On May 4, 2023 I receive a collection letter. It was for a July 22, 2020 bill for $375.83 to Philcare Medical Supplies. I have never heard of that business. I sent a request to Assured Collections for a copy of the invoice. If I could give them a zero I would. A one is to high a rating!!

**** * I received my first collection notice early this year, 2023 (over 3 years after my surgery) from Assured Collections. This collection agency is filing for Philcare Medical Supplies for a leg Compression Device following HAND Surgery back in 2020 in the amount of $5,995.00. I had never heard of either companies until receipt of the collection letter. This device was not covered and deemed 'Medically Unnecessary' by Medicare and my secondary insurance company. Prior to the surgery, I spoke in length with the surgical center and the surgeon's office. I was assured that my surgery was completely covered - no out of pocket money owed. I have reached out to Philcare via several phone numbers that are no longer in service so I am unable to communicate with them and wonder if the company no longer exists. I have reached out to Assured Collections speaking with "Alexis" who threatened legal action against me; other phone calls went straight to voicemail. I have contacted my surgeon and the surgery center and have been told my account was paid in full in 2020. I find I am left with no other recourse but to immediately contact Elder Abuse through the Attorney General's office (in both Texas and Oklahoma) with emphasis on Texas Penal Code 32.53 regarding the exploitation of an elderly individual and petition an investigation.

I am also a victim of this scam with Philcare Medical Supplies and Assured Financial collection agency. I received a piece of expensive delivered to my home that I did not order. I was addressed to me. I had to open the package in order to get a phone number to determine who sent it to me and why? I called and was told by the company representative Beth that my Dr.'s Office ordered it for an upcoming operation. I asked them how much is this going to cost me? I was told that I would not be liable for anything that my medical insurance company did not pay. I never received a bill from Philcare until 4 years after my surgery. I was contacted by Assured Financial LLC four years later. Within 48 hours I disputed the charge in writing and sent the dispute via Priority Mail. Assured Financial responded by sending me my personal medical records from my physician's office with an incorrect medical history and my full social security number through unsecured mail, threatening legal action.

I had surgery on my shoulder in September 2017. I received a notice from assured financial in November 2022 stating that I still owed $700 from that surgery. The notice stated that things were put on hold due to Covid. I set up a payment plan for $50 a month to start December 2. My husband lost his job and I had to reset up another payment plan starting in March. The payment was made in March and April. In May the company took out $150 and recently on the 2 June they took out $450. I’ve tried calling them to find out about the balance on my account and wondering if I’ve been scammed. The phone just rings and goes to voicemail. I’ve left a voicemail, but no returned call.

We just received 4 bills totaling $689.71 for phantom purchases of equipment from Philcare Medical Supplies in 2020 & 2021. We were so stunned, knowing we'd never purchased any such items & had no outstanding medical bills, that we twice called the 833 no. on the bills, left a message to please call back, but have never heard a peep. This is obviously a scam!

Don’t pay these trumped up charges! I, too, received a letter from Assured Collections claiming I owe Philcare $5995.00 for an unspecified charge, supposedly in connection with a surgery I had in 2019. I have never received a bill from Philcare. I, too, believe this us a scam. I will notify the Consumer Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

Assured Collections sent me a threatening letter demanding collection of a debt I have not incurred. I have never dealt with the Philcare Medical Supplies company they represent and I have never before received any first, second, or any other request for payment, invoices, bills, emails, texts, or any other means of communication before to this demand. I have spoken with my doctors who might have dealt with Philcare, and they tell me all my bills have been paid and are up to date. If all this is true, then what gives?

My elderly father has received multiple calls from Assured Collections, LLC for a debt to Philcare Medical Supplies for medical supplies that Philcare delivered to him without his request or knowledge. My father had no discussion with his doctor about this equipment and had no idea what it was. He called PhilCare and told them he didn't want it. They told him to leave it outside and that they would pick it up, which is exactly what happened. Now, 1.5 years later, my elderly father is being harassed by Assured Colelctions saying that he owes thousands of dollars for this equipment. This is a total scam. He called the phone number for Philcare but it it no longer in service. He tried to contact someone at Assured Collections, but can not speak to anyone - it goes straight to a voicemail box #1. These companies are committing elder abuse and we will contact the FTC.

Same deal folks. I got two letters from them, called 3 times, no reply. Who has ever heard of a "collection agency" not answering their phone, OR, not returning calls? Why does it take 4 years for Philcare Medical to send to collections? The amount "owed" was quite suspect, too. 1 star is too much. Juydging from tge dates of the posts, this appears to have just recently started..

5-12-23 recvd coll ltr frm 9-2020 knee surgery, called and emailed 5-15 asking for info and Disputing Claim, as both my Medi & Tri-Care military said ALL is paid; 5-24 no response to 5-15 email, nor an answer of the phones for the x4 calls to both land lines with no answer. I’M A RETIRED BANKER… dispute these claims IF not legit, ASAP. Keep good records on ur calls and e-mails to them. By your State and Federal LAW, they have to reply to your Dispute, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act/ FCRA, and debt collection Act. Take a screen shot of your outgoing (AND IF they ever call you Back) Incoming Calls to them, in your ‘Recent Calls’ area of your phone. This will show your date, your time called, and the length of calls. IF they turn You over for further coll, as a collection to the 3 Credit Bureaus. The Coll could possibly affect your Scores by 20+ points. This can be a costly score drop, when u go to get a car or house loan, as you’ll get a lower score and then a higher interest rate.
