On March 22, 2023, I contacted American Mint to request to be opted out of their mailing list for advertisements. I requested this due to the excessive amount of unwanted solicitations they are sending me. American Mint responded the same day. I was informed that my mailing address was removed, but it might take up to 90 days for new mailings to cease. By that estimate, the junk mail should have stopped by June 22, 2023. However, as recently as June 27, 2023, American Mint has continued to send me solicitations in the mail. I need the mailings to please stop immediately.

      July 12, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *******'s complaint. *** ******* alleges that on March 22, 2023, he contacted American Mint and requested to opt out of the mailing list for advertisements. He admits that American Mint responded back to him that same day and removed him from the mailing list. He also admits that he was advised that it would take approximately ninety days for all advertisements to completely cease.

*** ******* alleges that all advertisements should have ceased by June 22, 2023, but as recent as June 27, 2023, he received an advertisement in the mail. He enclosed an image of an envelope that purportedly contained an advertisement. It is not clear if *** ******* opened the envelope enclosed with his complaint as he does not show its contents. American Mint denies that it sent *** ******* an additional advertisement. As explained in more detail below, American Mint believes that the envelope dated June 26, 2023 that *** ******* enclosed with his complaint contains a reminder letter requesting payment for an order that *** ******* placed in April 2023, but never remitted payment for.

On April 18, 2023, American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ******* for an 1849 Liberty Head HR Archival Ed. replica coin. Enclosed is a copy of the order form which *** ******* voluntarily returned to American Mint. Although *** ******* voluntarily returned his order form, he did not include payment for the item. Therefore, American Mint processed the order, but did not ship the item. American Mint had previously sent *** ******* two reminder letters that his order for the 1849 Liberty Head HR Archival Ed. replica coin had been processed and is awaiting shipment but could not be sent until payment was remitted. The first and second reminder letters were mailed out to *** ******* on May 11, 2023 and June 2, 2023 respectively. The third reminder letter was mailed out to *** ******* on June 26, 2023. This is the same date as is shown on the image of the envelope which *** ******* received from American Mint. The envelope which *** ******* enclosed with his complaint was mailed out on June 26, 2023. American Mint does not include advertisements with reminder letters requesting payment for orders sent in without payment.

On March 22, 2023, American Mint received an e-mail from *** ******* wherein he requested to be removed from the mailing list. American Mint promptly responded to *** *******'s request that same day and removed *** ******* from the mailing list on March 22, 2023. Since American Mint's ads are preprinted, *** ******* was advised that it could take up to ninety days for all advertisements to completely cease for advertisements already printed. *** ******* enclosed copies of this e-mail correspondence with his complaint. As of approximately June 20, 2023, *** ******* should no longer receive any further advertisements.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

      Sincerely,
      In-house Legal Counsel

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

While I appreciate the business taking the time to response, the premise to their response is incorrect. I did not order anything from American Mint on or about April 18, 2023. The form they provided does not contain my signature nor any proof that I sent that to them. Therefore, I have to ask that the business refrain from making any more false or unsubstantiated claims in their responses to my inquiry. I suspect that the business might have obtained this form from returned (unopened) junk mail. All mail I receive from American Mint is promptly marked as 'Unwanted - Return to Sender' and not opened. The business ought to ensure that their employees understand not process refused mail as if it were an order.

Nonetheless, I ask that the business ensure that no more solicitations (including invoices for items I did not order) cease immediately.

      Regards,

      July 13, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *******'s rebuttal. *** *******'s rebuttal letter raises similar allegations to those raised in his initial complaint. American Mint fully addressed *** *******'s allegations in my initial response dated July 12, 2023.

*** ******* alleges that he did not place an order with American Mint on or about April 18, 2023. He further alleges that the order form that American Mint received from him does not prove that he placed an order since it is not signed. I enclosed a copy of the order form which *** ******* voluntarily returned to American Mint on April 18, 2023 with my initial response. *** ******* alleges that American Mint obtained this order form from unopened junk mail that he returned to American Mint marked as "Unwanted - Return to Sender." American Mint denies these allegations.

American Mint does not retain copies of envelopes marked "return to sender" nor does it retain copies of envelopes which customers return their order forms and/or payments in. However, American Mint would not have processed *** *******'s order had he returned an envelope marked "Unwanted - Return to Sender" which contained his order form.
As previously explained in my initial response, American Mint received *** *******'s order form on April 18, 2023. Since payment was not included with the order, American Mint processed the order, but did not ship the merchandise. This is why *** ******* received three reminder letters requesting payment for his order. Per this complaint, *** *******'s April 18, 2023 order has been cancelled and his account has been closed out. He will receive no further reminder letters requesting payment. As previously mentioned in my initial response, *** ******* was removed from the mailing list on March 22, 2023, and as of approximately June 20, 2023, he should no longer be receiving any advertisements. I trust this resolves the complaint.

      Sincerely,
      In-house Legal Counsel

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However, I must note my concern regarding the business's apparent lack of honesty in this matter. It is abundantly clear that a mistake was made by the company that caused continued unsolicited correspondence to be sent after the opt-out date, and the business has refused to take responsibility for the error. Regardless, as long as my opt-out request has been honored, then I consider this matter resolved. I reserve the right to re-open this complaint if more unsolicited mail is received.

