      Penske Truck Rentals should be out of business. Their trucks are ****, shame on me for renting twice. Both 26ft moving trucks never had A/C. They claim repeatedly yes the air works, but when complaints are made oh really, no A/C. They know well and good the history on their trucks record and maintenancenone. When asking for a discount suffering through driving through desert heat, no one would ever call us back. Do not rent Penske.ever.

      So disappointed in my most recent Penske experience. We have rented from Penske in the past and have always had a good experience. There was always a benefit to Penske over U-Haul. Those days are clearly over. We made a reservation for a 22 truck and received a 26 truck. We didnt need the additional space and we were made to feel as if we were receiving a gift. Well, the gift included a leaky windshield that allowed water to pour into the truck when raining. A windshield wiper that flew off during the rain because the arm was previously damaged and not caught during the trucks inspection one month earlier. We stopped and purchased a new wiper and had to zip tie it onto the arm in order to make it work. The truck would only go 45mph up hill with a strong wind behind it. It was so bad that we were a hazard to other trucks as we could not maintain a minimum safe speed. When we returned the truck we fulfilled our end of the contract and returned it with all the fuel we were supposed to. The agent at the ********* in ********** did not know how to handle the refund of the wiper or our concerns. I was handed a phone and told to speak with ************ at our local Penske office. **** seemed genuinely interested in resolving our concerns and asked me to forward him our expense to replace the wiper, to date no refund has actually happened. I then asked for a concession given the poor condition of the truck, I was told that a $250 credit was the *** that could be applied. Considering what all had occurred we asked for a refund of what would essentially been the cost of the **** I was told the this request exceeded his purview and that the corporate office would have to approve such a request. It has been six weeks and nothing. It is unfortunate given how positive our previous experiences have been. Also, after completing the Penske survey we still received not a single response from anyone.

      We ordered a 12 ft truck for a one way delivery 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived to pick it up, we were told that we had been DOWNGRADED to a van. Luckly if all fit. The rental was mandated for 6 days. However, we arrived at our locatiion 3 days early and only used the van for 3 days.When we called, we were told there would be no refund for the 3 days we did not use the van (yet it was dropped off and rerented during our rental period to someone else)--talk about double dipping. In addition the panel between the driver and passenger seat was loose and fell off during the trip. (we have video) .Will never use them again.,

      I bought a truck more than 12 weeks ago, supposedly it should have been ready between 3 to 4 weeks, it is already the 13th week that I am waiting for my vehicle, it has been in and out of the workshop 7 times. The last time it was about to cause an accident in which several human lives could have been lost, something that could have been avoided if they had done their job well from the beginning. No one gives you a concrete answer, everyone washes their hands, We have to call them all the time to stay on top and get updates. I am currently in week 13 my vehicle is at a dealership for more repairs, the dealer sent the estimate since Friday and I had to call them today to tell them that. They work too slow, they waste time and money, I was almost forced to put the insurance and I had to pay the downpayment to the lender, now my vehicle is still stopped, without making repairs, no one gives me an answer, no one gives me other options, we were scammed by Penske

      Penske ****** office stole my $100.00 cash deposit after assuring I would receive my deposit back in cash. The original drop off spot was 3rd Party and they couldn't refund it. So they sent me over 5miles to a main Penske office, where they cut me a bogus check. I tried get it cashed where the check was drawn. **** of America. But the check wasn't even registered. I tried 4 or 5 times, nothing but embarrassment... Everytime I called Penske, they put me on hold, then have no answer or promise they say they will call me back, when they never do. **** and ****** are the main to reps not to be trusted. So either the company is broke, and cant foot their bills, or they purposely gave me a check the knew they couldn't cash. I be sure to keep all recording and expose their poor business practices. I hate to take it to social media but ppl need to know not to do business with ****************** and the ******, CO *********** of 40th they will steal your deposit and make tou feel as it such a ****** to meet the customer's needs.

      Reserved cargo van, for $62.99. Went to pick up, over 24 hours, after making reservation, at confirmed time, and location. No van. They offered truck, or to locate, and get. I preferred to wait couple hours, for van. Went to finalize, was told owed additional $144, for security deposit. My receipt had security deposit listed, no amount next to it. They wanted money, not disclosed, in agreement.

