Do NOT use this business!!! Here's the deal, I'm all for paying a fair price for a good job. However, I am not all for paying for an electrician that takes his sweet time. I got a previous quote from another company that stated it would take approximately two hours @ a slightly higher rate, but I chose to go with City and Suburban Electric due to a slightly lower rate and high ratings. Boy, was I wrong. The electrician who was supposed to show up at 8:00 am (that's what I wrote down when I made the appointment) did not show up until 8:24 am. Stated electrician said that the clock starts when he leaves the shop, which he claims took 12 minutes (by the way, it only takes 3 minutes to drive from my home, per a stopwatch). So, there's 9 minutes added, that was not necessary and when you are paying $55 per half hour, it can add up quickly. Prior to install, I informed the company that I wanted four lights installed in the kitchen. The electrician only had one mounting box, so then he had to drive back to the shop, which was about another 20 minutes or so, cha-ching! Honestly, from what my relative saw, this could have been done in 3 hours, which closely aligns with what the other company quoted. The electrician stated that my relative was being particular about the lights, (At $55 per hour, the client has the right to be particular) which in no way slowed him down, it actually helped to speed the process. Two of the mounting caps are not flush with the ceiling, which by the way, the electrician knew. I will have to fix on my own. I called the company to express my frustration over the cost of $640 (5 1/2 hours), and they explained it away. This is clearly their MO. I totally feel like I was milked and it makes me sick! I do NOT like being price gouged.
