AAA does not offer that we will be cheaper. The telephone verification clearly states ******** charges maybe higher or lower than PGE gas charges." the customer did agree to this statement in the telephone verification. The account has been submitted for a cancellation which can take up to 60 days to close out per PGE rules and this is listed on their website.

AAA does have a verbal verification of the customer signing up for service. We can process the customers account for a cancellation and per PGE tariff the account will end on the next meter read. AAA does not have any record of this customer ever calling in to cancel.

On 3/27/24 at 9am I got a call from Triple A Energy via PG&E (they said on the phone) as a Senior, I could save money if I were to switch from PGE to Triple A for ****************** They had me rehearse saying just 'yes' to their 'Verify' person even saying I should not say I was on the CARE Program although I am!HARD TO SHUT THEM UP OR NOT AGREE! I should have hung up on them. Third party nonsense tying to weasel money from older folks like ******* 73 yr old husband. LIARS Before I hung up I asked about cancellation fee of $100. they said that is for 'others' to pay, not me! What crap! they also waited till end to say they charge an additional $.05 per DAY for the 3years o f service. NOT FOR ME! They are LIARS and SCAMMERS!!My husband kept saying they were not on the level and hang up. I did agree to this on the phone - was told I would receive a packet in the mail to sign and send back Only if I wanted the service and if NOT I would NOT be 'enlisted' but I am doubtful of this. I worry they will sign me up anyway.I DO NOT WANT THEIR TRIPLE A ENERGY SERVICE! Leave me on PG&E!

I am unable to speak with my voice because of potential cancerous growths on my vocal cords. Please respond only by e-mail. I am the victim of a phone scam on January 19, 2024. I reported the scam call to PG&E as a fraud on January 23, 2024. I was illegally enrolled in AAA Energy Services of *****, ** via a phone scam. I never asked to be changed from my bundled natural gas service with PG&E. I never consented to being slammed from one utility company to another utility company. In fact, I hung up twice on the scam phone callers so they could not possibly have completed a completed voice log (TPV). If an MP3 of that voice log shows I consented, the audiotape has been fraudulently edited. My voice on that call was very hoars as I could barely talk. I agreed to no such thing, and was never told what the terms, conditions or pricing would be. I received a call from a company that lied repeatedly during the call representing that hey were PG&E employees claiming perhaps during a recorded voice log (TPV) that We are PG&E. I have reported this scam to both the ************************************** (****) and to PG&E. I want to be returned to my previous bundled service with PG&E immediately, not 60 days from now, without incurring any charges from AAA Energy Services. My first bill from PG&E that listed AAA Energy as my so-called CTA shows zero dollars due to AAA, probably because the **** may have begun an investigation into the fraudulent scam. I need the BBBs help to make sure I am returned to bundled service with PG&E and the fraudulent account with AAA ********************** is completely closed and cancelled without me being required to pay AAA Energy one red cent! Please see my attached complaints in PDF format to the **** and PG&E.PG&E Account Number: ************** AAA *********** Agreement Id #: ************ ESPA Customer Number: ******

AAA has attached the telephone verification in which the first half is the agent providing the information and the second half is the customer agreeing to the information. The customer did reach out via email in which i stated we would cancel the account as well as credit him if he was charged anything to avoid future issues. The customer has continued to email in which i did leave him a voicemail letting him know again we have cancelled his account as well as would credit him if he was charged anything. I can verify the voicemail and the telephone verification do sound like the same person. The customer has not been charged anything and his account will end on 4/9/2024. We have addressed this with the **** as well.

I do NOT accept the Response submitted by the business ("AAA Natural Gas" a.k.a., or d.b.a. "AAA Energy Services") in question due to reasons outlined in a letter to the Tulsa BBB I have e-mailed to both ********************* at the BBB of Tulsa and provided a courtesy copy of to  "AAA Energy Services."   In addition, I am separately sending my **revised** proposed "Rebuttal" to "AAA Energy's" response to the BBB that I wish the BBB to post on-line on its web site as my official rebuttal to "AAA Energy's" response.  "AAA" should NOT be allowed to edit what I believe is my truthful account of my experiences with "AAA Energy Services."  Thanks, **************************************

      ************************************
      *****, *******; 74145

      Dear ************,

As I indicated in my letter to you dated April 5, I am submitting herewith a revised document containing the formal Rebuttal I want posted on the BBBs website as my reply to the response AAA Energy submitted to the BBB concerning my complaint.

Again, let me repeat that I dont think AAA Energy Services should be allowed to edit my rebuttal document, because the text I wrote is what I consider to be my truthful account of my actual experiences with this company, particularly around the digitally-edited records issue involved that members of the public should be alerted to quickly.

