I was charged $666.18 to have the alternator replaced on my 2010 ***** because the battery kept dying. The car was good for a couple of days, and then it wouldn't start again. I have left numerous messages on Snyder's voice mail and never got a callback. I am a disabled senior citiaen who spent more than half my Social Security check to have a car that runs, and I back to squate one after spending so much monehy!I don't know if it's possible to be refunded the money so I can go to a reliable mechanic, but that would be the best outcome for me. Thank you

Customer called said her vehicle wouldn't start. We went to her place of residence to pick the car up to bring back to our garage to work on it. Ran diagnostic tests that showed the alternator was not charging the battery. Called customer with price for new alternator and she gave approval to go ahead and put one in. Also told her that we wouldn't know if car needed a new battery until we replaced the alternator. She insisted she had just put a battery in that it would not need a new one. We put new alternator in and tested the battery it was testing a little low. Car sat at the garage over night as we were unsuccessful in getting customer on the phone. Next day car started up no problem for us. We got ahold of the customer later in the day told her alternator was in and it started for us but battery was testing low. She again insisted the battery had been replaced. We advised if she wasn't driving the car to go out and start it every other day. We drove vehicle back to her place of residence and dropped it off to her.

A few weeks after work was completed and car was returned customer did call and say it wouldn't start. We told her to get it towed over or jumped and bring it over as we didn't have time to come pick it up on this occasion. Car never showed up. She did call right before thanksgiving after hours and left a very nasty message on our machine.

We had done it as a courtesy of picking up and dropping off the customers car to her. There may be an electrical issue with the car as it was full of garbage and smelled of urine. There are rodents in the car.

As she stated in her response the car started up immediately and then three days later nothing. She admits to being advised to starting the car if she isn't driving it.
If she wants to take her car to another service station and have the alternator tested and it is deemed that the alternator is not working properly I will cover the cost of an alternator. I will not refund $666.18 as an alternator was not the only service performed on her vehicle that day and that is total amount for ALL of the services that were performed.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  whateve work he did or did not do, the problem has not been resolved and he did not respond to my numerous phone calls about it. So I spent a lot of money with no results and he had avoided me.  We need to be fair about this. I asked for the refund because I need to take my car to a trustworthy mechanic, but now he has my money and I am broke and without a car.

    Regards,
