In February of 2020 a company by the name of AAA gas services came to my house and spoke to me regarding a government initiative on saving on natural gas prices. The female Rep discussed that they were a company that was helping people with their natural gas prices by subsidizing gas prices to $1 a day unlimited gas use. At that time I did not know that this was a scam because what they don't tell you is that you still have to pay ****. They made me call **** and even had a script printed out for me to say to **** to now make them my primary gas provider. This is a complete scam and I want to cancel this account because this isn't anywhere near what they promised and this is very fraudulent. I tried calling in and the phone number makes you run in circles and you get nowhere. I've paid for their services for over a year now and now I want some solutions to this sham company that everyone is saying is clearly a scam. I want to be reached out by a manager or a supervisor regarding cancellation of this wrongful scam program they had me join for the last year and a half.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/15) */ The customer was given all details of his account via telephone verification, mailed welcome packet and a welcome call. Attached is the telephone verification for this customer. The customer did save $21.80 last month over what he would have paid to ***. The customer did not make a payment on the account from April 2020 till October of 2021 which is why his bill is so high and *** is trying to collect. AAA did provide the service promised to the customer. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Still waiting for my account to be fully closed before I considered this a settled matter. The individual that came to my house saying this was a new government program to make your whole gas utility only $1 a month. She never informed me about the separate **** bill that I will be paying along with theirs. It did feel odd that the representative had a whole drafted speech and specific words and dialogue for me to tell ****. I will wait for my account to be cleared of their name before accepting this response. Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/01/04) */ The customer was informed that the account does take up to 60 days to cancel completely per ***s rules. Below is the link to ***s website where it states they will not close an account in the middle of a billing cycle. I have also attached the email that was sent to the customer. ********************************************************************************************************************************************** Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2022/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have heard from the company and yes they have informed me that it takes 60 days. I will wait until it is completely off of my next bill then I will accept the solution that this company has proposed. Will not accept until it is removed just so no other complaints have to be filed. Other neighbors are waiting to hear of the outcome as well due to them being in the same position as me.

