The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On October 30, 2024 Stephanie L. Bonincontro, owner of Sideline Tree Service, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of misusing her Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) money for personal use.In 2020, Ms. Bonincontro received $500,000 in Economic Impact Disaster Loan funds which are administered by the Small Business Administration and designed to help businesses recover from the economic impacts of disaster. The suit alleges that approximately $250,000 of the EDIL funds were placed into a personal investment account in order to launder it. The indictment further alleges that another $225,000 was used for a second company she owned and used a portion of the funds toward paying off personal credit card debt.
The investigation leading to the indictment was conducted by the FBI and IRS.
This matter is pending. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
