    The issue is my first crown. I found out later my insurance wouldn't cover it because they said I didn't need it. When I came back to start to process of my second crown, I told Dr. S***** that if I was going to have to pay full price on this crown, that I could not proceed with having other work done. He told me that I wouldn't have to pay any more than I already had, EVEN IF insurance did not pay. It's been 4 months and I received an email that I had a bill that was 90 days past due for $231. I called and spoke with a woman who said they were still waiting on my insurance and not to worry about it. I went into my claims and saw that my insurance paid them a month ago. Even if they didn't pay, I was already told by Dr. S***** that I would be okay. When I went into my visit this morning I brought this up. Dr. S***** said "I meant that we would cover anything the insurance wouldn't pay on THEIR portion." I said yes, I get that, I have already paid my portion. He apologized for any misunderstanding. At this point, I'm upset, so he said he will talk to someone. He comes back and tells me and the hygienist "Write it off, I told her it would be fine." The hygienist says "See I told you, you had nothing to worry about, Dr. S***** really cares and will take care of you." The lady at the front desk was explaining what happened and then said I only owed for today and was good to go. Hour later, that same lady is calling me saying I have to pay the $231 because it would be "insurance fraud" to write it off. I'm sorry what? They all just told me to my face that everything was good. She said it wasn't their problem and that it was mine. I said "How is this my problem when you all said that I had nothing else to pay?" She condescendingly said "Well you'll just have to call your insurance!" This "business" needs to take accountability for their words and actions. It's disgusting. Let's not pretend they don't have other ways to fix THEIR mistake.

    They responded about the payment but did not apologize for how I was treated and did not acknowledge it was their mistake. They only responded because I had to go to social media. The woman who called still had the condescending rude attitude as the previous one, who basically told me to find a new dentist. They have NOT responded to how they will correct the issues I'm having with BOTH crowns I had done. They are trying to **** it off for another dentist while I continue to be in pain.

    We ended up writing off the remaining balance for the patient she has does not have a balance at this time, she also has an upcoming appointment for the doctor to get her out of pain.

    I am rejecting this response because:  
    This is now my second complaint. After a year of failing to reproduce my original tooth, they told me to go elsewhere and would refund me and my insurance. This was on October 21, 2022. They said it would be within 4 weeks and recommended another dentist. After 4 weeks I received my check, but when I contacted my insurance, they did not received a refund. I contacted Ocean Bay again, they said they sent a check. A month goes by and my insurance is not refunded. I contact Ocean Bay, they say they will contact my insurance and get back with me. Never heard anything back. My insurance still has not been refunded so I cannot go get a new crown done elsewhere because my insurance won't cover another crown for the same tooth. I'm fairly convinced they are postponing refunding my insurance on purpose in retribution for them receiving consistently bad reviews from me about the poor sub-par dental work they gave me. Because they won't refund my insurance, I once again have to suffer for months on end with a misshapen crown that has come off 5 times now. They emailed me back on February 2 saying the check was mailed out already. Its now Feb 20. My insurance is still not refunded. The insurance went ahead and told me to have them refund me directly. Today they reply back saying they sent a check out on February 15. Thats not what you said on February 2. You said it already was sent. They are continuously lying and will not correct their mistake. They also say they cant issue me a check because they sent out one to the insurance again since the insurance changed their address. Well you said you contacted my insurance back in December when the first check didnt arrive, so why has it taken 3 months to get the new address? Exactly, they refuse to honor the refund that they offered in the first place.