AAA Natural Gas Case ID: ********** **** account number:************* A ************** arrived at my door informing me of AAA natural gas and led me to believe its a cost saving gas service at .99c or $29.99 and I would be charged the lesser rate of .99c if the gas did not exceed a certain amount, then if so then a flat rate of $29.99 and they would be replacing my local gas service ****. I signed up for the service on July 26, 2021 by being coerced by answering yes to a series of questions by phone. It was made to seem that they would be my gas supplier at the .99c rate opposed to the $1.42 rate **** was charging me. I received my **** September bill dated 9/8/21 which had my first charge with AAA gas. Not only I was charged from my local gas service **** which was only $10.89, AAA natural gas notated as a 3rd party company charged me an additional $34.39 for their procurement charges which was not explained or expressed by ******* or explained in their terms and conditions I received. September 10th, I called AAA gas spoke to ***** to cancel the service I was advised 30-60 days the service would be cancelled and received confirmation number **********. I received my October bill dated 10/7/21 and **** charged $9.54, AAA gas charged $31.16. I followed up with AAA gas on Oct 27th spoke to ***** to confirm when my service would be cancelled and I was given the date of November 4th. However, I received my November bill dated 11/5/21 and AAA gas charge is still reflecting a procurement charge of $31.16. AAA gas is an unethical company. It should not take 3 billing cycles to cancel a service that was given under false pretenses. They have scammed, has lied, and gives false information in which states they save its customers money. My bill has tripled due to them supplying my gas. Please assist with ensuring my service is cancelled due to being given the November 4th cancellation date and requesting a refund of $31.16 for my last bill. Thanks!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/09) */ Attached is the telephone verification that the customer agreed to which states all the terms. The customer was given a welcome call to make sure she understood what she signed up for and could cancel at that time before the account was enrolled. The customer was sent a welcome packet with all the information. The account did end on 11/4/2021 and if the customer will look at her meter read dates she will see that her bill is through 11/4/2021. This is the final bill with AAA charges on it. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/11/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I was coerced as you can hear on the call. I didnt sign any agreement. ******* gave false information & led me to believe your company saves its customers money by charging .99c for gas opposed to the $1.42 my local gas company charges when we reviewed my bill together. My billed tripled due to AAA gas not disclosing it charges a procurement service in addition to your local gas company charges and procurement charge. My bill with my local gas company ranges from $9 at the least to most of $25, with the AAA gas charge its an ADDITIONAL $34 or $31 which did not save me a dime & charges are EXTRA! How is that saving me money? Where does the savings apply if its an additional charge? Why would you think I would want to pay an extra $30 for you to supply my gas when my bill is only $9 for my local gas company to supply my gas? Because AAA gas company lied & is unethical. Based off what was stated to me thinking they would take over be my main source of gas & I would only be charged .99c for it. When I called to cancel in September, I was advised 30-60 days the service would be cancelled, received my Oct bill and AAA gas is still charging me. Called to follow up to & received a cancellation date of Nov 4th yet still received a charge on my November bill. It's my fault for believing these false claims & not doing my research & i'll take the hit for one of the charges, however it should not take 3 billing cycles to cancel a service especially when given under false pretenses. AAA gas are thieves & should not be allowed to continue to bill over 30 days when a customer calls to cancel. 3 charges over $30 when I called to cancel after the first bill. This company knows what they're doing in taking advantage of people in believing that this is a great saving opportunity in taking people hard earned money during a time of crises. I provided a 60 day notice and it was not cancelled on the next billing cycle like the recording states, therefore I would like a refund for 31.16. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/11/16) */ AAA will fire this agent immediately and have documented your claims for the termination of the agent. As for the cancellation process the account did end within 60 days. The customer called 9/10/2021 and 60 days is 11/10/2021, the account ended 11/4/2021. Per **** website which you can search for yourself, AAA does not set your end date. Per their website "Your return date to ****** bundled service will be determined based on the meter read cycle. If a CTA submits a disconnect enrollment with **** and **** accepts the disconnect request 15 days before the next meter read date then your service will begin with **** on the next meter read date. If the disconnect request is submitted less than 15 days of the next meter read date, then your service with **** will begin on the next month's meter read date." The TPV does disclose all the information and the customer did agree to it. The information the customer agreed with never mentioned a savings, however this program does save some customers money. AAA has followed all protocol and did cancel the customers account per the agreement and **** terms. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2021/11/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) AAA is not offering a solution. AAA did NOT save me money and your representative came to my home reviewed my bill and LIED by saying that the 1.49 usage charge that **** bills will change to .99c and my bill will be less and if my bill exceeded over $30 then I would be charged a flat rate if 29.99. In addition your terms & conditions does not specify AAA would charge a PROCUREMENT charge of 29.99 in addition to what **** charges. I cancelled in September yet my November bill still has AAA procurement charge. If I cancelled in September and your statement says 15days on the next meter read my charges will stop so why in November am I still being charged?? I attached my recent bill. Once again I'm politely requesting that charge of 31.16 to be removed or a civil suit will be filed. AAA are thieves that continues to charge people based off of false information given. The representative sits there talks to you as they call the company put themselves on mute tell you to say yes based off the Promise of savings. AAA knows that they're not saving most people money because look at the comments and complaints from customers. If you're going to have representatives go around trying to have people signup why lie about the charges and why aren't they correctly explaining how it works?? AAA is manipulating customers and the system and then want to use your false claims as an excuse. AAA charged 3 billings cycles of a procurement charge after I cancelled one bill of 34 & 2 bills 31.16 well over 15 days of the next meter read. Refund/remove the 31.16 November charge. Thanks! Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2021/11/30) */ AAA has cancelled the customers account and provided all information for the account. The customer was provided all information in regards to the enrollment. No refund will be given.

