PNW Marble was hired at the beginning of February to perform 4 services: 1) install two quartz countertops, 2) install one quartz bar, 3) install quartz accents on our wooden reception desk. and 4) provide 6 quartz "door plates" we can hang on the doors to display room numbers. The total work on our contract started in February of 2022 was $9,333 for labor and materials, compared to $10,229 that was originally quoted on 12/27/21.On 2/10/22, we paid a deposit for 50% of the work to be delivered, which was $4,666.50 (based on the $9,333 2/10/22 quote). The two countertops were installed without issue ($2,705 worth of work). The beauty bar was installed much later and after many issues of being no-showed for appts and incorrect measurements. Eventually though, after a lot of stress, the beauty bar was installed, and I have no current issues with this part of the work ($1,363).The door plates were never installed. He dropped off very thick chunks of quartz that are not hangable in any way. He has never attempted install for door tiles. As for the reception desk that was quoted at $4,513, this was installed incorrectly, in addition to him grossly overcharging me. There is a "waterfall" along the right side of the desk that is longer than the desk itself. Therefore, we are unable to move it without breaking the quartz. This was not in the plans, and I instructed the installation tech to make the waterfall flush with the top of the toe-kick to avoid this issue. ***** was notified of these issues on the day of install. He said he would make this right. Once he promised to correct this issue and supply the door tiles, I paid him another $7,203.50, so a total of $11,870. However, after he cashed my check, he stopped responding to calls/texts. To date, the only work that has been completed was $4,068 in labor/quartz. Therefore, I am asking for a $7,802 billing adjustment for the desk and door tiles. We will need to hire another company to finish/mitigate their work.
