My wife and I both had our oil changed at Orloski's Car Wash and Lube Shop in the past couple of months. My wife drives a 2021 ***** *** and I drive a 2019 **** **** truck. My wife's oil change was done on 9/17/2022. The invoice number is ******. I had my oil change done on 2/10/2023. The invoice is ******. On 3/17/23, I needed to take my truck to ****** **** to have my heat shield replaced, as it was hanging down under my truck. I paid ****** **** $150.45 to have the heat shield replaced. On 5/6/2023 my wife and I were driving on Interstate ** in **** County near **** **** Road. We were driving and all of a sudden we heard what sounded like an explosion and then witnessed white smoke coming from the front of the vehicle and then a loud scraping noise. We were able to pull over at an emergency vehicle road pull off. I checked the tires, they were fine. I checked under the hood of the car and there didn't appear to be any broken belts or hoses. I looked under the car and could see the heat shield hanging. We took the car to **********, where we leased the car from. They would not cover the repair of the heat shield because they said that it was not properly fastened after the last oil change and that ***** would not cover it because of that reason. We were then charged $237.70 for that repair. I contacted the manager at Orloski's and he said that Orloski's would not take responsibility for the heat shields not being fastened correctly. We have video footage from the ********** mechanic stating the reason that the heat shield came off was because it was not fastened correctly after the last oil change. We are only looking for Orloski's to take responsibility for the poor workmanship that we received during our oil changes, and to reimburse us for the two new heat shields that needed to be replaced.

On July 31st of 2022 at 11:07 a.m. I paid $32.00 (exterior and interior cleaning) and drove my car through Oroski's car wash. When I came out there was a very large chunk of paint missing from the front driver side bumper. I immediately brought it to Orloski's worker's attention and at such time was told that they would go "check the cameras" After they claimed that it was a pre- existing issue with my car (which it was not) I bought this car in June and it had no such damage. Once he came back out he said he saw me drive in with no damage and come out with it and proceeded to take an incident report. He told me the owner would call me the following day (Monday) He did not, I then called him and was told he was "in a meeting and would call me back" He did not, Tuesday I called again and finally got to speak directly to the owner and he told me to send him a picture, I did. He advised me that the manager who took the report would be in soon and he would call me right back. He did not. Wednesday rolled around and finally I spoke to the owner once more. Again, he stated that this had to have happened because of my car and an "air bubble" under the paint, (which is un true) Stated that his high pressure wash indeed caused my car damage but that if I had a "normal car" it would not have happened. After this he wanted to blame the dealer I bought the car from. I am an honest hard-working woman and I worked extremely hard for this car, I do not point fingers but not once did Jerry (the owner) apologize or offer to fix the damages and I thought that was incredibly unprofessional and not something a rebuttable Business Man should do. All I wanted was to be treated with respect, have the Business take responsibility, and help me fix my car and that did not happen. Now I am stuck eating the cost of this. I just want the right thing to be done here so that others do not have to go through what I am going through at this moment.

      Business response

      08/24/2022

      Good Morning,

I am emailing in response to the complaint against Orloski's Carwash #********.  I spoke to ******** through text and on the phone several times but I will try to explain it as best I can to the BBB.

At Orloski's we wash tens of thousands of cars a year with 800-1000PSI high pressure water and foam material.  In this case ******** had the car for two months and nothing was wrong with the car which I can confirm on video as it enters the wash, as the car exits the wash you can see a large spot of paint missing from the front bumper.  Obviously if this was a problem with our carwash it would have removed all the paint from the car, and all the cars that came through that day.  I know our equipment is sound.  I told ******** that high pressure water should not cause paint to fall of like that and I believed that it was repaired incorrectly probably before she bought the used vehicle.  If her vehicle has a pre existing issue with paint and it comes off at my facility does not make the paint defect my fault.  I cannot take responsibility something that I am not at fault for, I felt bad for her and requested that she talk to the dealer she bought the car from or check carfax, she said the dealer was very reputable and didn't seem to want to contact them but I am unsure if she reached out to them.  I have included a picture of the bumper where you can clearly see chipping and bubbling of the paint around the edge.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Firstly because he never got back to me as he is asserting. Secondly I do have the car fax from the dealer and there were no accidents or repaints. Thirdly I have washed my car multiple times at other washes with no issues. My car went in there with no damage and came out missing a massive chunk of paint. He is also asserting that all the paint would be removed and that is simply not true.  Now I have done my due diligence and checked with the dealer and the car fax. I have also checked the legitimacy of Orloskis and if you are to check his ratings online there is a list of people that his machines have done this to and his response to all of them was it was the car not his fault.  How many cars can he destroy before being held liable? We talked to a lawyer and the court fees would supersede the repair. This seems to be how he continues to do this to others. We just want responsibility taken and the repair covered as it was his fault. If he can't stand by his product or business maybe it shouldn't be operating anymore.

      Regards,
