After meeting with estimator *************************** from Bachmans I decided to hire them to replace roof. **** assured me of only highly qualified employees whom are *** trained with proper installation techniques would be doing my roof. "we do not use sub's" per ****. Roof was done 18th of August, 2023 and sad to say this install is a train wreck. The Mrs. was home at the time as I had to work, she called me to say how awfull the drip edge looked. I went up on the roof the next day to inspect and was overwhelmed with all the mistakes I saw. I took close to 50 short videos and 200 plus pictures.I had a local home inspection company access the install of the roof and their 6 page report is concerning. After the inspection and per their reccomendation I had a roofer with 40 plus years experience evaluate the shingle install and his report was equally alarming with basically stating I can expect issues in 3 to 6 years from now. I decided to have independent people evaluate the roof to prove to me there is no bias. I was in touch with **** **** from Bachmans, emailed him a bunch of my videos( 20-55 seconds long each) and a few pictures with hopes of getting his opinion. Of course he would not email his opinions on the vids, disscredit his company I guess. He did email me with annoyance, :"stop sending me all these vid's, I will not comment on them" **** **** did stop down my house the 19th of October, did not go up on the roof though, said he would like to fix the drip edge and shingle overhang, think he said he could fix the valleys, reshingle and all, fix the 2 nails per shingle and over-driven nails and nailing above 'nail-zone' issues. Also removing nails that punctured crown moulding( 121 years old it is) filling holes, painting and/or replacing crown moulding that is too damaged? " I am sure we can get crown moulding around here" Fixing the drip edge and shingle over hang I can see, Fixing the improper valleys, overdriven nails, lack of nails, nails above nail-zone and shingles rolling over 19/12 to 5/12, This is not feasible at all. rip-off and re-do is only fix for best results. All I ever wanted is a roof to last, worry free for 25 years plus. Note: prior roof placed in 1996, no issues, looked great, installed properly, had another 7-10 years life. I truly feel like I was mislead by ****, I compare ***'s installation instructions, nail placement details, rake details, technical advisory bulletins and *** Pro Field Guide 2.0 installing shingle valleys, I see NO COMPARISON when looking at the shingle instal I was given. I ask, *** training?? Lipstick on a Pig is all I received. note: I did email **** **** today, questions he never answered listed as such; Why? only 2 nails per shingle? Nails 'above' strike-zone? 20" space between nails on many? 70% plus over-driven nails pushed 80% thru shingle? Nails in valley center? Why did ******** say "You'll get used to it" ?? I am not. Why did Alex tell me with conviction he knew proper use of air nailer when I questioned him about hitting voids or over-driving nails??

    Dear *** *****,

We are in receipt of your letter dated December 6, 2023.

On November 15, 2023, I received an email from *** ****, regarding the installation of his roof. At that time, he provided me with a punch-list of items he would like repaired. I have reviewed his list with **** ****, Director of Operations. *** **** has agreed to repair items 1-10, number 11 can be reviewed with *** **** in person.

I will be reaching out to *** **** to schedule a time for *** **** and a repair-crew to visit his home and make the agreed upon corrections. Once all of the corrections have been made, we will schedule a roof inspection with a *** representative.

    Sincerely,

    Risk Manager