I ordered one knife for a intro price of 39$. Got it no problem. Then weeks later they send me a 2nd knife that I didn't order and are expecting me to pay 129$. I've tried to contact them with no success. They have threatened collections if I don't pay them. I never ordered the stupid thing in the first place. You can have it back. They have non stop sent emails and letters for an item I didn't ask for. If they want me to give it back they just need to send me an address. Never do business with them, ever.

      July 11, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** ******'s complaint. *** ****** placed an online order for an introductory item in the US Coin ***** Knife Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer that was clearly stated on the website, he was sent one (1) Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ****** alleges that he ordered a knife at the introductory price. He further alleges that he was later sent an additional unordered knife and an invoice. American Mint denies these allegations.

American Mint no longer operates a continuity plan on its website. However, at the time *** ****** placed his online order, American Mint still operated a continuity plan on its website. *** ****** was not sent or billed for unordered merchandise. *** ******'s online order form, which he voluntarily completed and submitted to American Mint, clearly expressed that by ordering a product at the discounted price, he would receive authorized future issues in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. *** ****** never paid for nor returned the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife. Therefore, he continued to receive monthly invoices, acquired late fees and his account was eventually referred to collections. Although American Mint never received the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife as a return nor payment for that item, American Mint made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for that item.

The relevant facts are as follows. American Mint received an online order from *** ****** on January 27, 2022 for an American Golf Buffalo knife. We received a credit card payment of $36.90 (the knife was $29.95 plus $6.95 shipping). Although American Mint ordinarily retains copies of all order forms, it was unable to locate an order form for this particular product.
As offered to the public, an initial order in the collection entitles all orderers to receive future issues in the collection. Specifically, as was clearly stated on the website, "By ordering a product at the discounted price, you will have the privilege of receiving future issues in the collection through our FREE in-home approval service. No further action is required on your part. If you do not wish to preview future issues in the collection, please select the Individual Item Only tab above." *** ****** did not select the Individual Item Only tab.

Moreover, in its "Satisfaction Guarantee" American Mint informs each orderer that they have the right to refuse receipt of future issues. American Mint explains: "You will be billed only for the items you decide to keep. You are under no obligation! If you are not satisfied with any item that is shipped to you, you may send it back within 90 days at our cost for replacement, credit or refund." Moreover, American Mint points out to each orderer that, "[y]ou can cancel this service at any time by calling toll-free 1-877-807-MINT."

On January 31, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship an American Gold Buffalo knife.

On February 18, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship the next item in the US Coin ***** Knife Collection, the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife, as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ****** had ninety days to preview the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at any time by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.

American Mint did not receive the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** ****** continued to receive monthly invoices, acquired late fees and his account was eventually referred to collections on February 23, 2023.

On December 21, 2022, American Mint received an e-mail from *** ****** concerning an invoice he received for the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife. *** ****** stated that he received the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife but alleged that he did not order it. He wanted to know how to return the knife. An American Mint customer service representative advised *** ****** that he was sent the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife as an authorized future issue in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase pursuant to the terms and conditions clearly stated on his order form. The representative asked *** ****** if he wanted the return label mailed or e-mailed to him. *** ****** never responded to customer service.

In conclusion, *** ****** was shipped and billed for merchandise in compliance with the terms and conditions clearly stated on his order form. *** ****** did not pay for nor return the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife. Therefore, he continued to receive monthly invoices, acquired late fees, and his account was eventually referred to collections. Although American Mint never received the Indian Head Quarter Eagle knife as a return nor payment for that item, American Mint made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for that item.

Enclosed is an account cleared letter. *** ****** should allow up to thirty days for all collection activity from the collection agency to completely cease.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

      Sincerely,

They keep sending me stuff that I didn't order. Then they demand payment or I have to return it. I called and told them I didn't order it but I went ahead and returned it to them with instructions not to send me anything else. Then they sent more stuff and I called and told them that I understand that if I didn't order it I don't have to pay or return it. But I went ahead and returned it and then I got another bill from them and I called and talked to *** and he hung up on me. Now I have received another bill and I'm getting really tired of their B.S. I'm really hoping you can help me get this resolved. Thank you. *******************

      June 22, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *******' complaint. *** ******* placed an order for a ****** ***** commemorative coin. This is the introductory item in the Greatest 2nd Amendment Presidents Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form which *** ******* voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) ****** ***** commemorative coin and (1) ****** ********* commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ******* alleges that he was sent unordered merchandise and that he is therefore not obligated to either pay for or return the merchandise. He further alleges that he returned the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin but continues to receive monthly invoices for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. American Mint denies these allegations.

Contrary to *** *******' allegations, *** *******' order form, which he voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint, clearly demonstrates that he placed an order with American Mint. *** ******* remitted payment via a Money Order for the introductory item. *** *******' order form clearly expressed that he would receive authorized future issues in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. American Mint did not receive the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin as returns nor payment for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. Although American Mint did not receive the ****** ********* commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item, American Mint wrote off the remaining balance due for that item as a return loss and cleared *** *******' account balance. American Mint also processed the ****** ***** commemorative coin as a return loss. *** ******* will receive a refund check in the amount of $19.95 within the next 2-4 weeks for the ****** ********* commemorative coin.

