County Hauling has owed me a refund since the first week of October 2024. I have called over 10 times and feel like I am just getting the runaround. County Hauling told me that ******************* approved the refund in November but still no check. I called County Hauling again on 12/2/24 and was told I should see my check in 6-8 weeks but still no check. I called County Hauling again 1/28/25 and asked to speak to a supervisor, ******, who was going to call me back. Never heard from supervisor. I called County Hauling again on 2/5/25 was told the check was in the batch to print the following week but still have not received the check. I called County Hauling again 2/28/25 and talked to *****. When I asked her for the number for the department that cuts the checks or if she could contact the department that cuts the checks to get a concrete answer, I was told she didnt have that information. How is that even possible! She then hung up on me. So its been 5 months and I still have not received my refund.Business Response

The refund was mailed to Ms. *** on 3/19/25.When we got the initial call; we had to reach out to the township to make sure we had the approval to put a dumpster at a residential service area. Because of contract liabilities, this step had to be completed. When we got the approval, the refund process was initiated. Our customer service department completed did their due diligence. After everything was submitted, its then out of our customers service departments hands. They can only see noted updates. They do not have a telephone number for anyone in accounting. We apologize that it took longer than Ms. *** expected but because of steps and approvals needed, our customer service department did everything they could.

I have lived at my current residence in ***** since the summer of 2023. I have never received an invoice from County Hauling to pay for trash / recycling pickup. Last week, I received a bill in the mail for $549.64 which includes a lot of late fees. After calling the business and explaining that I never received an invoice and that I'm willing to pay what I owe, minus late fees, they said I have to pay the total amount, including late fees. After this disappointing news, I went to leave a scathing review on ****** and found that they are rated a 1.3 already. This has to be the lowest rated business I've ever seen, but it also tells you that I'm not the only consumer experiencing issues with this business. They are the trash company of choice for ***** Twp and we have no choice to use them. They are taking advantage of their customers.Business Response

Mr. *******,
I cannot explain why you would have never received an invoice prior to the most recent. But I assure you they were mailed out to the same mailing address. I do not see that any of them was returned back to us from the postal service. I have attached a copy of each invoice for your review.
The total amount of the late fees assessed was $23.85 which is detailed line on each invoice. Out of courtesy, I did waive all the late fees. The balance due is $525.79.
In the future if you do not receive and invoice, please call us.
For your convenience we do offer payments over the phone. We also offer payment plans.

10/31/24 A garbage collector broke another garbage can (3rd one this year). I have video footage. Supervisor behind the garbage truck was in pick up truck, got out, put it on took a picture then threw on ground. Took a picture of my mailbox. I called to complain they gave the guy who took pictures my phone number and address and he screamed and yelled at me. I feel very threatened by him yelling at me and he knows my address. When I called I talked to ***** I asked to speak to the guy (***) supervisor. She refused. They have broken my garbage cans (3), the last one is shown when the garbage person threw my entire can in the back of the garbage truck, dropped it on the ground. It was the most unprofessional experience and they will not give me the name of the supervisor. I am not sending the video to anyone except someone that is going to work with me in a solution. ***** stated *** wont do anything because he wont put his job in jeopardy this does not give me peace of mind. My video is too long to attach. Im willing to send it to you asap.Business Response

****** and his supervisor went to the township the next morning and spoke with the township supervisor. We explained to him that the garbage can was old and very brittle, when the loader grabbed it to dump the handle snapped. ****** was actually doing an inspection on the crew when it happened and went to reach out to the customer to explain what took place. ********* was very upset that ****** reached out to her 'by her request' and stated that she felt threatened he got her phone number. The township supervisor stated we handled everything properly and let the decision up to us on purchasing a new can but was not required. To stay in good standard, we purchased a new $80 can and personally delivered it to her residence.Customer Answer

[I have the original garbage can. It is not brittle, it is broken because of them. I did not ask for him to call me. The whole thing is on video. The video depicts unprofessional behavior. I have sent the video to the bbb for review. He spoke to me in a threatening manner, unprofessional manner, and I have not received a new garbage can. I do feel he will retaliate.

