I live at ********* apartments in ******** **. I have a parking permit displayed at all times as it hangs from the rear view mirror. I walked out to find my car missing. I was on hold with the police when we thought to call Shamrock as we see them in the parking lot all the time. They told us they did indeed tow the car and we told them the parking pass was displayed. They claim that it was face down on the floor in the passenger side of the vehicle. There is no way that this pass which hangs from the mirror and has never fallen suddenly managed to fall randomly in that position. I was told to take it up with my apartment complex but this is very shady business. The police office who advised me to pay them and then dispute it later told me that there is a very good reason the city of ******** does not authorize Shamrock towing as a towing vendor for them. He advised me to look into other complaints against this company and said that towing vendors sometimes open car doors and purposefully make passes fall so they can collect their money. I have since taped the pass to the window so that if it is done again it will be obvious that they peeled the tape off. This was all extremely ridiculous and caused me to miss work and believe my car was stolen as it was parked in the spot that I pay for and have a pass for.Initial Complaint

On April 14th, my car was towed by this company illegally, they told me they were told by the OSU campus police to do so. I asked them for proof and they refused to do so. As such I asked for a refund and the person whose name is *** said: "It is not going to happen" What in the world that a business just go ahead to take people's property away and force people to pay them to get their property back without giving proof of what legal ground they have? I was going to put a bad review on their website and I was not able to do it this morning. They turned off that function. If they are not guilty, why did they do so?Initial Complaint

Was informed by their driver after an accident that my car had to be towed to their lot and the fee was $17.00 a day. They picked up my car (non-drivable) from the accident scene around 6:00pm Thursday night. On Friday morning at 8am I had another tow truck at their lot to pick it up, they then changed me a two day storage fee at $40.00 a day. When I questioned it they stated it was what they are told to charge per the Westerville Police Department. I called the police department and was told they do not have anything to do with pricing on any tows that is at the discretion of the towing company. They lie outright and are very under handedInitial Complaint

Paid for parking (see image) and parked right next to the pay machine and still got towed. It was $170 to get it out of the lot, $13 to Uber to the lot, and damage to my vehicleInitial Complaint

My daughters car was towed by Shamrock. The car should not have been towed do to construction blocking her spot. We are taking this issue up with the housing management company. The car was towed on May 21. My daughter was out of town. We drove to Ohio to pick her up from the airport and move her out of her house on May 25. This is when we found the car had been towed. Charges are $129 for tow, $17 a day storage and $75 for a letter sent to our home in Illinois were the car is registered. As of today, June 2, I have not received the letter. I called shamrock today and they said they could not control the mail , but said the letter was sent certified. I asked for a receipt that it was mailed and they said they didn’t have one. Then they said the letter was mailed on May 30. I want my $75 returned if I don’t receive the letter they said they sent. This is a scam, they never sent the letter. This business should be shut down for cheating people and taking advantage of people.Initial Complaint

Was towed on Wednesday 3/1/23 despite paying for parking (different companies issue). Went to pick up my car out of the lot, was told the card machine was having issues and was stuck displaying “receiving”. I told the cashier that I didn’t feel comfortable running my card a second time for that amount ($336). It’s the first, rent is due, I just switched jobs and cannot afford $600 removed from my account. Who can? I was told “the manager said it would cancel the first transaction if I unplug it”. I told him I didn’t trust that and he said if I didn’t listen to him then my car would just sit there. I’m a single mom 45 minutes away and was forced to agree as I had no choice in the matter. I checked my account approximately 30 minutes after leaving and found that my account had been charged twice. I immediately called the number back and spoke to someone named Jake in an office who said to call back the next day (Thursday) when management returned and to email my issue to a provided email. Which I did and hadn’t heard back. Today, Friday, I called again and was told management had already left for the weekend at (call was at ****). As well as my account being charged twice, it was 2 diff amounts. I believe this was due to employee retaliation at my upset attitude when he didn’t give me a choice at running my card or be stranded.Initial Complaint

I had dinner at Fireproof Restaurant located at 1026 N Hight Street on 2/4/23. I parked in a lot located behind the restaurant that was identified as public parking (see Picture #1) and I paid my fee at the machine (see Picture #2). Shamrock towed my car for being in a "permit parking only" lot but the sign pointed to a lot down the street (see Picture #3). The signs, at the very least, are confusing. At the worst, this seems like predatory towing. I am requesting a refund of $159.95 which represents what I paid to Shamrock Towing located at 1145 Hamlet St, Columbus Ohio, 43201. Due to car malfunctioning issues parked at 298 N Garfield Ave.columbus, Ohio 43203 business property "The King Arts Complex" I was not able to move my car on Sunday 1.8.23. Shamrock Towing , INC towed my car to their impound lot as of 1,11.23. They say they towed it from *** *** ****** **** ******** ****. Which is NOT where the car was located. If said car was parked on the street than yes it should be towed as it was a safety concern. The car was parked in and on a parking lot not posing a safety concern. There was no notification sent until the car was towed in which Shamrock notified me they had the vehicle at their impound lot 1145 Hamlet St Columbus, Oh 43201 and I had to pay them to get it released.Initial Complaint

have violated the lease agreement. The property manager had my vehicle removed from private property. The property manager has confirmed they did not properly authorize my vehicle to be towed from the property; where I'm allowed to park at. My vehicle was towed under the circumstances of being illegally parked on private property, but there was no notice was sent to the police. Sheriff, or myself. My vehicle was towed under the circumstances of a missing tag, but my registration was valid. Once I was aware of a missing tag I promptly filed a report and ordered new tags. I’ve tried to pay the fees for my car to be released, but (Shamrock Towing) will not accept payment and refused to return my vehicle. (Shamrock Towing) – told me “ not my problem” and hung upInitial Complaint