The relevant facts are as follows. American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ******* on July 11, 2022 for a ****** ***** commemorative coin. This item is part of the Greatest 2nd Amendment Presidents Collection. We received payment of $19.95 (the coin was 19.95 plus sales tax) via Money Order # *************. Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ******* and returned to American Mint.

As offered to the public, an initial order in the collection entitles all orderers to receive future issues in the collection. Specifically, as clearly printed on the form, "By returning this form, you will have the privilege of receiving future issues in the collection through our FREE in-home approval service."

Moreover, in its "Satisfaction Guarantee" American Mint informs each orderer that they have the right to refuse receipt of future issues. American Mint explains: "You will be billed at the regular price for the items you decide to keep, plus applicable shipping and sales tax. Shipments arrive about once a month.

On July 25, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a ****** ***** commemorative coin along with one (1) ****** ********* commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ******* had ninety days to preview the ****** ********* commemorative coin for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.
American Mint did not receive the ****** ********* commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices and acquired late fees.

On December 27, 2022, *** ******* called American Mint regarding an invoice he received for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. He alleges that he did not order this merchandise and that he previously returned unordered merchandise from a different order not at issue in this complaint. He alleges with the previous returns he sent a letter advising not to send anything else. He alleged that according to the law, he does not have to pay for or return the merchandise. American Mint denies these allegations.

Contrary to *** *******' allegations, American Mint did not send him any unordered merchandise under any applicable laws. *** *******' order form clearly demonstrates that he placed an order for a ****** ***** commemorative coin. *** *******' order form clearly expressed that he would receive authorized future issues in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted merchandise at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. American Mint did not receive the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin as returns nor payment for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices.

*** ******* alleged that he instructed American Mint not to send him any additional merchandise in a letter sent with his return from a previous order not at issue in this complaint. However, following receipt of the return from *** ******* in May 2022 from a previous order not at issue in this complaint, *** ******* voluntarily placed a new order with American Mint in July 2022 for additional merchandise. At this time, a customer service representative sent *** ******* a postage paid, self-addressed mailing label in order to use when returning his merchandise.

On February 20, 2023, *** ******* called American Mint regarding a shipment he allegedly received from American Mint that he did not order. *** ******* alleges that sometime in mid-January 2023 he returned the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin using American Mint's postage paid self-addressed mailing label. He alleged that although he returned the merchandise, he continued to receive invoices for the ****** ********* commemorative coin.

A customer service representative advised that American Mint had not yet received the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin as returns. The representative further advised that according to the tracking number associated with the prepaid label, it showed that the label was never used. Since *** ******* advised that he returned the package in mid-January, he was advised to allow additional time for American Mint to receive the returns.

On April 4, 2023, *** ******* called American Mint. He alleged that he returned the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin but continues to receive monthly invoices for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. Before the customer service representative could check the status of *** *******' returns and further assist *** *******, the call became disconnected. The representative attempted to call *** ******* back but was unable to reach him.

In conclusion, *** ******* was shipped and billed for merchandise in compliance with the terms clearly printed on his order form. *** ******* alleges that he returned the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin but continues to receive monthly invoices for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. Contrary to **.
*******' allegations, American Mint never received the ****** ***** commemorative coin and the ****** ********* commemorative coin as returns nor payment for the ****** ********* commemorative coin. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices. Although American Mint never received the ****** ********* commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item, American Mint wrote off the remaining balance due for the ****** ********* commemorative coin as a return loss and cleared *** *******' account balance. Enclosed is an account cleared letter. American Mint also processed the ****** ***** commemorative coin as a return loss. *** ******* will receive a refund check in the amount of $19.95 within the next 2-4 weeks for the ****** ***** commemorative coin.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

      May 19, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *********'s complaint. *** ********* placed an order for a 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin. This is the introductory item in the Historical Gold Eagle Reverse Proof Archival Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form which *** ********* voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, she was sent one (1) 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin as an authorized future issue in her collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ********* alleges that on May 9, 2023, American Mint charged her credit card without her permission. *** ********* alleges that American Mint charged her credit card for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin although she had previously called and advised that she did not order nor receive the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin and had confirmed that her card would not be charged for the item. American Mint denies these allegations. As detailed below, American Mint did not charge *** *********'s credit card for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin, rather, it only charged *** *********'s credit cards for other items that she expressly authorized American Mint to charge her credit cards for.

The relevant facts are as follows. We received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ********* on March 28, 2023 for a 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin. This item is part of the Historical Gold Eagle Reverse Proof Collection. *** ********* provided her ********** ending in **** as the payment method. On April 19, 2023, American Mint charged *** *********'s credit card in the amount of $7.45 (the coin was free with $6.95 shipping plus sales tax). Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ********* and returned to American Mint. At the time *** ********* placed the order for the 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin, the item was out of stock.

As offered to the public, an initial order in the collection entitles all orderers to receive future issues in the collection. Specifically, as clearly printed on the form, "By returning this form, you will have the privilege of receiving future issues in the collection through our FREE in-home approval service. No further action is required on your part. If you do not wish to preview future issues in the collection, please x-out this paragraph." *** ********* did not x-out this paragraph.

