This dealer does not honor promises. I was promised a free maintenance at my year's anniversary. The receptionist (whom I heard call me out of my name at the end of the call) stated that bc they couldn't reach me by phone by March 12 (anniversary date) when I spoke to her on April 1 that they would not honor the maintenance and I'd have to pay almost $400. I asked why wasn't I reach out to by letter and was informed that they don't take Extra steps (mind you this is a $8000 system). She stated that they had been calling me since September on my home phone, but I reminded her I spoke to her in October and provided my cell (in which time she was trying to sell me salt, not make my appointment). She said they make calls and that's it! So too bad if you're out of town, hospitalized, sick, family or unavailable to answer your home phone. No reconciliation after speaking with the Owner either. He also had the same attitude and began to tell me what 'wasnt said to me and my husband' by his seller or is receptionist. Apparently I had pulled all of this out of nowhere. Making sure to point out to me that they 'have been paid already for the system'. As a GW Army Veteran who is principled around core values of selfless service and integrity I find this disturbing, infuriating and disappointing. After another company's inspection of the water system, I was informed that the system sold to me was too small for the sq feet of my home and the osmosis system under my kitchen sink for drinking has NEVER worked!!! I'm paying for nothing!! I have been scammed!!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/07/05) */ this customer was not given free service for a year. no one ever told her that. we do have a one service policy which cover manufacture defect and installation. we called a ton of time to get a hold of her. she never responded till after the one year was up. she had nor defect or installation problems any way. the service policy does not cover routine maintenance. this is the second time she has done this. i am sorry but we made no promises or did we brake no promises.Initial Complaint

*** ****** a Rainsoft representative convinced me to purchase 5500 sq ft of radiant barrier for my attic. The total cost for the job was $18,972. *** told me he would not charge me any labor costs. After completing the project, I found out via a few professional contractors I could have paid much less to insulate my attic. I am a disabled veteran and was ripped off! I want to warn future customers, do not trust this shady sales person named *** ******Business response

I ASKED HOW HE CAME TO THAT AND HE RESPONDED THAT SOME ONE TOLD HIM THIS INFO. WE DID NOT OVER CHARGE HIM. I TRIED TO MAKE HIM HAPPY, I TRIED TALKING TO HIM. AND HE WAS NOT VERY COOPERATIVE. I SET AN APPOINTMENT TO GO AND SEE HIM, THROUGH HIS WIFE AND THEN THEY CANCELLED. I TRIED ASSURE HIM THAT WE DID NOT OVER CHARGE. I ASKED WHAT HE WANT IN RESONABLE TERMS AND HE NEVER WOULD ASKE. JUST KEPT ASKING ME IF I HAVE SOUL.WE DID THE WORK THAT HE WANTED AND HE PAID US. NOW HE WANTS A REFUND A YEAR LATER. BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD HIM IT SHOULD BE ALITTLE CHEAPER. I TRIED TO MAKE HIM HAPPY BUT HE WOULD HEAR OF THAT. I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD TRY IF HE WANTED TO. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT TO GET TO AND GOT OFF THE PHONE. MY INITIAL CLAIM RAINSOFT CHARGED ME $3000 MORE THAN EXPECTED WAS INCORRECT. AFTER THOROUGH RESEARCH, THE COST OF MATERIALS WITH LABOR IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN $18,792. RAINSOFT CHARGED ME AT LEAST $10,000 MORE FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED (ATTIC INSULATION). NEITHER LOWES, HOME DEPOT OR ANY MAJOR RETAILER CHARGES $4.29 SQ FT FOR THE MATERIALS USED. I DO NOT ACCEPT MR. B********'S RESPONSE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1) NO REASON PROVIDED FOR HIS SALES REP TIM H****' CLAIM, "I WON'T CHARGE YOU ANY LABOR" TIM HAYS ALSO STATED TO MY SPOUSE WITH AN INTIMIDATING EXPRESSION, "YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE LIARS" YET HE LIED ABOUT NO INSTALLATION CHARGES. WHY? 2) MR B********'S VISIT WILL DO NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE HERE. THE CHARGES ARE EXCESSIVE IN NATURE. HE STATED, "WE DIDN'T OVERCHARGE YOU." HE STATES, I WANT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. I WILL GIVE YOU $1000 IN SERVICES CONTINGENT ON REMOVING THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS." 3) MR B********'S VISIT WILL DO NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE HERE. THE CHARGES ARE EXCESSIVE IN NATURE. HE STATED, "WE DIDN'T OVERCHARGE YOU." HE STATED, "I WANT TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. YOU COULD HAVE PUT FIBERGLASS INSULATION YOUR ATTIC FOR MUCH LESS. THERE ARE BUSINESSES OUT THERE THAT CAN CHARGE LESS THAN WE DO" 4) WHEN I REQUESTED TOTAL LABOR, MATERIALS COSTS FROM MR B********, HE STATED "THERE IS NO COMPANY OUT THERE THAT WILL GIVE YOU THAT INFORMATION. I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THE MANUFACTURER, OR MY LABOR COSTS. WERE ALLOWED TO MAKE A PROFIT. I'M BEING 100% HONEST WITH YOU. IT IS WHAT IT IS, YOU PURCHASED A PRODUCT, WE DIDN'T HOLD A GUN TO YOUR HEAD, YOU PAID FOR OUR SERVICES. I CAN'T RE-USE THE MATERIAL. YOU REALLY DON'T WANT ANY MONEY BACK RIGHT, SINCE YOU DIDN'T ACCEPT MY OFFER $1000 FOR SERVICES? WE CHARGE $4.29 SQ FT FOR LABOR AND MATERIALS, WE DON'T SEPARATE THE TWO, THAT'S HOW WE SELL IT. WHEN YOU GET TO THAT AMOUNT OF INSULATION 5500 SQ FT YOU GET A VOLUME DISCOUNT. IN YOUR CASE WE CHARGED YOU LESS THAN $20K. I'M NOT PLAYING GAMES WITH YOU? YOU PAID $3 PER FT FOR THE INSTALLATION." Mr. Berryhill has not told me why his representative made false claims: "I won't charge you for installation." Mr. Berryhill refuted Tim Hayes' own words by telling me I was in fact charged for installation. How can I trust a company when individuals employed by Rainsoft are dishonest? Another deceptive claim: "Will cut utility bills by 25%" The vapor barrier will keep my attic cooler in the summer months, but does not reduce my utility bill by 25%. After a Black River Electric Energy Audit, these claims are false.