A woman came to my door claiming to be from **** saying that everyone in my area was approved for a savings plan on the energy service and that page two of my bill would have explained this. I didn't have a bill and didn't remember my log in information to show her, but somehow I got added to their service as a third party provider and am being charged more now than I was with just ***. I never agreed to change my service, nor was I told what they were actually at my door for. I never received a phone call or mail or anything else explaining the change. I just want to drop their service and not have a third party provider. I don't even want money back.

On 5/26/2021 the customer was given a welcome call and she stated she understood the program. A welcome packet was mailed to the customer on 5/26/2021 as well. *** mailed a letter to the customer as well. The customer called and left a voicemail which our customer service returned the call. AAA did process the customers account for a drop and it will return to ***s service within 60 days.

AAA Energy Services came to my home when I was not there and told my cousin who is not on the lease that they were signing everyone up in the apartment complex for lower costing gas usage. She accepted the ladies card and said ok. Next thing I know my **** bills jumped an additional 30.00 each month! I have not been able to figure out why until now. I have tried lowering usage, checking appliances for leaks, lowering water temps, etc. then I looked at our household usage and it is only 14.00 out of a 44.00 bill. I downloaded the actual bill and saw the culprit. I want this company to cancel a membership I didn't authorize and stop charging me now! This should be illegal.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/08) */ Attached is the telephone verification that was done to enroll the account which details out all the pricing. A welcome call was made and a voicemail was left in December of 2020 about the enrollment as well as a welcome packet was mailed to the home regarding all the details of the enrollment. The account started in January of 2021 and the customer has never reached out to AAA. We will process the customers request to drop and it will take up to 60 days to cancel as *** will not stop the account in the middle of a billing cycle. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/11/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/01/20) */ AAA stated that they terminated my service and **** would take 60 days to remove them, as of my last bill for Dec-Jan services I am still seeing them on there. Can someone please force them to stop charging me? Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/01/24) */ AAA does not set the end date but we typically see it takes 60 days as this is provided by *** and we assumed it would be done by January but *** did assign the end date of 2/14/2022. Also *** does bill the customer behind and she has only been billed through 12/15/2021 which is only about 30 days since the date of her cancellation request. The last two months we have saved the customer money over what she would have paid to *** for the gas.

date October 4th 2021 it was about 6pm this lady claiming to be ******* (it might have been spelled differently) ****** says she's a third party gas provider working through **** to get me a better discount by locking in my low rates with ****.i asked her if i will still be with **** and she said yes.when she called some random number everytime the person on the phone talked she muted it and talked over him and then unmuted the phone so i can say yes she didn't have a business card when i asked for one and didn't even write her name down when i asked her just said the account number has all that information.i wish to cancel whatever service she lied to me about.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/06) */ The customer did receive a welcome call and he stated he would like to cancel. The account was cancelled at that time and never enrolled with the service. As for the agent not having a business card it is because they are a third party sales company and do not work directly for AAA. The program the agent offered could save the customer money but we do not guarantee this. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/10/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) you didn't call me i called you but you canceled right away thank you.

A spokesman for AAA came to my home in the evening and claimed to work for **** gas company. They told me they were just updating me on my gas pricing because of a recent election in the state of CA. I thought I was only being informed of new info by a **** representative. The next day AAA Gas called me and confirmed they'd spoken with me last night. I got a little worried and did some online research to find this is a common sales technique to get me to sign up with AAA gas as a third party gas provider for **** and typically ends up raising my monthly gas utility bill. The representative did not identify themselves as an employee for AAA, rather one for ****. They also never informed me I was signing up for something new, they phrased the entire conversation as if I were just being informed about changes already happening to my gas bill. This is predatory and fraudulent and is a common complaint against AAA Energy Services across the web.

      Business response

      11/02/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/16) */ The agents wear a badge that states they are with AAA. The agents leave a document behind with all of AAA information as well as our phone number. The day after the sale is done AAA calls the customer to confirm the enrollment as well as make sure they understand what they are signing up for. The customer did not answer so we left a voicemail with our information in it. The customer has 3 days to cancel before they are enrolled. The customers account did end with us on 8/1/2021. I have attached the telephone verification the customer did to enroll for the account.