Moreover, in its "Satisfaction Guarantee" American Mint informs each orderer that they have the right to refuse receipt of future issues. American Mint explains: "You will be billed at the regular price for the items you decide to keep, plus applicable shipping and sales tax. If you pay by credit card, future shipments will not be charged until 25 days after the invoice date. Shipments arrive about once a month.

On April 19, 2023, after the item became in stock again, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin along with one (1) 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ********* had ninety days to preview the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin for free. She also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.
American Mint did not receive the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin as a return nor payment for that item.

On April 21, 2023, American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ********* for a 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin. *** ********* provided her ********** ending in **** as the payment method. American Mint charged *** *********'s credit card in the amount of $18.13 for the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin on May 10, 2023. Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ********* and returned to American Mint. At the time American Mint received the order for the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin, the item was out of stock.

On May 10, 2023, after the item became in stock again, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship one (1) 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin.

Contrary to *** *********'s allegations, American Mint did not charge her credit card for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin. Rather, American Mint charged *** *********'s credit card in the amount of $18.13 on May 10, 2023 for the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin after *** ********* voluntarily marked up, signed and returned her order form. *** ********* provided a different credit card number as the payment method on her order form for the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin. A customer service representative placed a payment halt on the credit card attached to *** *********'s order for the 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin on August 25, 2023 after *** ********* called and advised that she did not receive the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin. At that time, a missing item letter was sent to *** ********* to complete and return for processing. *** *********'s subscription to the Historical Gold Eagle Reverse Proof Archival Collection was cancelled at that time and she was shipped no further merchandise in this collection.

On May 10, 2023, *** ********* called American Mint again and advised that her debit card was charged for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin although she was supposed to have received a missing item letter and her collection was cancelled. The representative advised that *** ********* previously placed an order for the 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin and was shipped one (1) 1933 ******* Double Eagle replica coin and one (1) 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. The representative advised *** ********* that there was a record of the charge for $18.13. *** ********* again alleged that she did not order or receive the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin, but was still charged for that item. Contrary to *** *********'s allegations, American Mint did not send her unordered merchandise. *** *********'s order form, which she voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, clearly expressed that she would receive authorized future issues in her collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that she could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. The representative advised *** ********* that her credit card was not charged for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin and that her missing item letter was mailed on April 26, 2023. She was advised that her credit card was charged for an order that was received through the mail for a different item (1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin). *** ********* alleged that she did not order the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin. *** ********* alleged that her card was charged when she did not order the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin.

Contrary to her allegation, *** *********'s enclosed order form proves that she placed an order for the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin. Because the item was on backorder at the time the order was received, it was shipped out on May 10, 2023 after it became in stock again. *** ********* advised that she would refuse the package's delivery to receive a refund. To expedite the return process, *** ********* was offered a postage paid, self- addressed mailing label to use to return the item but she refused. However, the enclosed United States Postal Service ("USPS") tracking data shows that the package containing the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin was delivered to *** *********'s address on May 13, 2023 at 2:56 p.m. On May 10, 2023, *** ********* was sent a second missing item letter to complete and return for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin. American Mint never received either missing item letters back. Had *** ********* returned either letter, American Mint would have processed the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin internally as a missing item and cleared her account balance.

On May 11, 2023, American Mint processed the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin as a missing item and cleared *** *********'s account balance. Enclosed is an account cleared letter. Per this complaint, American Mint will make a onetime exception and issue *** *********'s credit card ending in 0940 a full credit card refund payment of $18.13. *** ********* may keep the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof replica coin.

In conclusion, *** ********* was shipped and billed for merchandise in compliance with the terms and conditions clearly printed on her order forms. American Mint did not charge *** *********'s credit card for the 1838 Liberty Head Eagle replica coin. Rather, American Mint charged *** *********'s credit card in the amount of $18.13 for a subsequent order received from *** ********* for a 1921 Peace Silver Dollar HR Archival Ed. replica coin. Per this complaint, American Mint will make a onetime exception and issue *** *********'s credit card ending in **** a full credit card refund payment of $18.13. *** ********* may keep the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof replica coin.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

American Mint offered a product at $36.90 which I ordered on 03/08/23. On 03/28, I received the item I ordered plus a second item I did not order and a due bill for $108.16 The unordered item would cost a lot to mail back, and as a senior citizen on limited income, I can't get to the post office easily, so I just paid the $108.16 on 04/01,again by check. On 05/04/23, I received a third item, also not ordered, and a due bill for $113.31. Please help me stop these people from sending me items I did not order.

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *****'s complaint. *** ***** placed an order for an introductory item in the Greatest Presidents of the Second Amendment Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form which *** ***** voluntarily returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) ******* ******* knife and one (1) ****** ********* knife as authorized future issues in the collection to preview at the regular price with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ***** alleges that he was offered a product at $36.90. He admits that he ordered and received the item but alleges that he also received an unordered item and an invoice for $108.16. *** ***** alleges that he could not return the unordered item, so he instead remitted payment of $108.16 via a check. *** ***** alleged that he later received an additional unordered item with an invoice for $113.31. American Mint denies that it sent *** ***** unordered merchandise.

