On 6/13/23 FOUR barstools w/ nailheads were dropped off for reupholstering and replacing ALL nailheads. Picked them up on 8/3/23 and found the workmanship to be unacceptable, puckered fabric on seats, scratched wood, very sparse nailheads on backs and NONE on seats!!!!!!The owner (****) adamantly/rudely refused to fix/correct any of the flaws and DID NOT want to put nailheads on seats. He said theres nothing wrong with them and nothing else I can do??!!The original conversation was $175each (labor only) without nailheads OR $225each (labor only) WITH nailheads (as written on agreement) thats what we decided on and is noted on our written agreement. Were looking for a full refund to take them to a real professional and correct/repair his work.

            Business response

            08/25/2023

In response to the complaint, this is a matter of opinion.  We agreed on a price for the upholstery to include the new decorative nail heads to be used on the inside and outside of the back of each stool.  I did not agree to using any decorative nail heads on the seat side.  The fabric was not puckered.  The stools all came to me with stress cracks and wear and tear.  The seats are 12 years old as indicated by the Pier One Import tags on them.  When the customer came to pick up her stools, she decided to try to negotiate the price.  I gave her the best price already and absolutely would not come down.  There was no reason to. Her spouse threatened me bodily injury, fists clenched and asked me to step outside.  I asked them to leave.  In my opinion, the customer is reporting me to you because I would not negotiate my price.  Sincerely, Patriot Upholstery

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

As shown on receipt clearly, stating with nail heads meaning all around top and bottom as they were originally. He had originally quoted $175 each (labor)to replace some of the nail heads then when I dropped them off I told him I wanted ALL nailheads replaced and he agreed to $225each (labor )as written on receipt and agreed upon by him!
Again as pictured, fabric is puckered, scratches that were not there before, wooden frame exposed on two of the stools, missing nail heads on the seats, and the ones that he did put in on the backs are very sparse compared to the original stools. The owner and I took pictures together when I dropped them off so that we could all be on the same page in  case additional scratches happened while getting upholstered.  He refused to look at the pictures when we picked them up.I dont need to look at anything he said. He mentions on his response that these are 12 years old and from Pier One Imports. This is all IRRELEVANT, where they came from and how long Ive had them does not matter!!! People reupholster furniture that are hundreds of years old. He is looking for an excuse for his bad workmanship or lack there of!!! Upon picking them up and saw how horrible the workmanship was we asked if he could correct it?? He very rudely and adamantly said theres nothing wrong with them and nothing else I can do. He got very loud and provoked my husband and myself to the point they wanted to take it outside . Nothing transpired from that comment, and we paid the balance and left.
The enclosed pictures (4 stools together are before job) DO NOT LIE! Anyone can see this is a VERY BAD JOB and UNACCEPTABLE!! we are very unsatisfied and want a refund to take them to a professional and correct the LOUSY job he did!!
            Thanks