In January 2024 I contacted County Hauling to determine how much to pay for service at my residence for the the entire year, with senior citizen and early payment discounts. The individual I spoke with gave me a quote of, $297.29. My check # **** in the amount of $297.29 was mailed to County Hauling on January 16, 2024.On October 8, 2028 I receive a bill in the amount of $6.08. On contacting the company they state the customer service representative I spoke to gave me an incorrect figure. I want County Hauling to stand by the quote I received from their customer service representative and cancel this bill.Business Response
Date: 10/09/2024
Mr. Aaron,
The customer service representative did quote you the correct amount. There is an annual discount for customers in your municipality who pay in advance for the year. The correct amount was paid. The discount was applied on 10/1/2024. Your account shows a $0.00 balance. I do apologize that the invoice went out prior to the discount being posted.
In the future we have a team member's willing to resolve issues or answer questions by reaching out to us at (724) 929-7694. Our hours are Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or you can send an email to: [email protected].

In 2021, we paid our bill as usual. We did not get credit for the payment of $55.50, despite having a credit card statement showing payment was made. This information was presented to the company. Now here in 2024, they have still not given us credit for that payment. Numerous calls to customer service over the past 3+ years has resulted in uncooperative behavior from the **************** personnel. In some cases, calls were not returned. Written communication was not responded to. The amount is still showing on our invoices. It leads me to the question of possible criminal behavior on the part of County Hauling. How many customers have they "stolen" payments from? Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands? I believe there should be a criminal investigation made into their business practices. The fraud could amount to a considerable amount of money. Could it be embezzlement? An audit should be completed. We do not have a choice who we do business with, as ****************** has contracted for the service. I am not sure how this company is still in business. If something is not done, our only recourse may be to get one of our elected officials involved to launch an investigation. Please advise as to what can be done about this issue besides giving them an "F" rating?Regards, *** *****Customer Answer

Our garbage goes every Thursday morning. We had a full garbage can and 2 bags next to the can. They only took the 2 bags outside the can and never emptied the can. I called Friday to report missed garbage and Monday again. I have not recieved a resolution. I pay in full for service so I expect all garbage to be picked up that is bagged. Anyone I've talked to says they will send a truck out with in 48 hours. It's now Tuesday and still nothing. I will be expecting my bill to be cut in half since I'm only receiving half a service.Business Response

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]We most definitely did NOT HAVE 10 TO 15 bags, that was across the street from us. And I even spoke to a representative and said you guys took about 10 bags from my neighbor yet not 4 bags of ours. Try again. I have nest cams. Our garbage was picked up after this complaint. But don't lie.

County Hauling owes me a refund for $15.82 since January 18, 2024. I have sent emails and called monthly. I most recently have called them on 5/31, 6/5, 6/13, 6/17 (************). All 4 times, I was told a Supervisor would call me and NO ONE HAS! Every time I call, I get the same run-around, no ability to speak to a Supervisor or anyone in Accounting. This is ridiculous! I’m dealing with an Estate account and require this refund to close the Estate.Business Response

Paid company $297 on 1-30-24 for garbage service for the entire year. On March 1st our Township changed companies. County Hauling now owes me a refund of $247.50. I have been calling them since March 11,2024 about my refund. I have called them at least 7 times about my refund and every time I am told something different including twice that it has been mailed. I have also emailed them and got a response that it was being sent to their controller for processing. I would appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you.Initial Complaint

This year our trash collection bill DOUBLED from $43 per quarter to $86 per quarter, which wouldn’t be such a big deal except for the fact that half the time they just don’t take our trash or they only take some of it. Never had this problem with Waste Management. They also drive their heavy trucks on roads where there is no trash to be picked up, damaging our roads unnecessarily, when they should only be in the alleys.Business Response

If you provide your service addresses, we can look into any service issues you may be having. As for the price increase, we place a bid and it is up to the township to award so any issues with the decision would need to be addressed with them.
