      For multiple years Eyemed has been the most difficult insurance company from which I have ever attempted to receive a claim. This year I am on my third attempt in 4 months to receive a reimbursement for contact lenses. They obviously are very resistant to paying out claims, unlike their complete satisfaction with taking premium payments. Don't let your employer use this company!

      Horrible customer service and online systems. Phone calls get put into a confusing and painful automated phone system, that tends to run you in circles and ask you questions and then drops your call. When you finally do get ahold of a person they transfer you somewhere else which ends up putting you right back into the same broken automated phone system. Pray you never have an issue or question as its impossible to get help. Online customer system is clunky and does not work right. This company is a mess. I gave up on trying to resolve my question with them as they make it near impossible., I wasted an entire morning and got nowhere

      i have had it with ****** and eyemed. i have called 4 times since yesterday to get a list of the providers that are covered by my plan. after all these calls and going through a long automated system system. now after begging for a list i am told on the 4th call that my email does not seem to be working. i have had the same email forever. i believe nothing i am told, they do not do what they say they will do.

      Something SEEMS off at EYEMED. The Company’s favorite providers seem to over charging customers big time. I.e. When using my ***** vision plan, Pearle Vision, an Eyemed provider charges $385 for progressive lenses with anti glare feature. I can get the same at ****** for $130!!! My ***** vision plan cover $250 per year, BUT it doesn’t refund anything unless I use Eyemed’s favorites IN NETWORK. ********* CAREFUL!

      The health insurance offered by EyeMed for vision is really quite appalling. Despite submitting claims both in the mail (hard copies) as well as online, they say that they have not received the claims. How can that be? Do they lose them? Is their email inbox not reliable. I've had to repeat the process three times now and still no luck. Employers who care for their employees' health and wellbeing should not use EyeMed.

      I would give negative stars if I could. Unfortunately my Vision insurance is run through this company and despite being approved for an out of network claim I was not sent my reimbursement timely or notified of an issue to deliver. Come to find out they "have the wrong address" well actually they are missing half of it but my administration and other insurances that I signed for all at the same time have it correct! They refuse to update my information and my administration even called and they refused even though they told me that my administration had to contact them for it to be updated. This needs to be changed! If they have access to all of my information and can verify my identity like they do anyways when i call, then they should be able to, upon verification of identity, update user information. Let alone I was not contacted in any form to be made aware of this mistake on their end. They were aware the reimbursement they sent out was returned to them and they stated that to me, but yet they never contacted me or my admin to rectify the situation so infact I do believe they were not interested in attempting to get the reimbursement to me. Especially since when I called and found out, they refused to reissue it to me at the proper address of which they should have on file in the first place. My administration has called, she was told they would reissue to the proper address but yet told her they would still not update my on file address to the proper one. So if I am to have my admin contact them to make the updates but when they do they are told that it will not be updated I feel as though this company is doing this intentionally to withold payments and communications from clients!

      Customer service doesn't even respond to emails regarding my account and resetting my password. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I need new glasses!! I have been paying this insurance for years and have never been able to log into an account.

      I went to an in network provider for Eyemed for an eye exam, which should have been $0 copay. Instead I was billed by the provider $170 out of pocket. When i submitted the claim to Eyemed, they only paid $40, initially claiming the provider was out of network. When I spoke to them they agreed the provider was in network, but then claimed it was a "medical" eye exam which they do not cover. What a bunch of **. So basically they refused to cover an eye exam from one of their own network providers. Very disappointed in Eyemed.

      I went to an EyeMed preferred provider to get a routine exam. During the exam, they discovered that I am in the beginning stages of cataracts. BECAUSE they discovered a "medical condition," EyeMed will not cover the cost of the ROUTINE exam. What is the purpose of an exam if not to check the health of your eyes? TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. I get zero benefit for my monthly premium. Garbage excuse. An EXAM is an EXAM. The findings are irrelevant.