      This is one POS company! Rental truck arrived an hour late! This not only took precious time from us but the 5 people waiting,To help move us. This could have been avoided by penske. Manager was rude when contacted. Read people got $150 discount for flat tire, not expected issue! WTF?

      I recently rented a 16 ft. Penske truck to make a move from ******* to ****** (roughly 1300 miles). The truck was clean when we got it, the checkout was within half and hour, and the truck ran fine. About halfway to ******, we noticed a slight pulling to the right. When we stopped for gas, we noticed one of the front tires was partially flat, so we headed to a Discount Tire nearby to have it checked out. Sure enough, there was a s**** in the tire. But that was not the real issue. To our shock, the Discount Tire representative said they could not fix the tire because that tire and the other front tire were unsafe to drive. On both tires, the inside tread (about 1.5 2 inches) was bald. Both tires would have to be replaced.I will forgo the details that transpired with Penske over the next hour or so, but in the end, we had Discount Tire replace the tires so we could continue with our journey in a timely fashion.I contacted Penske through their online site to try to get reimbursed for the tires. The representative I dealt with, in my opinion, was accusatory, condescending, and even a bit threatening. The only apology I got was Im very sorry for the difficulty that you had with our truck. Never did they acknowledge that the truck should not have gone out in that condition in the first place, which was my main contention. I did not get reimbursed for the tires.I also found out that the contract and all its fine print expressly makes no warranty of any kind as to the fitness of the vehicle and releases Penske from any liability whatsoever. How is it that a company can rent you a vehicle and take no responsibility for its condition or what danger it may pose? Perhaps the other truck rental company contracts say similar things, I dont know.So, my advice to you, if nothing else, check the condition of the tires (and perhaps fluids as well) on the vehicle before signing for it! And, read reviews before you choose a rental company!

      After reviewing all of the details of the rental, Penske has refunded a total of $150 based on the poor experience that you had. We did offer assistance with the tires on the truck through our Roadside assistance, but the service was cancelled as you opted to have the work completed on your own. 

      Any unauthorized work completed on our trucks voids our rental agreement.

      Their we are the only one guarantee to have a truck for you, is such false advertising!! We were needing a truck for a move to ********** and at the last minute they called and wanted us to drive 2 hours to pick up a truck at a different store. They then promised, again, theyd have a truck two hours later than planned. Again, they didnt show at that time. Ridiculous!!!!!!! They should not guarantee they are the only company that will have you a truck on the day and time needed. We were stuck waiting. Will NEVER use them again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone to use.

      Fraudulent Sales, Fraudulent Inspections, No Value for Money. - Truck purchased from Penske Used Trucks, Reading ,PA I purchased a non CDL Reefer Box truck in the month of march2024. [Penske Unit ******]. It was initially marketed as Level 1 truck which actually means a certified vehicle that exceeds DOT expectations. Till date I have not been able to put the truck on road and it is giving problems after problems. A Reefer truck certified as LEVEL 1 had these problems. - Immediately after the purchase, On day 1 when a truck full load was booked (assuming that the Reefer is fully functional or working as expected), REEFER Cooling Unit (Thermo KING) totally failed and was not working.Total expenses spent out of pocket so far : $1804(rental truck, fuel, labor to unload damaged goods etc). Penske is not reimbursing this cost to us as it was PENSKE's negligence.- Thermo ****************** not going to negative temperatures. We repeatedly informed and called several times and indicated that the issue was still not fixed. They had completely disregarded the fact we reported, and said the mechanic has certified and issue no longer exists (without really testing). The post sales team is refusing to address this problem and doing blame games and asking us to reach the vendor directly as PENSKE is saying they are not responsible for this any more. as they are saying it is "Out of 15 day window" after sales. Worst part was that the truck was with PENSKE's vendor for almost nearly a month. They did some replacement of bracket, which had caused further problems with the truck. PENSKE is refusing to fix these problems caused by the vendor as they are saying it is "Out of 15 day window" after sales. Here one thing they forgot is PENSKE's VENDOR's fault becomes PENSKEs responsibility and NOT the customer. They could have found an alternate vendor to fix the problem (instead of telling lies to the customer that issue is actually fixed, without really fixing it)