Please note that this revised version deletes the statements about those areas of agreement and disagreement I have following review of AAAs response to the BBB.  I believe it is more important for members of the public to see broader problems I have with AAAs overall response, particularly about the digitally-altered records.

My response is just 427 words.  If there is a word count limit, please advise.

Since your previous guidance indicated that the text of my response may not be posted until the complaint is closed, my question now is:  How soon will it take to formally close my complaint now that I have identified how I think AAA should revise its solution to address my remaining concerns to my satisfaction?

I think members of the public should be alerted to information uncovered in my complaint as quickly as possible, particularly around the digitally-altered records issue.  I thought I had seen some complaints on the BBBs web site where a complainants initial rebuttal was followed by a subsequent response from a business in a step-wise fashion of posting responses on-line in-between and before final resolution of a given complaint.

      Please advise

      Thank you.

Revised consumer statement (see below and attached):

AAA claimed during its response to the Better Business Bureau responding to my complaint, that the recorded voice log alternatively known as a *** file, which stands for Third-Party Verification was an accurate record that I had voluntarily chosen AAA Energy Services to provide me with natural gas under customer choice.  I did no such thing.

Indeed, transcribing the MP3 file AAA provided to the Better Business Bureau revealed that snippets of two scam phone calls I received on January 19 had been imported into the ******************s call center computer records, including the gas agreement ID number separate and distinct from my PG&E account number.  The *** file was obviously a complete scam, and clearly was digitally edited!

Painstakingly transcribing that call verbatim revealed that **** acting as a customer service agent at an enrollment marketing company named AnswerNet asserted she was confirming my enrollment as a customer of AAA **********************.  AAAs term sheet asserts any ****************** would have been acting as a CUSTOMERS AGENT.  I can guarantee for the BBB that I never authorized ***.com or AnswerNet to act as my agent, nor did I ask them to enroll me with AAA Energy.  To assert otherwise would be patently untrue, because at my age, I know how to ask for an agent when I need one (like a healthcare agent or a power-of-attorney agent).

The *** record AAA provided to the Better Business Bureau asserted I had been brought onto the call at one minute and 40 seconds into the call.  The audio contained snippets of my voice up to three minutes and 20 seconds into the call that appeared to have been digitally spliced into the *** MP3 file (because I hadnt been on the *** call in MP3 format at all).  Between the tape counter at 0:3:20 and the end of the call at 0:11:02 my voice was switched out to a fake customers male voice having an Indian accent, which clearly was not me (I have a classic midwestern twang for an accent and because of surgical removal of lesions on my vocal cords, have an extremely hoarse voice, a bare whisper).  The fake person agreed to slamming my gas service from PG&E to AAA Energy Services.  I did not voluntarily choose AAA; instead, scammers involuntarily slammed my natural gas service to AAA Energy.  Customers going through similar problems should demand they be provided with an MP3 recorded voice log *** file and should closely check the recording because the *** recorded voice logs may have been digitally manipulated and altered.

      Hi ************ and **************,

I e-mailed you and the BBB in ***** three weeks ago on April 5 and April 6 (see below), but have not heard anything further back from you.  I have re-attached to this e-mail my formal response to AAA Energy" reply to the BBB.   I had also sent you revised, corrected text on April 6 in a ********* Word file of my response I would like to see posted on the BBB's web site, if possible.  Please let me know if I should re-send you that ********* Word file.

I have have noticed that on the BBB's web site of complaints against "AAA Energy" that there are several new complaints listed as either being resolved, or responded to by "Triple A" but I don't see my complain listed on-line yet.

Can you please provide me with an update on the status of my complaint, and whether the BBB has heard anything further from the BBB about my remaining concerns on this complaint?

Just FYI, I have heard back from the ************************************** who shared with me the contact information to the ************************ regarding my concerns that the "voice recorded log" audio file had been potentially digitally altered to claim I had consented to "AAA Energy" becoming my natural gas provider, when I never did any such thing.

I'm anxious, ****** and ******** for other consumers to see the description of my complaint being posted on the BBB's we site.  Please let me know where this stands and how close my complaint is to be closed out and resolved.

      Thank you.

      Hi ********,

      Thanks for responding so quickly.

I just called PG&E to confirm whether *** Energy has dropped off of my account yet as being my CTA.

The PG&E Customer Rep, a woman name ***** just told me that my last PG&E bill through April 9 had listed *** Energy as the gas supplier.  ***** also checked and PG&E apparently read my meter the next day on April 10.

Importantly and ***** this to ****** and to *** Energy ***** at PG&E could not see that PG&E has received an electronic record of terminating my account with *** effective April 9, and hasnt received an electric disconnect notice.  The BBB should ask *** why those electronic records (which theoretically happen pretty quickly these days !) havent reached PG&E yet!!

