      Don’t trust this bank with your money. I recently was misled during a phone call with a loan officer about the total amount owed to close a home equity loan. I authorized the loan officer to transfer over $6900 from my checking account to the loan account for the pay off. There was still a balance of $991.97 in the loan account. The loan officer said the balance would not accrue interest, but had to remain in the account to keep the loan active until the 2027 expiration date. At that time, I would need to pay the $991.97. Several weeks later, the bank transferred $200 out of my checking account into the loan account for an interest charge and to pay down the principal. This increased the loan balance to $1005.83. The bank flatly denied that any of their loan officers gave me misinformation about the closure of this loan. I paid the $1005.83 and transferred my accounts to a different bank.
