They came out to give me a quote for a new garbage disposal and hook up of a shampoo bowl. I paid almost $200 for the quote. I called back talk to the receptionist who was very rude. She said she would talk to the guy three weeks went by. Nobody has contacted me about a quote at all. I recommend do not go to this business. The receptionist is very rude and you will pay for a quote and get nothing done.

*******, Your service call was on 11/1/2024. Which you were billed for $103.00, not $200.00 (you should recheck your CC statement). You requested a service call and we have wages, fuel, insurance wrapped up in each call. Then your quote was sent out on 11/11/2024. During the whole process we communicated that what you're proposing to do at your home and make it a beauty shop was not plumbing code and furthermore not submitted or approved with the ********** County Building Authority. If you'd like we can let them know what your plans are and I'm sure they would stop by the address to help with your planning.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I never received any quotes for either job.

I contacted Peterman to replace one hot water tank and to install one isolation valve inside my house to a leaking outside faucet. Plumber arrived 10/25/23 for work. He removed and installed hot water tank first (I had previously closed water and gas isolation valves to tank) without issue. He was working alone while I was upstairs and he yelled to turn on all house faucets. Plumber cut into water supply pipe in my son's basement bed room rafters before closing water main isolation valve to house, resulting in water spraying all over my son's bed, electrical equipment and bedside stand before plumber was able to install a pipe cap to stop leak. Plumber broke my main isolation valve when this happened, causing need to stop work and for me to contact city to shut off main curb isolation valve. Plumber stated before he left on 10/25/23, after speaking with his office, that he would return after main isolation valve inside house was replaced or line from street replaced and install isolation valve to leaking outside faucet for free and to call back for this service. I paid Peterman via check $1300.00 for hot oil tank & labor for 10.25.23. On 11/7/23, I had another plumber from another company replace my main isolation valve inside the house for $150.00 via cash. I did not pay the new plumber to install an isolation valve to the leaking faucet because Peterman Plumbing stated they would come back and do the job for free. I called Peterman for isolation valve install for 11/9/23. Same plumber from 10/25/23 arrived to do the work and install isolation valve to leaking faucet while I was outside doing yard work. When he was done with work, after talking with his office via phone while in his van for 15 minutes, hands me a bill for over $300.00 for work done on 11/9/23. I refused to accept bill as I told him I would have had the other plumber install the isolation valve for a lot less cost but the reason I called Peterman because they told my 10/25/23 they would do it for free.

I requested an estimate/quote for a new project at my home. Someone came out on 8/29/2023 to "gather info for quote" and said that the estimate would be emailed to me. I was not told there would be an charge for this - I was charged $98. No other contractor charged me for an estimate. Though I was not happy, I did pay the $98, However, I never received any quote. I called several times. I left messages with the service manager who did not pick up the phone. It has now been over a month and no estimate/quoted has ever been received. At this point, I do not want an estimate. I want my money back.

Yes, customer is correct that he never got a quote and that is my fault. Once I got the letter from BBB I dug around and did find the quote information stuck in another customers file. So he will be credited on his card and fully refunded.  All of our work orders that are typed have the work to be done or looked at printed on the call and also arrival time frames and if customer is COD or will be invoiced out.  He was a new customer and all new accounts require payment on first call, so if he was not told on the phone that he was COD we apologize for that.

    Thank you,
