3/25/2024, called to get moving estimate from this company. We had not sold our house yet. Given a moving estimate ******** and they ask for a deposit which was done on credit card. Since that time we have called other moving companies and they did not ask for any payments at all? We have decided to go a different route since we are Senior Citizens on social security and must. We called to cancel and ask for the refund either by check or credit card credit and they refuse. State we had 72 hours to cancel or no refund. So they are taking money without service? Not acceptable or professional, people need to be aware of their policies, business tactics, and very rude so no customer service at all. Now they are saying that we will just have to use their moving service to get our money back?

Details described in the attached Letter of Complaint. In Brief, the moving company overbilled me for the extra load that was not based on the actual volume. I was threatened that if I did not pay the entire invoice in cash wire transfer or Zelle, they would not deliver my load. This is after my stuff is loaded so they kept my stuff on hostage and left me with no choice but pay for what they asked for in cash. Seeking a refund for the overbilled portion of the invoice I had to pay in order to receive the goods. Company is very deceptive in terms of the things they promised at the time of selling and booking the service. They also failed over and over to show up on the date or the time of the appointment without any update or communications.

When we got to the customer we realize she have a lot more items to ship to il we load everything and give her good service the price change because she had a lot more items and parking

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/11/2023

I am rejecting this response because: Once again their only response to my claim is that I had more stuff than I claimed - YES I DID have more stuff than ESTIMATED (401 cubic feet).  My Actual load was about 756 cubic feet.  They claimed I had 1,200 cubic feet.  (N*** even said I had 1,400 cubic feet but he would give a discount and 1,200 cubic feet after I told him their 26 Ft Truck can't possibly carry 1,400 cubit feet).

Based on the ACTUAL LOAD, my final invoice should have been $3,972.23 (756 cubic feet) however they invoiced me for $6,270.00 (they claimed I had 1,200 Cubic Feet) and made me pay in CASH by taking my stuff ON HOSTAGE AFTER they started driving.

To be clear again, I am only asking for a REFUND for what they OVERBILLED (Actual Load - 756 Cubic Feet, They Billed me for 1,200 Cubic Feet).  I am NOT demanding to honor the estimated amount.

They have inflated the invoice by adding 444 extra to the actual load.  When I asked them to send me the Tariff Sheet they simply ignored and the only thing they tell me is "you had a lot more stuff than you claimed".  N*** said they measured my load but he has not sent me or showed me any evidence of that. I have all the pictures taken to proof that my load was not even close to what he said (1,200 cf).  From the pictures I have taken you can see my load is 800 cf at most.

The Customer assuming he have less cubic feet, we measure the truck and we give you the correct cf , Customer  know he have a lot more items to ship

Customer mentioned he have more stuff and he aware of that ,we never hold customers item hostage. We deliver on the timeframe and the move is done Unfortunately, we cannot give no refund here. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/19/2023

I am rejecting this response because: Again this business is telling me they had more stuff than I claimed and that's all they can tell me and they cannot substantiate their invoice amount with any documentations or pictures.  I have all the pictures to prove and it is very easy to prove from the net interior of the storage unit they loaded the entire truckload to as well as measuring from the interior of their own truck (refer to the picture of their truck taken right after loading.  My ACTUAL load they moved was aprox 760 cf and they invoiced me for 1200 cf.  That is overbilling.  They are claiming they never took my goods on hostage but N*** clearly texted, emailed and on the phone stated that they WILL NOT DELIVER my goods UNLESS I PAID THE INVOICE (in cash, wire, zelle) which left me with no choice but to pay the amount that I didn't agree.  That is a definition of taking goods on hostage, isn't it?? and because they know most people has no choice but to pay as they are told.  This business is not operating in good faith to say the least.  I tried to negotiate the middle ground but N*** never responded me to my calls, texts or emails.  That itself shows what kind of business they are.  They took my good saving that I earned for their profit.  At this point I know they have no intention to refund me.  I sincerely hope they reconsider and avoid subjecting other customers to the same experience.

I set up a move for October of 2022. I had a price locked in, verified that they knew what they were picking up multiple times and they assured me they did and i wouldn't pay more than $1450. I had to pay $900 for them to attempt the pick up but were not equipped saying they didnt know what they were picking up. After that it was alot of poor communication setting up pick-ups. Then the contracted me about a month later to see if my things had been picked up, so they were not even aware that this move had not been completed. Then communication basically cut off. I reached out at least every month and they did not reply. I finally got them on the phone around August of 2023 and they told me they needed to increase the price by 2 times making it $2800 total and were demanding me pay another $900 to show them i am "good for it" i said "you have had my money and given me almost zero communication for 10 months and you want me to prove to you that im good for it? Im sorry but we signed a contract on a price and i need you to fufill that contract". We had signed a contract agreeing to $1450 so i said no, either fulfill the move or refund my money and i will go elsewhere, he said he will get back to me and i haven't heard bck from him since then and i have reached out numerous times asking for my money back.

Regarding this customer, NATIONWIDE MOVING send truck 2 times to the pick up location, spending money and labor in order to pick up the job customer had more items and bulky items. We give them the final price before we start the move and he canceled company policy that if you cancel the move, you lose your deposit

    Customer Answer

This is the only contract i received. After paying $900 for the initial pick up they said they would send me an updated invoice and never did. I have the text messages from Nick stating that. They showed up 1 time unprepared (they knew exactly what they were micking up) and i tried working with them and gave them a year to finish this move and they just ignored me. Now i would like my money back.

