***** ******** purchased a 2011 Nissan Juke on 02/27/2024. He traded in a 1989 Cadillac. Mr. ******** called a couple days later and said when he took the vehicle for a oil change they told him it had a oil leak he brought the vehicle back to our dealership and we looked underneath and did not see any oil leaking.

Called again was very angry and disrespectful to receptionist and myself. He ended the phone call by saying he was going to sue me.

Called again a couple days later apologizing for his attitude and begged me to look at it again. We put the vehicle up on the lift cleaned the bottom of the engine then left the engine running on the lift to look for any fresh leaks. Did not find any fresh leaks. We always recommend to any one who purchases a vehicle to get a oil change as we do not change the oil on dealership cars.

Vehicle was sold as is with 3 month 3000 mile powertrain warranty. And if we do not look over the vehicle we post that on the car and have the customer sign a slip stating they understand we did not look over the vehicle and the vehicle is sold as is.

I have tried to help but never saw any leaks under the vehicle.

I can not refund money on a vehicle sold as is.

Attached is copies of as is forms, bill of sale, statements signed by customer vehicle was not looked over, buyers guide posted on vehicle, and warranty information.

      Thank You

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They fail to list what’s wrong with any vehicle on there lot they say that there’s nothing wrong with them but they are numerous things wrong with them do not buy from them it’s a trap soon as you buy you find out that they un plugged the battery to reset the check engine light and you possibly might be leaking fluids or oil they make sure brakes and rotors are perfect and then they sell them they do not even change the engine oil my vehicles engine oil was darker then the shade of black it self

The first issue occurred in April, and it was the backup camera. They refused to fix the camera when I brought it back to be fixed when there was a clunking noise going on. The second issue occurred in May and that is when i heard the noise. I didn't bring it to their attention due to it being past the 30 days and i would be responsible for the part. So, I finally was able to get it looked at the end of May beginning of June and my brother noticed the emergency brake cable was loose from a clip so thinking nothing was wrong I just drove with the annoying noise until the middle of June the noise got worse. I then got it looked at again and that's when they noticed the subframe was completely rotted out and that's what was making the noise. I then called the garage and they stated they would have noticed that when they did the inspection. But I explained to them that they didn't notice the problems it had the day I purchased the vehicle, drove it home and it started making noises. That there were issues that day and they couldn't get me until the following week. and again, that day I asked them about the backup camera, and they still refused to fix it. Then in May I was hearing a little clunking noise I had my brother look at it and he noticed that the emergency brake cable clip was broke so it was banging the bottom of the vehicle. The noise started getting louder toward the end of june beginning of july. I then took it back to my brother and he started looking at more in-depth and noticed the subframe was rotted and the piece that holds my back wheel was rotted off and that's what was banging the bottom of the vehicle so then i contacted them due to them inspecting it in March they should have noticed the rot the owner stated that he couldn't tell nothing from a picture that he needed to look at it so i took it up there and he stated that was caused the damage was from me hitting a pot hole. He then refused to fix the issue and stated to take him to court and see where that gets me that he has done this for 30 years.

****** ******** purchased a 2011 Chevy Equinox on 03/16/2023 customer came back in and stated that back up camera had a lines in it, service engine light was on, four ways did not work. We brought the vehicle in and scanned vehicle to find out why service engine light was on. We replaced VVT solenoid which cleared service engine light. We changed the oil for customer and checked four ways. Button was sticking for four ways and just need to press harder. Told customer that we could not fix backup camera. Never did customer state that the vehicle had a clunking noise or we would have checked it out then. Fixed all issues free of charge. Customer had to put vehicle in reverse during the test drive and would have noticed back up camera was not working.

Customer called again in July stating noise in back end. We told her to bring it in. We put the vehicle on the lift and seen that the subframe was broken. Told customer that this could have happened if she hit a pot hole. Offered to fix the subframe for free the gentlemen that was with the customer started that it would probably need an alignment after. The owner stated that he would fix the subframe for free but the customer would be responsible for paying for the alignment. The gentlemen with the customer said that they are not paying for anything. The owner stated that there was nothing he could do if they were not willing to accept his offer of help.

The customer has had the vehicle since March and the first time that they brought the vehicle back they did not complain about a clunking noise or we would have checked it out then. We also fixed the problems except for the backup camera the first time they complained for free. Offered to help with subframe but offer was refused unless we paid for an alignment.

Customer stated in complaint that she took to her brothers garage to look over vehicle in May and the emergency brake cable clip was broke and banging on the bottom of vehicle. If subframe was damaged I think they would have seen the damage then.

We did not notice any rust or damage to subframe in March. We did notice that the rocker panels had been repaired.

I tried to help but vehicle was sold as is with a 3 month 3,000 mile powertrain warranty included. Not sure how subframe became damaged but we tried to help but offer was refused.
