I financed my mother a 2014 Nissan Rouge less than 2 months ago for $14,000. I put $7000 cash down .The owner is a mutual friend so thought it was safe. Financed it on October 26 2023.It was never inspected, spare tire was missing, passenger window did not work, automatic door locks constantly went off, tail light was out & the check engine light came on for something having to do with the CVT transmission which the 3 month warranty covers & owner said no problem they would fix it all. He told us that he gave us a 2 year extended warranty on the vehicle never telling me when I could pick up the warranty nor answering the phone to schedule when I could come for the warranty. When contacted, they said they would fix it all & had me drop the car off at their mechanic. Nothing was fixed not even inspected. Few days later after contacting the owner, I put it into the mechanic shop again for inspection. Mechanic turned off the check engine light so that he could inspect it (which illegal) & didn't actually fix anything. The mechanic told me "We do not work on transmissions so I will contact owner & set us up with a transmission shop. 2 weeks went by no word & check engine light came on again & the car broke down. They ignored several phone calls. When they finally answered the phone & were told on Friday December 15th, they told us that they would send a tow truck to pick it up. When I asked if I could have a loner seeing as I was now left without a vehicle, he told me he doesn't do loaners. I told him this was unacceptable. The car was $14,000 & I put down $7000 cash and have only had the car for less than 2 months. I explained to the owner that if the vehicle was not fixed & I had to bring it somewhere else. I would have to sue them for the difference cost. The owner hearing this got mad & essentially broke our contract & canceled the tow truck telling me to "Have fun getting your vehicle fixed & suing then. I told the owner I will do what I have to do I guess then.
