    My family booked a reservation last Thanksgiving. I was contacted a day prior to the booking and the representative stated that the booking was no longer available because of "robberies" in the area. Then another representative told me it was because of a plumbing issue. I was offered alternatives (still near the supposed robberies lol) with less rooms and no ocean view. Needless to say this was infuriating and quite obvious that the owners decided to use the property. Not only did I have to fight to get refunded but they said I would need to pay the 30% cancelation fee. Obviously I didn't cancel and so I shouldn't have to pay for their incompetence. I was not offered any compensation for the trouble or any future credit. The really crappy part is I had family that had flown in and we had no where for them to sleep... I will never again consider this company and will continue going out of my way to warn others unless meredith decides to make this right.

    We rented a large home with an advertised amenity of a hot tub. We also paid a hot tub fee as part of the rental costs. The day before our rental started, they emailed to say the hot tub would not be available because it was not functional. I asked them for alternate accommodations or an estimate of when the hot tub would be working since it was a primary reason that we chose that property. They ignored our emails and phone calls about that subject. We continued to ask for update and asked for a discount since the amenity was not available. They refused to provide any discount or help us in any way with the issue. They finally sent an email and said they "would refund the hot tub fee for the inconvenience". I repeatedly requested some sort of accommodation or discount since the advertised amenity was not available, but they never provided anything in response.

    Ridiculous! As other renters have said, they charge 30% even if you cancel shortly after booking. I highly recommend using another platform to book your vacation rentals.

    Im extremely disappointed with the customer service from **********************. I booked one of their properties for a special birthday getaway, only to be informed AFTER the cancellation policy had passed that the oven wouldnt be working. Since our trip included baking a birthday cake and cooking a special dinner, this was a huge issue. Instead of offering a fair resolution, they refused to refund my deposit and suggested I rearrange my vacation plans to work around their broken ovenusing hot pads and a toaster oven instead. This is unacceptable customer service, and I want others to be aware before booking with this company! We spent over $1,000 for 2 nights with every intention of cooking all of our meals.

    My husband and I are owners. Not happy with the care of our home. We want our guests to have a clean house and no worries. It is not a hard task.Meredith Lodging has lots of turnover and do not respond timely to questions and concerns as a homeowner that lives 100 miles away from our dream rental. Its often been a source of worry and frustration. Thats not what we pay for., I would not recommend this company.

    Do not use Meredith Lodging directly.I usually rent through ****** but the last 2 years have rented through Meredith Lodging thinking I was doing them a solid. We had a reservation for August and we needed to cancel (giving them 8 months of notice). They charged a 30% fee for canceling! I will never use them again especially when I know for a fact they will rent the house out for the time we had it. All of their properties are on ******. I recommend going through ****** where you can cancel without a penalty. Do not go through them!!!

    Bad faith rental company. First experience, we had a neighbor stalking my child and I through the neighborhood and Meredith Lodging made no attempt make things Right. Rentals are always dirty, and have broken appliances, broken floor Tiles. Most recently we booked and cancelled same day, and we cancelled due to a national weather advisory, and the host argued with us and refused to give us a full refund. WORST SERVICE EVER!

    Extremely dishonest and immoral short term rental company. I booked a weeklong stay at one of their ************ properties and was upfront about the number of guests. I have always been transparent with ****** hosts and have a very high guest rating on the platform.The number of guests allowed in the property was clearly documented on the subsequent ****** reservation, and their own property description in fact states two people were allowed per bedroom plus two children (for a total of six people). A day later, they claim that I had gone over the occupancy limit, and then attempted to rudely argue semantics with me despite their own property description running contrary to their false claims. Basically they acknowledged that it was wording error on their part but then refused to cancel the reservation on their end because they knew they would be subject to ****** penalties.****** clearly also states that hosts are not allowed to discriminate based on the number of infants. Their motivation I suppose was to try to extort me for more money, as they then conveniently "recommended" that I book one of their other properties for more than double the price. After refusing their outrageous alternative, they still refused to cancel the reservation, and I have since reported them to ****** support for an egregious breach of contract.

    They do not care about the guests or their reputation. We paid $4,000 for 3 nights. The ** was not working for half the house and it was 110 degrees in ************. Guests had to sleep in the living room where the ** work and some drove home in the middle of the night to escape the heat. Previous guests had mentioned the ** problems so it was a known issue. I run vacation rentals myself. I would have refunded at least $1k immediately since half the house/bedrooms was unusable without the **. They offered a $100 CREDIT FOR FUTURE STAYS.Disgusting behavior.Also, you have to drive to their offices to pick up the keys and then drop them back off after your stay. Very strange set up.

    Meredith Lodging KNOWS lodging and then some. Our first time to Manzanita and our first time using Meredith Lodging. Two wins in a row! The house was a Home, absolutely spotless and nicely decorated. We stepped inside feeling like we were home. The house is one block of ************* and a nice 5-minute stroll to the beach. The location was perfect for our weekend getaway. Communication was seamless and timely; concise, focused and helpful.
