on 28march2024 i dropped my vehicle off for a transmission issue. i was told that if i completed the work with them they would waive the inspection fee. "*****" the store manager told me they would call when they had diagnosed it and BEFORE they completed any work. he stated that he could get me a used transmission with 30K miles on it IF the whole thing needed replaced and that would cost 3500USD. ***************** my calls for a whole day and then stated he "completed all work" and "did some extra things to help me out" he referenced a control arm that was just replaced by another shop. he said the charge for the additional work was 500 USD and that if i "paid in cash " he would " avoid charging me taxes" that put us at 4000USD. ***** did not replace the entire transmission instead he put 900 dollars worth of motor mounts on it". i went back with my receipt and showed where he "cooked his book" by adding labor into the parts cost and charging the same amount in the labor line. he billed 4000 for 1600 worth of parts and labor. when i showed him where i could prove on the bill he overcharged me and that the 3500 agreed on was for a whole new transmission not for motor mounts HE BILLED ME FOR PARTS I NEVER RECEIVED . when i asked for a correct bill for what he actually did he said he "could not make the receipt book out because i helped you out". he also said he got parts "lying around" meaning he cannot argue with his own documentation and his words from our phone calls. he lied about the work completed and he charged me for a transmission i never received. when i told him i wanted a new receipt so he could argue with himself in court(if i have to take it that far) he called me a " basket case B%$#@," and threatened to "beat my A#$" . he called me a "P%$$^" and told me to " get the F$%# out of his store while claiming " I'm not the one" he then followed me out of the store continuing his empty threats. and said hed **** me for defamation if i said anything about this"

                           To whom it may concern,

This gentleman based on what he said is a pathological liar. Part of the problem is that there were two people involved in the discussion and or scope of the repairs mainly being his wife whom apparently did not communicate our discussion with him. The amount of repairs in total that were discussed with his wife with no discounts would have been north of six thousand dollars she explained money was tight and asked if there were any ways we could get costs down to make repairs for they had roughly 4000 dollars to work with. I agreed to make it a package price and make amount 4000 to help them. With that being said i would have to grattis parts for free . This was explained on phone to Mr. ********* wife and him also upon picking up his vehicle which he was happy and thanked us upon picking up. Days passed and ******************** return with a very assertive/ militant attitude claiming we F#cked him to top of his lungs  threatening attorneys ect i tried to reason with him and explain it was a communication error between him and his wife. ******************** also vented about another repair shop he claimed  ripped him off and it "always happens to him"  maybe it's his communication skills?  I believe this is also buyers remorse because everything was explained at counter upon cashing him out in regard to his bill and he was fine with it at time of purchase... He also doesn't mention car is repaired and has no problems. There will be no refund period.

                                                                         Sincerely

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
***** is the pathological liar and is unaware that the conversation he had with my wife i was present for. the other shop he mentions  me bringing up was in regard to shops lying about pricing and changing the price once they had possession of the vehicle. just like his did. this was the reason i paid him the amount was to ensure i got my property back. a quick look at the BBB complaints and reviews will show you that i am not the only person to have these experiences with them. and that ***** and his owner **** threaten to keep peoples property and threaten them physical harm quite frequently. it was in my best interest to retrieve my property before voicing my concerns to avoid this happening to me. i did not "SCREAM you ****** me"  nor did i state this always happens to me as he implies. actually i told him i would use his documentation as well as the recorded phone calls we had and " he could argue with himself" he may be a liar but you cant argue against recordings. i simply showed him the bill and where i could prove he cooked the books to match the amount he wanted and that he did not do the work he stated. he said it would be 3500 for a transmission with 30k miles on it. he did not put that in and he made the parts that he allegedly replaced match the cost of the 3500 he knew i had. when he refers to " working within my budget" that comes based off the price he gave me for a new (used ) transmission.  i did mention the use of legal action if he did not rectify the issue as that would be my only other course of action. ***** stated he had "deep pockets and wasnt worried about legal action" it appears he gets these pockets from ripping people off quite often again a look into the BBB complaints and reviews will show you who is lying and who is not.
      Regards,

Took my car there for an oil filter adaptor replacement January 19th and they diagnosed and found more reasons why my oil light was on. Gave them **** cash to remove my oil light and within 2 hours the light is back on because they didnt replace my oil sensor. Brought it back and they said they will fix it with no charge. Now every Time I try to bring it back they either cant get to it or now they dont have the part until Monday. I Dont think they have any intention on fixing it since they have already been paid. So I scheduled another appointment for next Friday and lets see what the reason is then. Then I received a call from the owner telling me if I leave bad reviews my car wont get fixed and it was a dck move to review and I will tell it to your face I am a big guy and can handle myself very unprofessional.

               **************,

You never gave us a opportunity to repair sensor. We didn't diagnose the vehicle is was towed from a dealer of which you weren't satisfied by them either. We run a very busy shop and cant always just drop what we are doing to accommodate unfortunately. We also didn't charge you for sensor but was going to donate as a customer good will . We have been short staffed as i explained due to influenza a outbreak in our shop. I feel we just were not moving as fast as you wanted us too but we have to address customers cars in order they come in ***** the appointment you had friday and wrote reviews before giving us opportunity to make is right and that isn't right.... now if friday came and we didn't help you that would be a different story.

