on 5-27-2023 went to american commodore to rent a tuxedo for niece's wedding. Put 100.00 deposit down on my credit one credit card. the store shut down. i tried to get resolution thru credit card but they said it had been over 60 days and they could not help me.Initial Complaint

We have several rentals for a birthday party. American Commodore Tuxedo in ***** ******** has closed its doors. We are left without Tuz rentals. Many Tux rentals left without a suit.Initial Complaint

On July 26, 2023 I paid $267.30 to American Commodore. They committed to provide me with a rental suit to use on August 19, 2023. When I went there to check the status of my order, because I have not heard from them, I found out that they are closed. They have not tried to resolve this problem. I would like the $267.30 they stole from me. I have attached the 3 receipts I received the day I placed my order.Initial Complaint

Date of transaction 8/3/2023 for $100.00 down payment for tux rental. I was told that this company sold their business to another company without notice to employees or customers. There have been numerous reports on social media about individuals that have been impacted by this decision. My friends groom party with myself included are currently out of down payment and some even paid in full funds for the tux rental. Since, I’ve received no feedback from this business. The lack of professionalism, and bringing awareness to the customers and dedicated employees is a reflection of the owners values of business. I’m seeking that individuals that have paid are reimbursed for our down payment.Initial Complaint

Our wedding is August 19 2023. On Monday August 7th we call the store to check on the arrival of the tuxes and got a voice-mail. WE then call the mall who informed us that they dont know what going on the store sign was closed . Come to find out on August 6 they closed all the stores in ohio closed. We had all tuxes paid in full at this point leaving us losing $1000.00 which we paid in cash. We have our receipts with our balance being zero. Have reach out to customer service getting no response. Which then we had to find another place to rent tuxes and now our paying for tuxes again and not getting a refund from them.Initial Complaint

On 8/3/2023 I went into American Commodore seeking a suit for a wedding the next week. I was told they could fulfill that order, they needed at least 8 days to do so, I was told this by the clerk. The wedding event was 8/12/2023. I never received any call, text or email. Even called many time just for the call to go straight to voicemail. Visited American commodore in great northern mall twice just to see they were closed, even came at the time they were supposed to have opened up. I realize now they have closed without warning or so far reimbursement for anything purchased and not received. I paid 278.63 for my tux rental and I’m looking for a full reimbursement at least and more honestly for this none sense. This company owes a lot of people.Initial Complaint

I’m in one of my friends weddings and we ordered tux’s from American commodore and they recently closed all their stores without notice of anything. I paid cash in full when I went in to be fitted and never received a refund before they closed all their stores without notice. The wedding is august 26th so I never received my tux for the wedding and they took my payment of cash without a refund.Initial Complaint

BOOKED WITH AMERICAN COMMEDORE FOR OUR 9-1-23 WEDDING. 7 TUXEDOS AND ALL ACCESORIES INCLUDED. DOWN PAYMENTS MADE ON ALL TUXES IN THE AMOUNTS OF AROUND 150.00 EACH, TOTAL BEING ABOUT $1,050. THIS WAS DONE BY APRIL 1,2023. SPOKE TO AMERICAN COMMODORE THE WEEK OF AUGUST 1,2023 ABOUT THE GROOMS TUX BEING FREE AND THE MONEY PAID FOR THAT BEING APPLIED TOWARDS ANOTHER TUX, AS WELL AS ONE BEING RESIZED. FOUND OUT 8,7,23 THAT AMERICAN COMMODORE WENT OUT OF BUSINESS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF IT, NO PLANS FOR REIMBURSEMENT, NOTHING. GROOMS TUX WAS SUPPOSED TO COME IN NEXT WEEK! NOTHING WAS MENTIONED WHILST ON THE PHONE THE PREVIOUS WEEK. WE ARE NOW LEFT SCRAMBLING TO ENSURE WE WILL HAVE TUXEDOS IN TIME FOR OUR WEDDING, THAT MATCHES OUR COLORS, AND THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE INCLUDED FOR A DECENT PRICE. OUR WEDDING IS IN ******,**, AND MUST NOW GO TO ***** ******** TUXEDO JUNCTION TO FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS. EXTREMELY UPSET AND DIFFICULT DUE TO THE TIMING BEFORE OUR WEDDING AND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE ARE NOW OUT.
