To whomever it may concern, My name is ****** ******* and am a member at the Midwest located at the sylvania, Ohio address. On March 18, 2023 I arrived at the facility at 7:30am to hopefully secure the first spot in line which I did! Super excited I held my spot in line for an hour and thirty minutes threw the snowy cold after enduring a 12hr night shift of my own just to make it through the doors at 9am WHEN FINALLY LET IN by an employee to see that one of the employees had already taken down the mp5 I was first in line for and started selling it to someone else. When asked why the other customer was able to make a purchase before 9am the manager ,********, stated he had been let in before 9am and walked over from a training class which was very unprofessional given the email and the employee I talked to stated it was first come first serve and the doors open at 9am. The said customer did not wait in line like everybody else and therefore should have been ineligible to participate in the sale. I have emailed someone supposedly higher up than the manager but have gotten no response in a week.

    [BBB Transcription via Email]

Mr. ****** ******* attended a member's only event on Saturday March 18th. He was first in line for this event and waiting outside for our store to open. Our location has firearms training that starts before the store opens, on this day the second customer to arrive at the store was one of the training clients. He was let into the facility to start his session at 8:45am. He informed his trainer as they were getting ready to start that he was the second person here and he would rather give up his session to maintain his place in line to purchase a firearm. We did allow him to do so with the stipulation that he could not start any sale until 9am when we opened and that there was one gentleman in line before him (****** *******).

We opened the doors at 9am and ****** came right to the counter and a gun was pulled off the wall for him. I (******** ****** ***) approached him to start his paperwork process while two other associates started helping the second and third people in line. About 8 minutes into the process Mr. ******* asked why another customer was getting a particular gun because he wanted it. I let him know that the gentleman was 2nd in line and had asked for the gun and Mr. ******* had not said anything to me about wanting the gun during the entire time I had been helping him. He went on to say he also wanted the gun the third customer was getting but he had not said anything about that firearm either. I apologized that he was unable to get those items since we were serving several people at the same time, and he had not informed me he wanted those items.

This function was a no hold function and Mr. ******* was given then first gun he asked for and had ample time to let me know he desired more than that gun but did not communicate that until it was too late. He proceeded to be very rude to all of my associates and the other two customers. Several days later we got several negative reviews on Facebook from Mr. ******* and his friends who do not have memberships with us but claimed to and also claimed to have interactions that were bad, but they were not here for the sale. There were also 6 fake accounts made that same day with the same reviews as Mr. *******. We have attempted to meet him in the middle on this situation, but he is unwilling to come to any such agreement.

If any further clarification is required, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The information provided in the response from Midwest shooting center is false! I provided photo evidence that I was the first person in line and did everything as stated by email! If Midwest is so honest and in the right why can they not do the same? I was not rude to any other customers and the actual customer that was second in line even initiated a conversation with me to tell me how messed up he thought the situation was and that what they were doing is wrong. The only conversation I had while going through the purchase process of the firearm they did not sell out from under me aside from the customer second in line was with two employees one being the manager, ********, and another employee both of which I was not rude to what so ever, only honest! I also believe that the employee that wrote the response from Midwest shooting center is also the employee who asked ten minutes before opening outside the facility’s front doors what firearms everyone wanted and than proceeded to inform me  inside that even though he knew what specific firearm I wanted it was ok that he gave it to someone else because I was already buying two  other firearms. It was unprofessional employees to do this to a member but it’s total  blasphemy that they openly admitted it and the business still condoned such unprofessional conduct! This is just another case in society of the big guy ******** on the little guy just because he can! Lastly, the only option offered to me was charging me an absurd amount of money to cancel my membership and I fail to see any benefit of that on my end and refuse!
    Sincerely,

    ****** *******