Contrary to *** *****'s allegations, the order form which he voluntarily returned to American Mint, clearly expressed that he would receive authorized future issues in the collection to preview at the regular price with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. *** ***** could have contacted American Mint for a postage paid, self-addressed mailing label to use to return the ******* ******* knife. *** ***** could have returned the item in the same package he received it in by affixing the return label over the package's existing label, properly sealing it and simply handing it to his local postal carrier. On May 8, 2023, per his request, American Mint sent *** ***** a postage paid, self-addressed mailing label via e-mail in order to use to return the ****** ********* knife. *** ***** confirmed receipt of the label. Once American Mint receives the ****** ********* knife as a return, American Mint will clear *** *****'s account balance.

The relevant facts are as follows. American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ***** on March 15, 2023 for a ****** ***** knife. This item is part of the Greatest Presidents of the Second Amendment Collection. We received payment of $36.90 (the knife was $29.95 plus $6.95 shipping plus sales tax) via check # 1731. Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form that *** ***** voluntarily returned to American Mint.

As offered to the public, an initial order in the collection entitles all orderers to receive future issues in the collection. Specifically, as clearly printed on the form, "By returning this form, you will have the privilege of receiving future issues in the collection through our FREE in-home approval service. No further action is required on your part. If you do not wish to preview future issues in the collection, please x-out this paragraph." *** ***** did not x-out this paragraph.

On March 16, 2023, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a ****** ***** knife along with one (1) ******* ******* knife as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ***** had ninety days to preview the ******* ******* knife for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at any time by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.

American Mint did not receive the ******* ******* knife as a return, nor did it initially receive payment for that item. Therefore, *** ***** continued to receive monthly invoices.

On April 26, 2023, American Mint received payment of $108.16 via check # 1735 for the ******* ******* knife.

On April 28, 2023, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship one (1) ****** ********* knife as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ***** had ninety days to preview the ****** ********* knife for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at any time by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.

American Mint did not receive payment for the ****** ********* knife. *** ***** chose to return the knife. To clear *** *****'s account balance, he will need to return the ****** ********* knife using the postage paid, self-addressed mailing label that was sent to him on May 8, 2023. Once American Mint receives the ****** ********* knife as a return, American Mint will clear *** *****'s account balance.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

I received an offer from American Mint for a coin advertised cost of $16.90. I paid for the coin and then when I received the coin, the company included a number of items that were not requested by me. This was in May 2022. I called the company and told customer service that I did not order or want these extraneous items. I packed up the items not ordered by me in the original envelop and returned all of the items minus the coin that I had ordered and paid for. Since that time, I have continually received threatening letters from American Mint. I receive these letters monthly. I have contacted their customer service requesting the documentation on my account to be updated to include the credit for the returned items. I have not received any updated information and I continue to get my monthly threatening letters. As I can see from their rating, I am not the only person who has been victimized by this company.

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *******'s complaint. *** ******* placed an order for an introductory item in The American's Creed - We Follow the Flag Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form which *** ******* voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ******* alleges that he received an offer from American Mint for a coin for $16.90. He further alleges that he paid for and received the coin. He alleges that he received several items that were not requested by him that he returned but continues to receive monthly invoices. American Mint denies these allegations.

American Mint only received the high-quality collective storage display box (free item) and USA flag (free item) as returns. American Mint did not receive the United States of America commemorative coin and the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as returns. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices. In order to resolve this complaint, American Mint has written off the remaining balance due for the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as a return loss. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.

The relevant facts are as follows. We received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ******* on May 9, 2022 for a United States of America commemorative coin. This item is part of the American's Creed - We Follow the Flag Collection. We received payment of $16.90 (the coin was $9.95 plus $6.95 shipping plus sales tax) via check # 8127. Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ******* and returned to American Mint.

As offered to the public, an initial order in the collection entitles all orderers to receive future issues in the collection. Specifically, as clearly printed on the form, "By returning this form, you will have the privilege of receiving future issues in the collection through our FREE in-home approval service. No further action is required on your part. If you do not wish to preview future issues in the collection, please x-out this paragraph." *** ******* did not x-out this paragraph.

On May 10, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a United States of America commemorative coin along with one (1) Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as an authorized future issue to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ******* had ninety days to preview the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.

American Mint did not receive the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices.

On July 21, 2022, American Mint received a letter from *** ******* wherein he stated that he did not want the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin. At this time, *** *******'s collection was cancelled. *** ******* was advised that he received the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection pursuant to the terms of the American Mint Satisfaction Guarantee paragraph clearly printed on his order form. At this time, *** ******* was sent a postage paid, self-addressed mailing label to use to return the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin.

On August 4, 2022, American Mint received The American's Creed display box (free item) and the USA flag (free item) as returns. No other merchandise was returned.

On January 9, 2023, *** ******* called American Mint regarding an invoice he received. *** ******* alleged that he returned the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin. *** ******* stated that he only kept the United States of America commemorative coin. *** ******* alleged that he should not have a balance. The customer service representative inquired as to when *** ******* allegedly returned the item. Due to technical difficulties, the call had to be ended, but the representative advised *** ******* to call back in 30 minutes for further assistance.