On 7-24-23 I spoke to Jasmin over the phone and by email. I was quoted $2650 for a FULL SERVICE move from FL to TX. None of my items were bubble wrapped or had blankets placed over the tvs like I was told they would be. Nothing was put back together once it arrived. On 7-25-23 two guys showed up with a 17foot trailer for a 3bedroom move . All items were told to jasmin about the move prior to them showing up. The movers take all of my things and requested 1850. After the movers take my items they then explain that they aren’t not the ones who will be transporting my items to tx. I am then inform it will be 5 days before my things arrive to TX. On the 5th day I called nationwide to see when would they arrive. That’s where the scam came to light. I was then inform that my my things weigh more than expected and that the total move will be $6000. By this time I am in TX and my items were in a storage unit in Orlando. I NEVER AGREED TO MY ITEMS being left in a storage. They held my items hostage until I paid. I ended up sending more money through Zelle to get my things. Finally on 8-7-23 my things are delivered by a driver name ******** ******. The driver demands money before he opens the truck. He found 2 Random men from Craigslist to remove my things from the truck. The dot # on the truck did not match the DOT # that’s on my binding agreement. Nationwide dot number is 1747419. Vladimir’s truck dot number is 3515632. Vladimir claims he is just the driver when I began to question him on why my total is not what I was quoted. He claims he doesn’t know nick or Jasmin or the weight of the truck. How do you not know the weight when I was charged Triple for the weight?? My items were all broken.(Glass, tv, furniture etc). There are huge roaches and spiders in all of my boxes & I’m allergic . I called nationwide to report a claim for broken items and they will not send me the information to file a claim for damages This company is a scam and needs to be SHUT down ASAP!

The company picked up the items in Charleston SC, going to PA, MD, and IL in September 2022. PA and MD got their items in December.

We have tried to be in contact but nothing about the items to go to IL. We got ahold of the company, Nick, and first was told in January the Truck rolled over and was waiting for insurance.

Now we are told our items are in California and they only have 3 items. But there were a lot more items. So, we are being lied to. We are not sure what to believe. We would really like all of our items delivered. We are very skeptical that will happen, so we would like a refund for the cost of delivery, and reimbursement for the missing items so we can replace them.

Nationwide Moving was hired by my sister and me to move furniture and other items from our deceased fathers home in South Carolina to my sister in Pikesville, MD, and to me in Doylestown, PA. Their invoice has been paid except for a balance of $528 due upon completion. Over the past couple of weeks, I have tried to contact their dispatcher, Nick, almost daily during weekday hours and was only able to reach him once. I left messages each time I called asking him to call me back. I would like to complete this contract with this company. Any help you can office would be greatly appreciated.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: the delivery has not been complete for two reasons:

    1. There is supposed to be a delivery to my sons in Chicago which has not been completed. This is a two part delivery (two separate addresses .) They are still waiting for their deliveries.

    2. Some items were delivered to the wrong recipient.  I have been unable to reach Nationwide Moving to make arrange for,the things to be delivered to where they are supposed to be.

Please not that all invoices have been paid in full with no outstanding balances due.

July 12th was the promised pick up date that the dispatch after I provided the deposit of 468.00. I did so through a money transfer using my current bank and their bank. The pick up date got closer and the lies began. First the receptionist ******* couldn't be contacted because she was on vacation, then the dispatcher was always to busy to talk. Before the deposit was made I had access to everyone and everything. After the original date was missed by days that I missed work I was promised a Saturday pickup that never occurred! The importance of this pick up without fail was explained to the dispatcher and so called general manager because my lease was expiring and I needed my furniture to be out by Saturday. After the no show I grabbed a u-haul and placed my items in the storage facility where my furniture is to this day. I was called the following Monday by a driver on his way to my house and my response was to him that he needed to call his dispatcher because I moved myself. After speaking to the manager, dispatcher, and whoever else they could get on the phone I was promised my refund of my deposit of 468.00. Needless to say that I am still waiting! I've called numerous times to be placed on hold or given a fake voicemail. The receptionist has changed her name as well. I am seeking my deposit back, but if court has to become the outcome I am seeking payment for the storage unit, u-haul, and any other funds that I am entitled to. I strongly suggest to anyone looking for a moving company to use a company that you can see, not one that sounds cheaper and sale b/s. I have all transactions and did not use cash.

You have the receipt for the wire transfer. The first page was my copy, the second page is the credit union's copy of the wire transfer as it states at the top and bottom of the page. The third page is my proof of deposit from my credit card to my account for the transfer. Please contact me by phone if necessary.

The moving company called me everyday to ask if I was interested in using their services in April after I told them to give me time while I compared moving prices. So I chose them with the best price offered after they called me extensively. Made a deposit of 450 for them to come May 30th. They showed up a day early at 7pm. Estimate was way off driving up the price of the move. So I left stuff behind to not drive up the price. Made another payment of 720 for additional costs of stairs and second payment. Delivery was suppose to be within a 1 1/2 weeks for 500 mile move but they had up to 30 days to deliver. It’s now been 2 months with no deliveries and the company has been difficult to get ahold of. I tried calling the agent but she wasn’t answering emails nor calls. She answered once and said she was on vacation. But she answered 2hrs later on a different a phone # I called from and tried making a sale. After I told her it was me she transferred me to someone else who never answered the call nor voicemail. Never got ahold her again. The main phone # of the company won’t answer messages. When they do answer I’ve asked them to get me an estimate to when they can deliver but get the same two answers each week. Like, “oh we will it get on a truck Tuesday.” Then it rolls into the next week and I call and my stuff is still is in there storage facility and their answer to that is they can’t find a truck to deliver my way. This company has no quality service what so ever and I’m now sitting in my house without any living basics. A few times they have blocked my number because I can call from a different phone and they answer. I need help getting in contact with this company because I truly feel like they are a scam operation at work. I have more forms they gave me at pick up and emails between me and the sale agent than I can upload. I can send them to you guys if you need them.
