I requested to buy a transmission for my 2006 **** **** with transmission number ***** ( ******************************* in Lemoyne gave me the Transmission number) . I went to Mecca Auto Sale and met James, who I asked if they have the transmission ***** ( I wrote it down for him) he said they have it then I paid nine hundred dollars ($900). After giving me the said transmission, I took it to ************* who told me it is not the same transmission that Mecca gave me ***** instead of *****.I requested my refund of $900 but Mecca won't refund me after I delivered their transmission (*****) to them. They have been giving me crazy options which I don't want.Business response

To whom it may concern:
This is the answer to the complaint #********. The Customer’s statement is incorrect. The Customer came to me, owner of Mecca Auto Sales LLC, as a regular customer. He has repeatedly come to my car lot to take parts off a 2006 **** **** I have in my part’s fenced area. This day he requested the transmission because he said his van needed a new transmission. He had written the transmission number he needed on a piece of paper. He and my mechanic confirmed that the number he had written did indeed match the number on our van’s transmission. I explained to him I was going to charge him $900.00 nonrefundable fee AS IS with no warranty. I was going to have my mechanic pull the transmission in the cold and once we pulled it there would be no refund given. The transmission was going to be sold to him AS IS with no warranty. He agreed to the terms. I explained the fee would be non-refundable several times. He agreed and paid. My mechanic pulled the transmission in the cold and the customer took the transmission. About 4 or 5 days later he called to complain. He said his mechanic could not fit the transmission in his van and that LB Smith then explained to him that there are 2 different types of transmissions for his type of van. The customer is at fault. He had not properly researched the transmission requirements of his van and had indeed made the error in the transmission numbers. He was told again that the money was not refundable, and the transmission was his now. I do not know what damage he caused to the transmission since it was in his possession. I paid my mechanic $300 for the labor. The customer made the error. A junkyard would not reimburse if the customer pulled the wrong part. I am not refunding the money.Customer response
