Portland General Electric Company Response
08/12/2024
Thank you for contacting Portland General Electric (PGE) via the Better Business Bureau. I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns relating to PGE's Income Qualified Bill ******** (IQBD) and the options we provide to our customers to pay their bill. When calculating how much a customer will receive for a bill discount PGE uses a similar guideline set by the State if Oregon and used by *************************** The maximum qualifying income (MQI) depends on household size and is defined by 60% of the State Median Income (SMI). The only time a balance is referred to a ***************** is when an account has been stopped and the closing balance goes unpaid. We do not report past due amounts to any Credit Bureaus while our customers have an active account. We offer payment options on qualifying accounts when they are needed. We would also be more than happy to provide contact information for outside agencies who could potentially help pay on your PGE account if you would be interested.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns. You can reach us at ************ from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Were here to help.
Sincerely,
******