In conclusion, *** ******* was shipped merchandise pursuant to the terms clearly printed on his order form. American Mint did not receive the Sovereign Nation commemorative
coin as a return nor did it receive payment for that item. Although American Mint never received the Sovereign Nation commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item, it has written off the remaining balance due for that item as a return loss. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

On January 18, 2023, I responded to a mailing that I had won a coin for $16.90 including mailing. The mailing said NOTHING about a second coin at an additional cost of $95.83. I received the coin plus a second coin and an invoice for $95.83. I am refusing to pay the additional cost or return the coins until I receive a prepaid return label plus my initial cost of $16.90.I have emailed the American Mint and have not received a response. I beleive their mailing is deceptive and does not mention a second coin or the additional cost. The coins are not worth even the original cost of $16.90 and are not collector grade.**************

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** *****' complaint. *** ***** placed an order for an introductory item in the High-Relief Silver Dollar Proof Archival Collection. Pursuant to the terms clearly printed on the order form which *** ***** voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) 1928-S Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof Archival Edition replica coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Contrary to *** *****' allegations, these are high quality items. The advertisement made no representation that the replica coin was collector grade. *** ***** alleges that he responded to an advertisement that offered a coin for $16.90 including shipping. He further alleges that the advertisement was deceptive because it did not disclose that he would receive a second coin or that there would be additional costs. American Mint denies these allegations.

*** *****'s order form, which he voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint, clearly expressed that he would receive authorized future issues in his collection to preview at the regular price with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within 90 days for a full credit or refund. Per these terms, *** ***** was not obligated to purchase any items sent to preview. Furthermore, the advertisement and order form clearly indicated that the regular price of the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof Archival Edition replica coin is $89.95, which is also the regular price for each item in the collection (plus applicable shipping and sales tax). Per the terms of the public offer, *** ***** received the 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof Archival Edition replica coin at its advertised discounted price of $16.90 plus sales tax. *** ***** did not return nor pay for the 1928-S Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Proof Archival Edition replica coin. Upon expiration of the free preview period, American Mint therefore began to bill *** ***** in compliance with the terms of his order form. On February 6, 2023, to resolve this matter, American Mint made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for the 1928-S Peace Silver Dollar High Relief Archival Edition replica coin.

The relevant facts are as follows. On January 25, 2023, American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ***** for a 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Archival Edition replica coin. This item is part of the High-Relief Silver Dollar Proof Archival Collection. We received payment of $16.90 (the coin was $9.95 plus $6.95 plus sales tax). Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ***** and returned to American Mint.

No further action is required on your part. If you do not wish to preview future issues in the collection, please x-out this paragraph." *** ***** did not x-out this paragraph.

Moreover, in its "Satisfaction Guarantee" American Mint informs each orderer that they have the right to refuse receipt of future issues. American Mint explains: "You will be billed at the regular price for the items you decide to keep, plus applicable shipping and sales tax.

On January 26, 2023, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a 1921 Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Archival replica coin along with one (1) 1928-S Peace Silver Dollar High- Relief Archival Edition replica coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.

On February 6, 2023, American Mint customer service received an e-mail from *** *****. *** ***** was upset about receiving an additional item to preview. As a courtesy to *** *****, American Mint wrote off the remaining balance due for the 1928-S Peace Silver Dollar High-Relief Archival Edition replica coin and cleared *** *****' account balance at that time. Enclosed is an account cleared letter. I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

I file this complaint on behalf of *********************, my recently widowed 95-year-old mother. During a visit with my mom on January 22, 2023, we discovered an invoice for $109.18 from American Mint dated 12.29.2022 (Account#: *********, Invoice #: ******** and a threatening collection letter addressed to our mom accusing her of being SERIOUSLY DELINQUENT with a threat to transfer her account to a Credit and *********************** while warning her not to let this matter escalate. The invoice amount references a single ************************************** coin with Certificate of Authenticity #***** from American Mint. We have verified that she has this coin; she does not remember ordering it. We found additional payments to American Mint in my mothers checkbook records, but no invoices to explain these payments: 6.25.2022 Check#**** $199.00 7.16.2022Check#****$ ***** 8.2.2022Check#****$ ***** On 1.24.23, I contacted American Mint Agent ***** ( ID ******. He stated that terms and conditions (presumably attached to my mother's purchases) triggered shipment of the ********* coin without my moms consent. She was unaware that her purchases obligated her to pay for eight more coins. ***** has canceled the additional coin shipments and is sending a return label for the ********* coin to effect termination of these “terms and conditions.” We understand it will take 13 business days for the label to arrive (by 2.10.2023). When American Mint has the coin, they will confirm receipt and revocation of the invoice. We also insist that American Mint cease all future contact with our mother. ***** says our mother may continue to receive “automated mail” for a 90-day period. We will monitor her mail and expect American Mint to cease all communication with our mother on or before 4.30.23. My sisters and I are watching over our mother, but we realize that many other vulnerable, elderly people targeted by American Mints predatory business practices may not be so fortunate.

      February 1, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to ****** ******'s complaint. *** ****** ****** identifies herself as the daughter of **** ******. *** **** ****** is a customer of American Mint. This response will address the allegations raised by ****** ****** concerning *** **** ******'s account with American Mint.

