clients' personal information. Beyond the data selling, the customer experience with Root is also very poor. The barrage of calls is extremely frustrating and intrusive. It's impossible to get any peace after engaging with them. I would strongly advise against using Root Insurance. They cannot be trusted to keep your information safe or respect your privacy. There are plenty of other insurance providers out there that don't engage in these shady data-selling practices. Steer clear of Root at all costs.

      Terrible car insurance company, and major scam. Do not purchase do not purchase do not purchase. They will offer you a rate that seemingly is very competitive to the rate you were currently being offered only to then after a few weeks send you a cancellation notice stating that you can find better rates at another company in your area and that’s why they are canceling your insurance for no reason. Waste of time and money!

      tay away from root. When you really need them because your vehicle was totaled they will ghost you. Accident was 7 weeks ago. They said they pay claims in an average of 7-10 days. They sent me a low ball offer that was about $6,000 less than the market value of similar vehicles on day 29, 1 day less than many state laws require for claims to be resolved. Told me to send them my comps and they would get back to me in a few days. Since then the adjuster has ignored emails, voicemails, requests for call back through the customer service and claims phone lines. I requested a supervisor twice now and they always say they'll get back to you no later than 2 business days, but even they don't call back. NAIC guidelines state you must respond to an insureds inquiry regarding a claim within 14 days. Cant get a response to my request for the valuation report, the comps I provided, the settlement offer I sent, the independent appraisal I sent, confirmation of where my vehicle is actually located and which auction I am supposed to send the POA to, or follow up requests. It's been over 3 weeks since the last response. Root was the worst mistake I ever made. I went back to *****, because they do actually handle people's claims in 7-10 days. I filed a DOI complaint now, so hopefully they will answer them. Oh yeah and my preliminary appraisal came back at exactly what I offered to settle for, so clearly they are trying to lowball.

      The worse they increased my premium an extra $106 a month after they quoted me a different price after my test drive was over. During my test drive they couldn’t tell if I was a driver or passenger I even called to tell them I was a passenger at different times. I filed a claim and they were unavailable for the entire weekend I had to call and wait 2 days for someone to call me back **** ********* is my claims expert and she’s horrible at responding and reaching out to customers and collision shops I couldn’t even get a rental and missed almost a weeks worth of work!!! They only deal with ********** ****** and they also suck. RUN far away from them they are a scam and I will be taking my business elsewhere!!!

      Bunch of thieves. I literally told them that I wanted to cancel my insurance They gave me a couple date options one of which apparently meant that I was going to pay for an entire month of service but only get one day because it's been canceled. So basically the day of cancellation they take an entire months of payment and then cancel my insurance so I paid for a full month to get zero zip zilch nothing. They basically just stole my money and when I tried to get it back from when they told me that that was just their policy. Apparently taking your money for no goods or services is company policy

      Was hit on 03-09-2024 by a root driver. We cannot get a hold of a claims adjuster and have requested a new one but still no word. We have requested a rental but again have not heard back. Will be filing a complaint with the DOI. They decided to total our vehicle without even asking for photos or conducting an inspection.

      Worse insurance ever. They make you pay so much up from telling you that your rate is based off your driving. Then the first time you get renewed it jumps over $60 a month. While I made no changes, tickets or accidents. Then when you finally get ahold of someone at the company you are told well there is nothing we can do and understand you leaving. They will give a standard this is why form not explaining anything. They lied about there business model to trick people into getting policy. And won’t return calls or give a genuine answer to any of your questions.