8/28/2023 Made an appointment with AAMCO to look at my transmission which felt like it was slipping in low gear. 8/30/2023 brought my car in, owner diagnosed the problem from my description without looking at my car and immediately signed me up for 12 mos. same as cash. Quoted me $4500, I assumed for a rebuilt part from his comments. 8/31/2023, car was ready. ***** said there was a misunderstanding on the price, quoting me the part only, but I held him to the quoted *****. Drove home, transmission was leaking fluid. Took back, they temporarily fixed until they could get a seal. After fixing a few days later, transmission acted as before, slipping in low gear. Owner told me it was my driveshaft, stating it was stiff. We argued, I said why did you give me anew transmission? They took the car for several days, said they would drive it while I was on vacation. Checked the odometer, they only drove it 8.8 miles over 10 days. Took the car, but couldn't get it to slip while they were riding with me. Drove home, but the problem would still act up, but not consistently just as before. After researching, decided to put premium gas with fuel injector cleaner in my tank and after two tanks of premium gas and cleaner, problem has completely gone away. Appears my transmission was never bad, my engine was mis-firing at low speeds. When looking to trade the car in, dealer noted the service performed per the carfax was only a transmission fluid change, not a replacement. They also incorrectly put the mileage at ******* instead of ******* for whatever reason. Not only did I not need a transmission, I have doubts it was even replaced. Total bill was $4837.66. I'm willing to pay for the fluid change, $227.52 for the fluid, $90.00 for the labor plus tax, totaling $269.86. I'm asking for a refund of $4567.80, the difference. I caught the owner changing his story each time I questioned him, obviously lying and using deceptive business practices to fool the customer to make a bad decision.

I took my car in for them to look at the transmission on 3/7/23. They kept telling me well look at it here later on 3/16 they finally call saying my transmission is shot. They estimated $4500 and said additionally the found something else that they wanted to charge $800 for. We said NO, we will have our other mechanic do it. They then said okay give us until next Friday (3/24/23) and your car will be done. On MONDAY (3/20/23) they call and give me a verbal bill of $6500+. They had, WITHOUT PERMISSION, fixed another issue. We were never contacted regarding this additional $2,000 charge, and they refused to take the amount off of the bill. When they told me why they fixed the separate issue, I was told its what I would have done with my car and that MY vehicle was spewing oil from a pump. Prior to taking my vehicle to the shop, there were NO oil leaks, I park my car in the same spot every single day and there are NO oil spots. They said the only way the charge could be taken off is if they take the time to remove the extra piece and put the old one back on. I refused because at this point I no longer have any trust with the ***** who allowed this all to go on to not mess with my vehicle. He has proven to be a very emotional person with the way he talked to my mother on the phone, calling her a B***h. I feel as if I should be refunded because there is NO signature on paper saying that the work could be preformed, and there is no audio recording of it either. This is absolutely unacceptable, and Im curious as to how many people he has done this to. I feel like me being a younger guy about to graduate college made him think he could just simply get away with it.

Consumer goes to *** and mom lives in Southern ****.

The vehicle came in and wasn't running correctly. The father gave me authorization to complete the repairs.

I invited the consumer and his mother in to look at the transmission and they took the old pump with them.

I offered to put the old part back on the car, but they didn't want it.

I had an appt. Thurs, 9am, dropped my car/keys off on Wed night. Thur noon i called was ******** had no contact info, so my car was just sitting there. I had given them all information my concerns. I provided them with the codes that came up from Auto-zone they didn't want to look at them. I asked them to check the wiring because from research seems like a possible wiring issue. A couple hours later they call and say the transmission is bad and I need to decide right now if I want a new one. My only car, single mom, work full time 30 minutes away and my parents who babysit live an hour away so, my only option is to get the new transmission, he gave me a price and we discussed this price and financing it. told me "***** out the door". Friday I get a call from AMCOO "Hi is this NB, yeah we have your ****** in here and its throwing some codes, tell me what's going on." very confused I asked what is going on and asked if my car was being worked on, and no it was not. The manager calls back and apologizes for the confusion and says he will get the car finished today (Friday). I go to pick up my car with the money in cash and the guy says it's $4,800. And I said thats not what ***** and I discussed. Called ***** he was disrespectful, vile, screamed at me the entire time saying he makes the rules, he makes the pricing. I said well your calls are recorded for quality assurance so lets pull those and see. He sgain screams at me belittling me. Crying i go in just give them the cash and leave. My car still has the same issue I take to ****** pay $130 to have my car diagnosed because infelt unsafe and uncomfortable going back. ****** said its a bad transmissions if you have a warranty theh have to fix it. Second transmission put in same problem and then extra, My car completely stalls out at stops all the lights on the dash come on and it has to be restarted at almost every stop. I call ***** and tell him that again my car is not working properly. He tells me to f*** off b****

She didn't have money to pay the bill. She did have legitimate issue and she called corporate. We invited her back into the shop, and we paid for the transmission repairs. She called back to say that she was having problems, but she would not bring the car back for us to take a look at it.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of my decision appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this response.]

I was misquoted the price on the phone and they reguse to pull up their phone records to prove that. I had $3,450 in cash that I paid with that night indicted up my car my friend was withvme *** waited outside the entire time. It took forever to count the money that should also be on se unity footage. So that is a lie.  I did bring my car back after the first transmission replacement after paying 150 to take it ****** to have them diagnose it and said it **** a bad transmission. After I informed AMCOO I took it there and I had paperwork to prove it they said they would put another do this is the second transmission put into my vechile. They put in tje seconds d transmission and now more car stalls moat time I stop and I have to s*** my car off and turn it back on. I called them my dad called me I got called a b**** and said he would call the cops if I called again my father called and he screamed at my father as well. I called AMCOO corporate and basically nothing can be done because he owns that store. He lied, didnt diagnose my car properly put a bad transmission in and now is lying saying I didnt have the payment? Listen to the recordings (they called from their cellphones a lot to avoid recorded calls) and look at the security footage. This man literally cussed me out for asking him questions kvee the phone when I was trying to understand the problems. But since he reieced his payment in cash that night he didnt care about me or my issues anymore