**. ****** ******'s complaint addresses two separate orders that *** **** ****** voluntarily placed with American Mint. The first order was for a complete set of replica coins. Her second order was for an introductory item in a commemorative coin collection. The terms and conditions for each order were prominently displayed on the order forms that *** **** ****** marked up, signed, and returned to American Mint. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the second order form, American Mint periodically sent authorized future issues in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Prior to receipt of any correspondence from the BBB, in response to **. ****** ******'s direct communications, American Mint wrote off the balance due for an authorized future issue that *** **** ****** had neither returned nor paid for, issued an account cleared letter, and removed *** **** ****** from its mailing list. Although these actions resolved the Complaint, American Mint provides additional explanation in response to **. ****** ******'s concerns.

**. ****** ****** alleges that her mother did not have invoices corresponding with check nos. **** and ****. These checks are related to *** **** ******'s first order for a complete set of replica coins. On July 1, 2022, American Mint received an order form in the mail from *** **** ****** for a Coinage of the CA Gold Rush Replica complete set of twenty- four (24) coins. We received payment of $199.00 (the complete set was $199.00 plus sales tax) via check # **** (it is believed this is the check referred to by **. ****** ****** as check no. ****). Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ****** and returned to American Mint. Also enclosed is a copy of the check *** ****** voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint. Although American Mint did not initially receive the sales tax due on this order, on July 5, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a Coinage of the CA Gold Rush complete replica set out of good faith. On July 21, 2022, American Mint received an additional payment of $27.85 via check # ****. This amount covered the unpaid sales tax due on this order as well as the balance of $16.90 due for
the ****** ***** commemorative coin from *** ******'s subsequent order discussed below. Enclosed is a copy of check # **** which *** ****** voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint.

**. ****** ****** next alleges that her mother did not have an invoice corresponding with check no. ****. As explained below, this check was related to *** **** ******'s second order for an introductory item in a commemorative coin collection. On July 21, 2022, American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ****** for a ****** ***** commemorative coin. This item is part of the Presidents of the USA commemorative coin collection. American Mint applied the credit of $16.90 (the coin was $9.95 plus $6.95 shipping plus sales tax) from check # 7074 above to cover the balance for the ****** ***** commemorative coin. Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** ****** and returned to American Mint.

On July 22, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a ****** ***** commemorative coin along with one (1) ****** ********* + TL commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ****** had ninety days to preview the ****** ********* TL commemorative coin for free. She also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number. Even if *** **** ****** had not read the order form, all of American Mint's shipments contain a returns information form with instructions to return any unwanted item at American Mint's expense as well as American Mint's toll-free customer service telephone number.

American Mint did not receive the ****** ********* + TL commemorative coin as a return. Therefore, *** ****** continued to receive monthly invoices. On August 10, 2022, American Mint received payment of $85.28 via check # **** for the ****** ********* + TL commemorative coin. Enclosed is a copy of check # **** that *** ****** voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint.

On August 11, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship the next item in the Presidents of the USA commemorative coin collection, the ******** ** ********* + TL commemorative coin, as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer and as explained on the returns information form, *** ****** had ninety days to preview the ******** ** ********* + TL commemorative coin for free. She also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at any time by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.
American Mint did not receive the ******** ** ********* + TL commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** ****** continued to receive monthly invoices. **. ****** ****** alleges that American Mint shipped the ******** ** ********* + TL commemorative coin without her mom's express knowledge or consent and that her mother was "unaware that one of her purchases obligated her to receive and pay for eight additional coins." American Mint denies this allegation because it does not accurately describe the terms and conditions of the offer. As discussed above, the order form that *** **** ****** voluntarily marked up, signed, and returned to American Mint expressly stated that she would receive authorized future issues in her collection to preview at the regular price with no obligation to purchase and that she could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. She was never obligated to pay for any coin sent to her, much less "eight additional coins." She was also entitled to return any unwanted coins at American Mint's expense within 90 days.

**. ****** ****** also alleges that American Mint targets elderly people with predatory business practices. American Mint denies this allegation. American Mint does not target the elderly. Prior to **. ****** ******'s complaint, American Mint had no record of *** **** ******'s age as American Mint does not collect this information. Furthermore, *** **** ****** never gave any indication that she was not competent to handle her own affairs. *** **** ****** marked up, signed, and returned the order forms, and she wrote out checks corresponding with her orders. American Mint simply had no reason to believe that *** **** ****** was elderly or in fragile health. As soon as American Mint received notice of these issues, in response to **. ****** ******'s direct communication, American Mint made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for the ******** ** ********* + TL commemorative coin. *** ****** may keep the ******** ** ********* commemorative coin at no charge.

Enclosed is an account cleared letter. I trust this resolves the complaint.