So theoretically, *** should have stopped my account with them on April 9 unless they were providing incorrect information to the BBB in ******

It has now been since April 5 and April 6 since I last e-mailed you and ****** asking you tell /*** know I didnt like their initial response.  Theyve already had three going on four weeks to get back to the BBB a second time.

I would appreciate it ******** if you or ****** would reach back out the *** and make them provide the BBB with their final response so you can list my complaint on your web site to help alert other customers of the fact that the sdo-called authorization TPV recorded voice logs are being digitally edited as a complete scam.

Cant the BBB start posting my complaint on-line now without the BBB providing you ca complete response.  Members of the public should have to wait for *** to get their act together!

Thanks, and please keep me updated as you can

      Best,

      *******

p.s.:  Thanks also ******** for the links to the California and Oklahoma attorney generals offices.  Ive been dragging my feet on filing complaints with them, but am starting to write those complaints today!

      Hi **************** and ************,

********, I hope your surgery went well and that you are back at work, safely.

I just called PG&E and they could finally confirm that their records finally show "AAA Natural Gas" / "AAA Energy Services has been removed as a CTA on my PG&E Bill and I am now apparently back on bundled service with PG&E.

I have not gotten my next PG&E bill yet 9I'll get it in the net couple of days) so i don't know for sure yet whether "AAA" ended up charging me a early "termination fee" or other such nonsense.

But I'm very annoyed that "AAA" may not have responded to the BBB yet about my concerns about the first response "AAA" provided to the BBB.

More so, I had been hoping that my summary of my complaint would be posted on the BBB's web site to alert other customers about my having been scammed.

Can't you tell me, please, if the BBB has some way of just posting my complaint as being resolved without you getting a follo9w-up reply from "AAA" about my concerns to their initial response to the BBB?

Please advise ... since I had really hope to get my short "case summary" I submitted to you previously posted on your web site as quickly as possible to alert other consumers ... and here it is just languishing indefinitely!

      Thanks,

Sometime in October 2023 I received a sales pitch from AAA natural gas with misinformed information hiked up sales pitch on promises of lower costs, better service from AAA natural gas company as a Senior citizen Im on a fixed income so lower cost are always on my mind. I admit I didnt understand what the lady was offering as she made promises that my bill would be a fixed amount every month has been higher than my prior bills no change in lower costs. My daughter was the one who found out this was a scam a letter came to the house stating the changes were made to AAA natural gas from ***E with a confirmation letter she called and insisted service to be changed back immediately as she is the home owner and also on the *** E bill with her contact information to make changes also to any services. The customers account was signed up in October of 2023. The reason her bill is higher is due to her burning more gas for the winter months which we see with all residential customers. The account was submitted for a cancellation when she called in and we did confirm to her on 2/23 that her account ended on 2/15/2024.

As long as the service is cancelled 02-14-24 as stated on the response from the Business and  we receive no other correspondence in of any type present and future from this company and or any subsidiaries as stated on the original complaint.

Received a letter from PG&E regarding change to gas procurement by a third party. I do not recall authorization though a questionable recording presented by AAA Energy Service of my voice answering general yes and no questions to dispute or cancel pending change. AAA Energy Service claims authorization is followed up with a confirmation letter. The only notice received, by mail, was from PG&E noting changes to my account, however, received on the very day change effective with no grace ****** allowance to opt out of AAA Energy Service without a $100 cancellation fee imposed. Gas procurement charges by AAA Energy Service far exceeds the same service provided by PG&E. On a limited SS income and a financial hardship to meet costs that have more than doubled. It seems there are other customers who feel AAA Energy Services is a scam offering lower gas provider costs with questionable representation. Unable to resolve through PG&E as AAA Energy Service is a third party supplier. A phone contact with AAA Energy Service but with no claim of responsibility stating they do not provide service ouside of their address? Unable to connect with AAA Energy Service phone connected to PG&E account on several attempts. All in all, a customer run-a-round agredious business malpractice and claims to procure customers. Third party affiliations should be thoroughly vetted by businesses to protect customers.

