I pay a lot of money for cigna insurance and do not get what I pay for. Cigna refuses to cover a medication that I need for immediate life support on a daily basis. They insist on my getting generic medications. None of the generic so called "equivalents" work. They do not work for me. They insist that I get prior authorization from a Dr. However, Dr.'s will not complete prior authorization forms because they have neither the time nor the resources to complete these forms and they know in advance that they will probably still be rejected anyway. As a result my Dr. prescribes other medications that Cigna will also not cover. Cigna then requires that I get other generic worthless junk which does not work and we end up back where I began with still no medication which I cannot go without for even a day. Cigna's bureaucratic nonsense is quite literally endangering my life. Paying for the medication myself makes having Cigna insurance completely worthless. Cigna insurance is wasting the resources and money of medical facilities that could otherwise be used to treat patients. They costing customers staggering amounts of wasted money, while destroying the health of their customers. However, Cigna is enriching corporations who make worthless snake oil medications that do not work and are also worthless.

We joined Cigna this past year, coming from Harvard Pilgrim after 8 years. My god, what a terrible, terrible, excuse for a health insurance plan. Not only do they deny claims repeatedly that are 100% valid, but they contradict their own website! I had a provider who was listed as in-network in their search capabilities. They are an extremely important part of my healthcare team and when choosing a new plan I had to be sure they were covered. After signing up I received a EOB stating that she was "out of network" and I would be covering the entire balance of the visit myself. On top of that, my wife who has had abnormal paps in her past went to her OBGYN for her annual checkup. Cigna for the first time ever in her life submitted a bill for her labs and pap! That is considered preventative care and should cost nothing, yet they are billing her for the procedure. she called the doctors office to confirm it was billed correctly, and they told her its how they submit every pap, and that Cigna is "the worst to deal with." God forbid anyone in our family has a serious health issue, we'll die out bleeding on the table waiting for a prior authorization. I would pay a penalty to jump to another plan right now! Cannot wait for the year to be over so we can get off this trainwreck of a plan.

Cigna hasn't paid claims from 9/2023 & 20/2023. No call backs or information on why claims hasn't been paid. Talked to several representatives and claims are in the system and past 60 days posted.

Wouldn't cover my crown because it's ceramic and ceramic is a modern technology?! They just want people to suffer with low-tech primitive legacy technologies. The deductible was so low, it only covered a small fraction of what I needed. They were useless and I hated using them as a service. They made me spend more money than not having insurance.

My hospital claim has been processing over 3 months and no one has seem to care to help. There is no one you can get in contact with that knows what they are doing. It is not fair to take a person's money for insurance and not hold up your end of the bargon. I need someone to assist me with getting this claim resolved and closed.

Cigna is absolutely HORRIBLE!! I fell off of my deck 3 WEEKS AGO and they have denied my doctor's order for an MRI twice!! I pay an outrageous amount to have PPO coverage through Cigna at my job and I wish to God I could go to a different insurance company. So now I have to pay out of pocket for this MRI. Thanks for nothing as usual Cigna?!?!?

If your employer offers Cigna Healthcare as a provider, I urge you to find your own insurance provider and pay out of pocket. That’s how terrible this company is at providing ANY type of service, quality or otherwise, to their customers. Any claim you submit, they will pretend like they did not receive it and you will have to call over 10 times for successful processing- trust me, I’ve submitted 4 claims and have had to literally scream at the representatives to get them to process it.

Been waiting for 3 weeks for supplemental application to be approved. To date no response. I find here so many negative reviews that I'll look elsewhere for another company. Larry K***** in Maybank, Texas

I have been on a medication for over 20 years, that has been DENIED! The reasons Cigna gave are a joke, one specifically, that we cannot determine you are over the age of 18. YOU CAN'T DETERMINE MY AGE??? Well, maybe an A.I. program is not looking for that but a real doctor, who is signing off on these denials should have caught it. Oh wait, they are not even reading them, just denying in bulk. Doctor's that take a Hippocratic oath (if that hasn't been banned) should be reviewing patient's and not denying in mass. They should lose their licenses for this behavior. My doctor has sent two prior authorization forms for this medication, explaining adverse reactions to the ones they are recommending, and both pre-auth were both denied. I am not seeking the care because I cannot afford it or risk being denied and then falling into debt. I have been getting mammograms since I was 30, history on both sides with immediate family members deaths from breast cancer before the age of 50. I have been biopsied, so there is history. It was denied because I do not reach the age for yearly mammogram screenings. In one denial you cannot prove I am old enough for medication and in another my age is too young for a mammogram. My company went from Guardian to Cigna and my dentist told me they are only taking Cigna for existing patients and will not except new Cigna patients. They are the lowest paying insurance company, late in making payments (one of their defense reasons for using AI, to get payments to the practices quicker) and always deny services. I have to get two wisdom teeth out and I am so scared because of the claim being denied and having to pay out of pocket. How can an insurance company deny you medication or services, when they are not the ones that examined you. The response, "because they can". Seeing reviews, and anything with low ratings, multiple complaints and practices that are either dropping you or don't like to work with you, tells you all you need to know.