      January 11, 2023

      Dear *** *******:

I am writing in reference to *** ******s' complaint* *** ******* placed an order for a Fort Knox Gold Vault commemorative coin. This item is the introductory item in the U.S. History of Gold commemorative coin collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form that *** ******* voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) First U.S. Gold commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** ******* alleges that he received a collection notice for a product that he never purchased or signed up for. He further alleges that he never authorized anything to be purchased under his name from American Mint. American Mint denies these allegations.
*** ******s' order form, which he voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint, proves that he placed an order for a Fort Knox Gold Vault commemorative coin. Furthermore, his order form clearly expressed that he would receive authorized future issues in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within 90 days for a full credit or refund. *** ******* never returned nor paid for the First U.S. Gold commemorative coin. Therefore, he continued to receive monthly invoices. Although *** ******* did not return the First U.S. Gold commemorative coin or pay for that item, American Mint made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for that item on January 10, 2023.
The relevant facts are as follows. We received an introductory order form in the mail from *** ******* on June 30, 2022 for a Fort Knox Gold Vault commemorative coin. This item is a .585 solid gold item and is part of the U.S. History of Gold commemorative coin collection. We received a credit card payment of $18.31 (the coin was $9.95 plus $6.95 shipping plus sales tax). Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form that *** ******* voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint.
On July 1, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a Fort Knox Gold Vault commemorative coin along with one (1) First U.S. Gold commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. The First U.S. Gold commemorative coin is also a .585 solid gold item. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** ******* had ninety days to preview the First U.S. Gold commemorative coin for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at any time by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number. American Mint did not receive the First U.S. Gold commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** ******* continued to receive monthly invoices. Although American Mint did not receive the First U.S. Gold as a return nor payment for that item, it made a onetime exception and wrote off the remaining balance due for that item. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.
I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.

      December 29, 2022

      Dear *** *******:
I am writing in reference to *** ****'s complaint. *** **** placed an order for an introductory item in the Keep America Great Collection. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer clearly printed on the order form which *** **** voluntarily marked up and returned to American Mint, he was sent one (1) Our Future commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. *** **** alleges that American Mint mailed him a commemorative coin that he did not order. He further alleges that he returned the unordered coin with American Mint's prepaid envelope but continued to receive monthly invoices for that item. American Mint denies these allegations.

Contrary to *** ****'s allegations, American Mint does not send and bill its customers for unordered merchandise. *** ****'s order form, which he voluntarily marked up, signed and returned to American Mint, proves that he placed an order for a ***** - Second Amendment commemorative coin. Furthermore, *** ****'s order form clearly expressed that he would also receive authorized future issues in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase and that he could return unwanted items at American Mint's expense within ninety days for a full credit or refund. American Mint did not receive the Our Future commemorative coin as a return. Therefore, *** **** continued to receive monthly invoices for that item. It appears that *** **** used the prepaid envelope sent with his initial order to return the Our Future commemorative coin. This envelope is not intended or designated for returning coins, but rather, it is intended for customers to use to return payments. The coin's weight may have caused it to become dislodged from the envelope at the time it was sorted at the USPS facility. Although American Mint did not receive the Our Future commemorative as a return nor payment for that item, it processed the Our Future commemorative coin as a return loss on December 21, 2022 and cleared *** ****'s account balance. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.
The relevant facts are as follows. American Mint received an introductory order form in the mail from *** **** on September 28, 2022 for a ***** - Second Amendment commemorative coin. This item is part of the Keep America Great Collection. We received payment of $9.95 (the coin was $9.95 plus sales tax) via check # ****.  Enclosed for your review is a copy of the order form voluntarily marked up by *** **** and returned to American Mint.

You are under no obligation! If you are not satisfied with any item that is shipped to you, you may send it back within 90 days at our cost for replacement, credit or refund." Moreover, American Mint points out to each orderer that, "[y]ou can cancel this service at any time by calling toll-free 1-877-807-MINT.”

On September 29, 2022, American Mint instructed its distributor to ship a Trump- Second Amendment commemorative coin along with one (1) Our Future commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in the collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. Pursuant to the terms of the public offer, *** **** had ninety days to preview the Our Future commemorative coin for free. He also had the right to cancel the authorized future service at anytime by contacting American Mint at its toll-free number.
American Mint did not receive the Our Future commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** **** continued to receive monthly invoices.

On October 6, 2022, *** ****'s wife, *****, called American Mint customer service. She stated that *** **** had returned the Our Future commemorative coin on his own. Customer service advised ***** that American Mint was not responsible for items returned without the use of its return labels. American Mint can only track its own return labels. Like *** ****'s allegations in his complaint, ***** alleged that *** **** placed the Our Future commemorative coin in American Mint's envelope along with the return information form. At this time, *** ****'s collection was cancelled. ***** was advised that he was shipped the Our Future commemorative coin as an authorized future issue in his collection to preview with no additional obligation to purchase pursuant to the terms and conditions clearly printed on his order form. Since *** **** had just mailed out the Our Future commemorative coin, customer service advised ***** to allow additional time for American Mint to receive the item as a return. Other than *****'s call on October 6, 2022, American Mint has no other records of any contacts from ***** or *** ****.

In conclusion, *** **** placed an order for a ***** - Second Amendment commemorative coin. Pursuant to the terms clearly printed on his order form, he was also shipped one (1) Our Future commemorative coin to preview with no additional obligation to purchase. American Mint never received the Our Future commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item. Therefore, *** **** continued to receive monthly invoices. *** **** could have contacted American Mint for a postage paid, self-addressed mailing label. Although American Mint did not receive the Our Future commemorative coin as a return nor payment for that item, American Mint processed that item as a return loss and wrote off the remaining balance due for that item. Enclosed is an account cleared letter.

I trust this resolves the complaint. Please let me know if you need anything further. Thank you for your assistance in settling this matter.