Have contacted PG&E regarding acknowledgement and cancellation of AAA Energy Services, effective March 13th billing cycle and reverting back to PG&E as procurement of gas service. Charges by AAA Energy Services are much higher to include a cancellation fee of $100 to resolve this issue are a financial hardship, the fact no letter from AAA Energy Services to confirm acceptance of their service was received other than a notification by PG&E, no acceptance by AAA Energy Service of this credited to the customer as actionable to waive cancellation fee. This note is receipt of cancellation of AAA Energy Service

Received an informational call from AAA Energy Services suggesting that they could lower our gas bill at our 2 properties (**************************************************************************************************************************). Marketing person by the name of *********************, claiming to be with PG&E, fraudulently enrolled me with AAA Natural Gas during a phone call on or around January 19 2024. He claimed PG&E was offering seniors (I'm 81 years of age) a discount of approximately 38% off my bill along with a $50 check .He already had all my information from PG&E bills and knew the last four numbers of my SS#, my date of birth and other properties I own.I said I was not aware of this program and he said it was new and the program applied to both my properties he could see on my bill. He brought a third person on the line and had me answer three questions: Did I live at *************, was I current in my payments to PG&E, and would I confirm that no governmental agency pays any part of my utility bill. I confirmed that. There was no mention of any other supplier of natural gas. After the phone call of around January 19 2024, I contacted PG&E to see if there was indeed a new discount for seniors and was told there was not. I looked online and saw that there are scammers pretending to be with PG&E but since I did not have the number for the person who called me, I couldn't call to verify that this was not a scam.Yesterday, February 9, 2024, I received an enrollment form from AAA Natural Gas thanking me for enrolling with them. It says I have 3 days from date of the recorded voice date to opt out. Otherwise the service commences on my next meter read which is around February 16 2024 and continues on on a month to month basis and may only be canceled with 60 days notice.I never agreed to switching my gas or electric supplier during that phone call on or around Jan 19 2024 and do not want to wait 60 days for their service to end. I would like the enrollment cancelled effective immediately. There is a phone number on the *** enrollment form. I called but have not reached a person yet, but I sent a letter (with certificate of mailing) today.

The customer did agree to all the terms of switching to AAA Natural gas on 1/15/2024 with an outside sales agent for AAA. The customer was processed for a cancellation however it does take up to ****************************************** the middle of a billing cycle. All charges are valid for the time period.

      Customer response

I am rejecting part of this response and accepting some of it.:

I accept that AAA Natural Gas has cancelled the enrollment for them to become my gas supplier; I'd like to thank them for taking care of that -- but when I spoke with ***** on February 12, 2024  (two days after I received the enrollment form), she said she was putting through the cancellation right away and that it would take 30 to 60 days to go through depending on when the meter was next read and when PG&E processed the cancellation. I spoke with Third Party Relations at PG&E and I understand  there was an effective account change date of February 13, 2024.   -- so ... I reject the 90 day cancellation time frame.  And I also reject the comment that I agreed to the switch.  At no point when I spoke with ********************* did he mention anything about a change in supplier.  He told me he was with PG&E and they were reaching out to seniors (I'm 81 years of age)  he said I would get a 38% discount in my bill and also said I would receive a $50 check.  There was no mention of my switching gas supplier.

I would like confirmation from AAA Natural Gas that the cancellation was  indeed processed on February 12, 2024 and that it will be effective within the 30 to 60 days Maria  promised over the phone.  I also want to be sure there is no cancellation fee.  The confirmation number ***** gave me on February 12, 2024 was 0505686856.

They sent me an mp3 audio file of an Indian man claiming to be me. I am floored. Anyone can add a service to my PG&E bill without any verifiable information? This is unacceptable. AAA said they would cancel the service in 60 days. In the meantime, I'm being charged $297 per month. This is FRAUD. Canceling my servcie in 60 days does nothing for the current charges I am being billed.Litterley the voice in the mp3, has a very heavy indian accent. ITS NOT ME. I did not give my concent.

In the audio, you can hear an AAA NG rep saying, "Please confirm you are B. pleasant," and an INDIAN man confirmed with a heavy accent says, "Yes. " This is outright fraud. AAA NG said they would cancel my account after three months. So, in the meantime, I am being billed an additional$300 dollars. PG&E had the nerve to tell me I had no option but to pay it. PG&E is probably a part of this scam, and They know full well what is going on. I still have the mp3 file from *************************, the customer service rep of **********************.

The first part of the telephone verification is the outside sales agent providing the information for the customer to sign up and then second half of the call is the customer agreeing to the terms. The customer was charged the correct amount and would have been charged more by PGE had he bought his gas directly from them. The customers account has been submitted for a cancellation and will go back to the utility on 3/18/2024.

Thank you for this.  However, in the 3rd party verification which is a (mp3) file that WAS SENT to me FROM AAA ,  that is supposed to confirm that I signed up, the ***** IS NOT MINE.  ITS AN INDIAN MAN PRETENDING TO BE ME.  I do not mean to yell.  I'm just trying to put emphasis on the fact that their Proof IS FRAUDUELNT.  ITS NOT ME GIVING CONSENT.  The voice in the mp3 file does not belong to me.  Shall i send the file to you?

I would not be this adamant if this was legit my fault.  I can not let this company get away with this.  This is fraud.  This is ridiculous.  Again, my frustration is not towards BBB.
